Damas, an upscale Syrian restaurant located on Van Horne Avenue is worth trying out. You will be charmed by the Oriental decor and most impressed by their refined and rich cuisine. This modern but authentic gastronomy will make your mouth water with all their specialties starting from the fattouche, the appetizing mouth-melting lamb leg to the cherry kebab. Damas Ratings and Reviews
Went with hubby for Valentine’s day dinner. Food was extremely delicious, unique and different. The menu was designed with portions to share and above average portion sizes for this type of restaurant. We fell in love with the place and will definitely be back soon. Service was also outstanding and everyone very pleasant. The only improvement would be to add valet parking.
What an amazing experience, $$$ but nonetheless so worth it. We went on a Monday and it was surprisingly quite busy! Fresh tasty food, you can tell the ingredients are of good quality, cooked to perfection, the flavors are flawless. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a date/anniversary/special occasion. Service was courteous and efficient as well. Would definitely come back!
Honestly one of the greatest meals I've ever had in my life. Well worth the price. Everything we ordered was OUTSTANDING and so incredibly tasty. I wish we had been more people, so that we could have tried more dishes. The staff is great, the restaurant beautiful.... and need I say again how delicious the food was?! Don't sleep on this one.... GO!!!
As a Chef and a restaurant owner, it's great to have an evening free, what is even better is dining out and having a wonderful dining experience at a restaurant and that is what my dining experience at Damas was, a culinary experience and a great experience.
Fantastic food, great ambiance, friendly and helpful staff, always busy. Although the prices are higher than the average Montreal restaurant, it was definitely worth it! I highly recommend the 5-course tasting menu, it has a lot of variety and was delicious.
this is my second visit and I must admit that they never fail you in Damas. The food and flavors are simply magnificent. our waiter Marc-Anthony was very accommodating and helpful. the wine list is a daring one with great Lebanese wines which I hardly find in Montreal. So yes this restaurant deserves the recent plaudits and positive reviews from the foodies.
Great Food, Excellent Entrees and Mezzes - Mains were good for the price. Experience at Damas was very good - the soups, mezzes and their fattoush salad were memorable. The service left a lot to be desired. Our waiter was constantly talking to the table behind us and not giving us much attention. He didn't even tell us the shrimp was sold out until after we had placed our whole order. We also had to wave him over often for some extra bread or water. When we were paying at the end - he was still talking to the table behind us which I found very rude.
