Dame's chefs source ingredients carefully through local farms and the kitchen cooks simply and seasonally to highlight the wonderful farmers we are lucky to work with. We source our wine with the same ideas in mind. Hand-harvested grapes grown organically, with minimal manipulation in the winery.

Fresh & delicious food. Excellent and friendly service. Wine selection is especially good. Space is airy, bright and attractive.
Outstanding wines & great suggestions from the sommelier. Most of our food was very good to excellent but the burger was significantly undercooked.
Dame is a super cute spot with a great aesthetic and feel. We had an extremely friendly server who congratulated us on our anniversary and brought us champagne at the end of our meal. The *only* thing holding me back from giving Dame 5 stars is the food for price quality ratio. Don't get me wrong, the food is alright! The price is ok! It's just not what is going to bring be back to Dame, the service and wine will.
They are in the process of a change over which we were not aware of and was not posted on open table.
It’s wonderfull to have Chef Patrick McKee cooking again! The space is comfortable & intimate. The service was attentive. The food was delicious. I’m looking forward to my next visit.
Food, service, drinks, wine list and ambiance all lived up to the hype I have been hearing about Dame. I would go here again and again. The meny often changes, but if you like PNW food that is always fresh and in season, don't hesitate.
I had a tenderloin stake that was good, but not much else came with it. When ordering I asked the waitress what was included and she told me “ it was as listed in menu. I asked her again to explain the ingredients, since I did not not any of the words In description and she agin just said it what it say. She said I could look at other tables to see. She would not even give me a description of the dish and included sides.
The service was great but the food was rather cold. Good food, just cold.
We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Dame. The choices were all exquisite and so beautifully flavorful with a strong Scandinavian profile in many dishes. The standouts were the smoky potatoes and the salad with Chicory and the wonderful Mountain Rose Apples. I enjoyed the Lamb neck and there were pescatarian options that were spectacular. Highly recommended.
The restaurant is cold, very cold. Everyone had jackets on during dinner, not a good sign. Apparently they have a fuse problem, but no one seems willing to fix the problem. This place already has a door in the middle of the establishment which takes all the heat everytime the door is opened, but this was a little beyond. I won't go back unless it is summer.
Dinner with friends. We ordered a variety of small plates to share as appetizers. The salt cod croquettes were delicious. Bread board a must. Three ordered the coppa and I ordered Manila clams...some of the best ever. Wait staff very informed for pairing wine and attentive to our table.
Food was good but a bit too fancy for some of our party. Little or no options for kids.
The ambience was cozy, the service was attentive and caring. The food was just okay. I had rockfish with parsnip sauce and roasted veggies. It was okay. Nothing memorable or special. Took part of it home and did t even eat it.
I want to love this place and there are things about it that are great. The service is excellent, the atmosphere is charming and the wine list is great. But the food leaves something to be desired. We'd been here once over a year ago and were not impressed with the meal. We came back in the hopes that the food would have improved. Sadly, it was about the same. It's not bad, but it's not a standout and given the stiff competition in Portland cuisine it should be.
This was our first visit associated with a birthday and we wanted both traditional and vegan preferences .
The menu is incredible; we were very pleased the offerings, the wine selection, the friendliness & helpfulness of our servers, & attention to detail.
Wanted to try this out for some time and it did not disappoint. Cozy atmosphere, smaller dining space, adventuresome menu to delight any pescatarian/vegetarian. Service was attentive and accomodated a change in seating to deal with a night chill from the glass windows. Intimate and relaxed elegance.
The interior is very inviting--the dark colors and hints of antiques are warm and pleasing to the eye. I feel that the menu is limiting, and the prices are so varied, making the decision of what to order forced to be pricing considered. For example, they should have two entree's in the teens, two in the twenties, two in the thirties, and none in the 40's! (as opposed to just one choice in each category). It feels like the pricing needs to be reigned in. The drinks are prohibitively expensive, in my opinion. Also, why they made no reservations available on a Saturday night at 7pm forcing us to show up at 6:45 and watch many empty tables all night, was an inconvenience.
Everything was delicious! There were many unique combinations and preparations, even among the vegetables, but it was not overdone at all. The restaurant itself is small but cozy, and the service was exceedingly friendly and helpful. We had a lovely expereince there.
Amazing meal in many ways. Wonderful, fresh and flavorful. One of the best places in Portland and we have lived here 20 years!
We decided to pop into Dame for an 8pm dinner on a Saturday night. It was cozy and the staff was really welcoming and warm. Unfortunately they had run out of both of the items we wanted (it was really busy earlier) so while we were disappointed, our spirits were quickly lifted when we were informed we were now on Happy Hour and found a few gems. We went with the clams and the squash. One of the staff came over later to see if we had any food allergies and sent us a few complimentary dishes to make up for not having the items we originally wanted which was really kind of her! And it was delicious! I'd love to come back and try the items we originally wanted and felt that the service and quality of food made up for what could have been a disappointing night.
There were 7 in our group for a birthday party dinner. Our service was excellent and the food was outstanding. The restaurant is small in seating space so a reservation is highly recommended. It's a bit on the pricey side but we also ordered a lot so of course the bill would reflect that. They created a new menu for each day so it's fun to see what your choices are.
Dame was one of the best finds we’ve had for restaurants. The food, although limited in choices, was excellent - well prepared, served, and a tasty delight. The wine topped it off with exceptional flavor and well paired to the meal. I would highly recommend Dame.
Menu features vegetarian small plate appetizers and entrees with four meat or seafood options. Dessert is essentially non existent., with only three mundane choices. Creative utilization of seasonal vegetables but bland taste and failure to explore natural flavors in any dish we ordered. The enticing descriptions of menu items did not live up to expectations. Exotic, extensive wine list. Disappointing experience.
Very nice. Spendy, but excellent.
We were visiting from out of town and decided to try Dame after checking out the menu and reading other reviews. We were not disappointed! It's a charming little neighborhood gem. Menu is small but interesting, the food was well presented and everything was outstanding. Service was great. Will definitely go back next time in the area.
We were a party of 8 people celebrating a birthday. We ordered almost everything that was on the menu and shared the plates so that we all got to taste each delicious dish! The seasonings were unique and brought out the delicious flavors of the vegetable and meat dishes. The service was impeccable! The wine list was extensive and the wine that we ordered was delicious and supported the various dishes that we ordered. Everything was perfect and we had a wonderful evening! Thank you for helping us support the twins birthdays!
One of the best meals I’ve had in months. Our server picked out the perfect wines based on our preferences, and the food was outstanding! Dame is a great new find for me, I’ll be back soon!
We dropped in on a whim early on a Friday afternoon. We ordered all the "happy hour" items and house- pour wine. The food was unique, each item more interesting and delightful than the last. We will be back.
Cozy restaurant, gracious staff, wonderful cuisine. The rockfish was outstanding; the roasted carrots were in a league of their own.
Intimate and yet worldly feel with the delightful wine list.
Food & service excellent.
We were made to feel like we were the only ones there- very hands on service!
Told friends about this lovely experience!
Was great for me as a single older woman on a Saturday at 5pm no rush. The clams are the best I've had, and that is saying a lot. The wine selection is amazing. Service is fantastic. The menu is a little limited but good for sharing. I highly recommend for happy hour.
Small but innovative menu focused on veggies and local ingredients, but with some meat options to keep us carnivores happy. The real attraction here is the brilliant list of natural wines from around the world. I work in the wine industry, but still didn’t recognize 80% of the names on the list. But luckily the staff is very knowledgeable and you can totally rely on them for excellent recommendations.
I love sitting at a bar and this is one of the best if you’re into wine. Some of the best clams I’ve ever had too.
SO YUMMY EVERY DISH CANT WAIT TO COME BACK
Great little neighborhood spot in Concordia. We stayed at Kennedy School and walked over to Dame from there. We would never have found it if it wasn't for OpenTable. But, we are very glad we did. The food was excellent. The service was delightful, and the atmosphere was perfect for a date night. Don't miss Dame if you have the chance to dine there!
Our only regret was we did not have room to try dessert.
Decided on Dame for a date night with my husband and it did not disappoint. First of all, it is a beautiful restaurant. It has a sexy feminine vibe but without being girly or pretentious while somehow also maintaining an easy-breezy neighborhood kind of feel. We were greeted with such warm hospitality and that genuinely welcoming vibe carried on all throughout the night with each staff person we interacted with. The owner helped guide us toward some new wines, thoughtful to keep us in our comfort zone while introducing us to wines we'd never had. We ordered a vegetable and seafood heavy array of dishes - each one hitting the spot - from snacky treats like fried smelt and aioli and oysters while we sipped bubbles to fresh, bursting-with-flavor salads over a light rose to a more decadent broth of clams with a sampling of orange wines. Wow. We'll be back again and again.
Wonderful food, presentation, service. Perfect Beurre Blanc. Rockfish simple, light and satisfying. Summer night, doors open, lovely beet salad and fresh grapefruit drink. Even found eady parking. Perfect!
Fantastic! So much fun, party of 6 sharing great food and great service ! This will be a regular dining spot for me. Outstanding: beets, clams (!), lamb neck and pork coppa
