The food was not good the sea food is not fresh , service was awful . The server let us sit with a dirty table we got cheese all over from the kale and not once did she try to clean up , I had dirty silverware I had to get some new silver ware 2x the oysters and scallops they say “ made to order” they have been sitting out . You can just taste it .. it’s not fresh .. the server was very robotic and just could careless .. even the table next to us thought she was so average we left her 10% the table next to us left her 15% I k is it was not. Not worth the money , don’t go there .. it was expensive and we left hungry

We absolutely loved this restaurant, the environment and food are wonderful. We had a group of 8 and the staff was amazing with us to ensure we had a memorable experience. We recommend this restaurant, the Roasted bone marrow is a must!

We dine here frequently as it is allergy friendly, made to order for the most part. This use to be my favorite restaurant. Unfortunately, we will not dine there on a Saturday again. The noise level in the basement was not enjoyable. We were seated next to a large party who were drinking heavily and didn't remember what they ordered. The wait staff brought food to our table three times that wasn't ours. My bread had butter on it (I have a dairy allergy) as they accidentally gave mine to the table next to us. The wait staff caught it shortly after bringing it fortunately and took my bread, leaving me with the rest of the bone marrow for 20 minutes before I received my dairy free bread. The meat was cold by then and I had to ask for a replacement. The wait staff were overloaded and did not visit the table often enough. The chefs must have been overloaded as well because the food wait was also extremely long. Lastly the marlin mule is usually served in a copper mug which they must not have had enough of as I got mine in a smaller glass. I could have been okay with some of this, but the whole of this made the experience VERY unsatisfactory. We have had increasing issues with this restaurant. I sure hope they turn it around as the food is extremely good. My husband said he will never go there on a Saturday again. I guess we will need to look for other options for Saturday night.

The service was impeccable, the food fresh, creative and clean. The only downside to the food was the half cooked sweet potato dish which when returned, was again sent out uncooked but additionally blackened on the exterior. This oversight was actually noted by the wait staff and we received a complimentary dessert so service recovery was good. The noise level both up and downstairs was very notable and while the upstairs dining had ambience, the downstairs was still obviously a basement and needs some work.

I love this place, just not for brunch... I had the crab stuffed pepper Benedict , just ok but wouldn’t order again. My friend is GF and had the breakfast tacos, also dissatisfied. I would say the brunch needs tweaking ... sorry.

Make a reservation. The food and service were terrific. Great wine selection and reasonable prices. Tight quarters in the side room and smaller bar area would be my only negative remarks. Fish of the day was excellent and service was even better.

Seated 25 minutes after reservation. Layout bad because staff has to cut through wait area to access side room. Wine list shallow. Ice in water or at least cold water would be nice addition. Most of food ordered was good but overpriced by about 15-20%. i. e. $25 for Swordfish about 3” in diameter.

It was great! Super busy, hard to stand and wait for our table. They were very accommodating and gave us free wine for the wait (since we had a reservation). Food was great as always.

Easter Brunch Service was extremely slow (we didn’t get our food until an hour in and it all came at once). I usually don’t have issues with their service, so maybe they just were understaffed and underprepared for the holiday?!

Quickly becoming a regular here. Went on Easter for brunch and everything was wonderful. Place was fairly busy but the service was still excellent. If you have a family or group I would highly recommend the all you can eat family style.

Haven’t been here in quite sometime, wife doesn’t enjoy seafood like myself and my son. Been trying to find a good time to take him here and Good Friday worked out perfectly for us. Hope to get back sometime soon to enjoy the bar and music with friends.

Once again The Dancing Marlin impressed me. A fantastic atmosphere and fantastic hosts combined with outstanding food makes this one of the best restaurants in the Chicagoland area. A must try for everyone and bring your friends. I have and will be back again and again.
Thank you Marlin!

We have been here before and the food is always amazing however, tonight we found a hair in the spicy garlic shrimp, which is our all time fave. It was disappointing and not sure when we will be back. Left us feeling a bit queasy.

Bartender was our waiter, who didn’t take the table too serious or to engage the people dining and sped through the special list to hurry out our dining experience.
The food was very good but was expecting a full course meal rather than tapas style, this why I feel they value in is more like 3-3.5$ rather than less.

Even though we had a reservation we ended up waiting about 10 minutes for our table. While the menu was unique, we weren’t thrilled about the cocktails being pre-made. They say their handmade but they really aren’t. Buying the mixers then adding liquor to the keg doesn’t make it handmade. The drinks tasted good, I would have much rather had a handmade cocktail rather than keg cocktail. The food was good. We had some oyster, which were small but good. The crostini has great flavor. My favorite was the sweet potatoes and the scallops. Would come back and order a drink that wasn’t from the keg. The wine list was also just mediocre. Would have been nice to have some nicer premium wines on the menu to pair with the seafood.

I love this place. The food is always good and our service was excellent. They would be well served to invest in making the lower level more visually appealing. The upstairs vibe is far better than the lower level. I've been there 4-5 times. When we went for NYE I specifically said we wanted to be upstairs but this time I didn't make that request and wish I had done so. Even so - I'm still looking forward to returning.
