About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Innovative
  • Great for creative cocktails
Beautiful Modern Mediterranean restaurant by Chefs Laura and Sayat (Star Chefs and San Francisco Chronicle Rising Stars) at the Main Parade Lawn in the heart of the Presidio National Park. The restaurant's menus feature Presidio-inspired seasonal craft cocktails, a progressive wine menu, and a cuisine that balances the comfort of familiar Mediterranean flavors with California sensibilities.

In cohesion with the Presidio National Park, the design features soft, natural colors; repurposed furniture items from the Presidio; and a mural and a hand-drawn wall paper by Bay Area artist Emily Parkinson. Diners can enjoy a patio with a view of Alcatraz; an intimate private dining room; a lofty main dining room surrounded by windows on two sides; a cozy bar that is a local favorite; and an open-concept kitchen counter with counter seats and high tables.

Why they're an Icon

Executive chef: Laura and Sayat

From the OpenTable editors: This Presidio restaurant—where the food is just as stunning as the Bay views—is founders Laura and Sayat Ozyilmaz love letter to the Eastern Mediterranean. The menu is meant for sharing; the fluffy pitas are a must-order with hummus and muhammara. Better still, go for the chef's menu, so you can get the best of Dalida's juicy kebabs and seafood that landed it a spot on Esquire's Best New Restaurants list.

The cocktails were mostly ice The food was delicious, but the server had a really hard time understanding whether things were gluten-free and brought dishes that weren’t gluten-free that we then had to send back

We stopped by for lunch to celebrate a birthday. It’s clear the restaurant is aiming for a fine dining experience. The ambiance suggests elegance, but the execution falls short. We waited over 30 minutes before our server even came by. The dining room was surprisingly loud for midday that keeping a normal conversation felt impossible. When our food finally arrived, it turned out to be the wrong dish: we’d ordered the saffron tahdig but were given the seafood version instead. We were too worn out from the wait to ask them to fix it and the seafood dish cost over like $35 than the saffron version...... The food itself was fine. No real complaints, but nothing that stood out or amazed us. On the upside, they did offer a complimentary birthday dessert, which was a thoughtful gesture. However, what stood out most was something that left a sour note: one of the servers asked us, “Do you speak English?” before explaining the dish. We hadn’t said anything yet, he simply assumed based on our appearance that we might not speak English. It was uncomfortable and honestly offensive. We’ve dined at restaurants ranging from Michelin three-stars to neighborhood gems, and we’ve never been asked that before. It left us wondering what would’ve happened if we said no. Would he have just dropped the dish and walked away? Overall, for a special celebration lunch, I’d give it a 5 out of 10. There’s good potential here, but the service and consistency need improvement to match the restaurant’s upscale ambitions.

I don’t really leave reviews but given how expensive the menu & overall experience was I thought I’d leave a review. This was my second time here first time ( a few months after opening) left me wanting more, second time was probably the last. Food: 2 dishes were outstanding, the oysters & the hamachi. Both kind of hard to mess up as long as you start with great quality seafood. We tried 7 dishes- so I’d say it was a good depiction of the overall menu. Everything else was okay, presentation for most dishes was executed well. But flavor was lacking. It seemed like they were really trying to meet costs by plating very minimally. Which could have been fine if each component was done well. I worked in the food industry for 10 years & my partner runs very well know SF restaurant chain. I absolutely don’t mind paying top dollar for food as long as it seems worth it in the end. After paying almost $600 on a three person dinner I walked out feeling very much underwhelmed.

The food is unbelievably good; comforting, yet innovative, with perfectly balanced flavors. The octopus appetizer is a work of art! This food is simultaneously for special occasions and for everyday enjoyment. Comfortable dining room with wonderful views of the Presidio. The service is a little hit and miss -- great at the start, then stumbled when they got busy. Small things like our table not getting wiped before desserts were served and big things like no "thank you" from the server neither when the $340 check was dropped, nor when it was collected.

Dalida is a destination restaurant. My wife and I went there for my wife's birthday and it did not disappoint. The food and service were excellent. It would be nice if the bar were a bar where you could sit at the bar and get a drink while you wait for your table, rather than just another seating option. It's possible to stand in the bar area with a drink, which we did, but we also felt a little bit in the way, and it wasn't really a true bar experience. But still, it's a very minor criticism on what was overall a great experience. Special shout out to Sommelier Naielli (spelling?). Apart from helping us choose a fabulous bottle of wine, we really felt like she was keeping an eye on us and making sure we had a great experience. She is also just a delightful person.

One of the best dinning out meals. All the food was creatively prepared and delicious. Our server was helpful, there when we needed her, i.e., attentive without being intrusive. Our only complaint was there is no attempt to dampen the noise level. There could be ceiling or wall acoustic tiles to absorb some of the noise. If that is done, it would greatly improve the dinning experience.
