About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Innovative
  • Great for creative cocktails
Beautiful Modern Mediterranean restaurant by Chefs Laura and Sayat (Star Chefs and San Francisco Chronicle Rising Stars) at the Main Parade Lawn in the heart of the Presidio National Park. The restaurant's menus feature Presidio-inspired seasonal craft cocktails, a progressive wine menu, and a cuisine that balances the comfort of familiar Mediterranean flavors with California sensibilities.

In cohesion with the Presidio National Park, the design features soft, natural colors; repurposed furniture items from the Presidio; and a mural and a hand-drawn wall paper by Bay Area artist Emily Parkinson. Diners can enjoy a patio with a view of Alcatraz; an intimate private dining room; a lofty main dining room surrounded by windows on two sides; a cozy bar that is a local favorite; and an open-concept kitchen counter with counter seats and high tables.

Why they're an Icon

Executive chef: Laura and Sayat

From the OpenTable editors: This Presidio restaurant—where the food is just as stunning as the Bay views—is founders Laura and Sayat Ozyilmaz love letter to the Eastern Mediterranean. The menu is meant for sharing; the fluffy pitas are a must-order with hummus and muhammara. Better still, go for the chef's menu, so you can get the best of Dalida's juicy kebabs and seafood that landed it a spot on Esquire's Best New Restaurants list.

The food here was delicious, especially the octopus and how it was prepared. The mix of spices and the iresentation was a feast for the eyes. We had a chance to speak with chef Laura and you can tell she loves what she does. It show in every dish. Will definitely go again.

The Brunch was just about perfect. Food was absolutely amazing and the chef's counter was equally entertaining (watching as they prepared the exact food we were about to eat). The only note would be on service. I ordered one of the Zero ABV beverages, and there was a delayed arrival time. When the drink did come out, it was the wrong one. I had reconfirmed the specific drink twice with the waiter so was surprised when it was brought to the table. Having said that, the drink was completely delicious. Also, massive kudos to the server (unsure as to name) who brought us our pita and accoutrements. He was an absolute joy and demonstrated picture perfect hospitality.

The food is an original mix of Turkish, Persian and other influences of the "eastern" mediterranean, as the website suggests. We loved the spreads with bread (ordered additional bread, and it practically melts in your mouth), and the pasta entree was unusually good in terms of combined flavors and textures. The space is warm and cozy, and it is a good thing since the windows only look out to the nearby parking. We were too stuffed to order dessert, but we will definitely leave room for it next time because there were some interesting options (more than the usual baklava) that we don't always see even at other Turkish restaurants (including a sour cherry soaked bread and the well known, unique version of ice cream that you find everywhere in Turkey but don't see much of in the U.S.). This is a place worth repeating.

We went here for a family dinner, and were incredibly disappointed. We booked our dinner for 7:15 PM a month in advance, and when we arrived … we weren’t seated until ~20 whole minutes later. The previous party apparently refused to leave their table, and the chef/management didn’t kick them out and made us wait. We were given free champagne/kombucha, but little to no acknowledgement of the inconvenience caused. They also gave us free Zataar bread and spreads, but then "mistakenly” charged us for it at the end of the meal. Sloppy service all around, the grilled oysters were exceptional but everything else was forgettable. The mains - lamb shoulder and turbot - were very pricy (~$150 for those dishes combined), and definitively unexceptional given the hefty price tag. Sadly, Dalida was not worth the wait, nor will they get a return visit anytime soon. If customers book a table in advance, they should be able to be seated at that time. It’s that simple, and the Dalida team didn’t even meet the bare minimum.

This was our fourth time at Dalia and sadly so, probably our last.. service was great - but the food was shockingly inedible. The smoked salmon ‘thing’ was so spicy, overly so. The fries were covered in salt. The roast chicken was cold.. Should I go on?

Have dined @ Dalida 3x since they opened. All experiences have been outstanding regarding food, service, and ambiance. It is a very popular heavily booked restaurant. My reservation was made for 2 people for 5:30. I responded to texts confirming my reservation. As everyone is aware, sometimes traffic in SF is unpredictable and delays occur. We arrived 10 minutes after the reservation time.We were greeted with a cold shoulder, not a warm welcome which I would have expected from such a high quality prestigious establishment. We were reminded of the time when we would have to leave before we were seated. Being a frequent diner, I am quite aware of time limits for a table and are respectful of that. Am also aware of the usual grace period for a reservation. This was an unnecessary communication and was presented in the most cold unprofessional manner. The woman who was responsible for this communication needs to learn finesse and use a welcoming tone if the message is necessary. Most restaurants just handle this in a discreet manner by presenting the bill. It did influence my overall assessment. Will inform my diner friends of this snobbish behavior.
