Took a group of 8, everyone enjoyed their meals. Two with food allergies were easily accommodated. Would definitely go back.
It was excellent.
Go here often for lunch. It’s a great place to eat. Great service and great food. Will keep going back!
My Husband and I dined here for our wedding anniversary. It was lovely. The service was stellar and so was the food. Would defiantly recommend Dakotas to a friend or family member!
The steaks are amazing! I would also highly recommend the mozzarella salad. We had dinner at Dakota’s to celebrate a special occasion. The server recognized the special occasion and brought out a beautifully plated dessert in recognition of my daughter. Other than slightly slower than expected service, the experience was outstanding!
First time to Dakota's and impressed with the food and the service. Delicious appetizer, main and dessert. Definitely will go back.
Overall a great place ... becareful the servers tend to oversell and lie about certain prices on drinks ordered a martini with "well vodka" cost more than one with titos didn't make sense..
My steak was succulent and the accompanyments were delicious.
Service was gracious and efficient.
Ambience was lovely and the girls were pretty.
Filets were cooked perfect. Creamed spinach was delicious. Service was excellent.
Delicious food from start to finish. Great wait staff. Exceptionally attentive. Early seating suggested if you want less noise.
Awesome restaurant. Really enjoyed our dinner there. Great food, service was as well. Kenneth was a great server & went above and beyond. Still can taste the steak and Mac and cheese. Will definitely be back!
Each course was exquisitely prepared and excellent. The atrium ambiance is perfect for any occasion work or romantic but the food speaks for itself. Not rushed or slow, just right. Everyone remarked about the excellent quality of their meal. Surely will plan on another visit when back in Dallas.
Ambiance and staff were great. Wine offerings were varied and paired well with most anything a person could order from the menu. Presentation was appealing, food was excellent... coconut cream pie was to die for! Our waiter, Adam, was terrific! Even the valet was nice, fast and professional.
Food was good! The restaurant was a sound shell and loud from the tile floors, making it feel less intimate and cozy. Server was a bit casual in her approach making it feel upscale casual vs fine dining. It didnt really fine dining to me, having worked in the industry.
Great service and great steak. More than i expected. We will definitely be back.
We ordered many things for the table including calamari, crab cake and the Mac and cheese with fried onions. I also ordered the filet. Everything I had was phenomenal. I will definitely be back
The food was good, but my steak was cooked table side and the waitress who cooked it had no idea what she was doing. So my steak was basically raw...
The food and ambiance was awesome. Nick our waiter was amazing. Love going there.
Great food and perfect atmosphere for a romantic evening.
This place is amazing, my girlfriend and i have been to Dakota's Steak house quite a few times and it has yet to let us down! We love the Steak, the calamari, the mash potatoes, the Brussels sprouts, and so much more! This is our number one steak house restaurant in all of Dallas!!
When I first moved to Dallas, TX from Las Vegas, NV I heard about your resturarnt history and how it became about and what a story. I was thinking I have to dine at this location and be a part of this. So I did made reservations for tonights service. and unfortunately I have to say that service and management fell short. I can forgive the technical details that were over looked. From the runner not offering pepper for either the soup or salad, no having a fork on the table for the Ribeye, both of the steaks being overcook and my guest under cooked and giving the incorrect bill at the end of the services. My guest and I had choose to switch meal so we could attempt to enjoy the dinner. When it was time to clear the server knew we were disappointed because we did not eat are meal. The server said we will take care of the dessert and we both stated multiple times that we are fine and its not needed. He was so adamant we just aggrieved to take it to go so we could just leave. By then I am sure the manager was aware of the multiple challenges that we were receiving. What I find most inappropriate was when the manager Renee did approach the table and asked how was everything I simply stated "its ok" he offered to not even help the situation or apologize. What Renee did choose to do was have small talk about the weather and his sweating problem and why he did not wear his seatbelt correctly because it would show a sweat stain and got a ticket for it. When the correct check was dropped I was baffled that nothing was done or address. The GM did call me the next day which was nice however, still didn’t offer anything. Simply stated we been around for 30plus years and have the best review and give us a second chance. We said no thank you.
The ambiance was very nice being located one lever below the street, food was splendid, piano player was very good, with a variety of quiet melodies, service was initially slow, but server was excellent. He was courteous, knowledgeable, patient, humorous, and very accommodating. The prices are comparative to the good quality meal taste and portions.
I took my wife to Dakota's for a 6 PM Valentine's Day dinner. We've been there several times before, and everything has always been great. This visit met our expectations food-wise, and our waitress was cordial and attentive. The only negative was the gentlemen that initially seated us. He took us to a table in the most-trafficked area of the restaurant near the center of the main room. When we remarked about how busy that spot was, he dismissed us by responding "Well, it's a busy night" (or something to that effect). There were several better tables not too far away. Soon after he rushed off, a waiter greeted us. We asked to be moved to a different table out of the primary flow of foot traffic. The waiter informed a lady working the front desk, and she reseated us at a less hectic table. From that point on we had a great time. My wife had the king crab legs, and I chose the chilean sea bass. Both, along with the mac-n-cheese and asparagus sides were wonderful. The house chardonnay and white chocolate cheesecake were also quite good. All-in-all, it was an excellent finish after the rocky start.
Wanted to make Valentine's Day with my wife special. This was the place. Quiet & romantic, with service that was over the top. Definitely a great place for special occasions.
evertrying is horrible
Oyster are spoiled. Taste sour
Rare fillet is raw
Lamb is over seasoned. Over over seasonal
I like salty food but still can’t stand it
Wal-Mart even has better shrimp than here
Food was great but service lacked a bit!
Usually the food is awesome here but this time a couple things were off. I ordered the NY strip medium and unfortunately the outside was a little charred and the cream spinach was awful, we actually sent it back. My wife’s steak was spot on though.
The wait staff was excellent.
I was looking for a new and different kind of steakhouse for valentines and my wife loved it. Will come back when the patio is open to the water fall.😎❤
Everything was as expected with 2 exceptions. The older gentleman who was “hosting” and running the reservations and seating was a bit arrogant and must have forgotten he was working in the service industry. Secondarily, we ordered the “catch of the day” at 12:25 and it was sold out?! Terrible planning on behalf of the management staff and they offered a type of fish we had never heard of for the same price...
One of the best dining experiences I have had. They bent over backwards to make our visit as nice as possible.
I write this with some ambivalence, but this visit was disappointing. Perhaps my standards are too high or I am too sensitive to nuance. I just expected better for dinners out where you are spending in the $250-$300 range. I was taken back to see a restaurant of this caliber using serving trays like an outback or steak & ale. Perhaps they are understaffed ? The meal was just underwhelming all around, steaks are not well seasoned and the sauces that are priced like they are something truly special are not.
Desert choices were also thin as the selection seemed straight out of cheese cake factory. No pastry chef working there it seems.
We don’t make it to downtown too often but wanted out of Plano for an early Valentine’s Day dinner and were left wanting more.
Celebrated my Birthday at Dakotas and I was very impressed with the Service and food. I had a great time and absolutely enjoyed the atmosphere. Our waiter was on top of his game and really made sure the night was special and meaningful. I can't wait for another special occasion cause I'm looking for an excuse to return. This place is AMAZING!!! Worth every Dollar.....
My last visit to Dakota's was 30 years ago. I was a 16 year old junior in high school. I remembered Dakota's being very nice and very expensive, but having wonderful food. Fast-forward 30 years and the restaurant is as nice, and the food is as good, as I remembered it. I had the 22 oz bone-in ribeye, baked potato and macaroni and cheese. The steak was seared and perfectly cooked, the loaded baked potato had large bacon chunks which added flavor, and the macaroni and cheese was made with smoked Gouda, which was fantastic. My fiance had the catch of the day that was served with steam vegetables. She does not eat red meat and eats fish almost everywhere we go. She loved her meal and said it was one of the best she had eaten. Whatever you do, DO NOT order the cheesecake! If you do, you will want to order a second piece to go. The white chocolate cheesecake is by far one of the best pieces of cheesecake I have ever eaten, and I make a good cheesecake.
Dakota's steakhouse is always a superior dining experience. The steaks are exceptional. I usually order the filet and my husband orders the porterhouse, always cooked to perfection.
The service is excellent and the ambience is second to none.
Our waiter Efrin was excellent, courteous and knowledgeable and so was the rest of the staff. My wife and I were celebrating an early Valentine's Day dinner and glad we decided on this restaurant. I recommend Dakota's to anyone that would like to spend quality time with a loved one and enjoy an exquisite meal.
Debbie provided great service. Very attentive.
My wife and I went here for our anniversary the other night for the second time. We love Dakota's because the staff is so kind and attentive--they even got together to sign a card to tell us happy anniversary.
The steaks are legendary and known for the qualify of the cut and the preparation, but you definitely pay a premium for that.
Food was ok, would not make the top 20 steakhouses in Dallas that’s for sure. Had to send a steak back 2 times and it still did not come out correct. When you spend $57 on a steak (supposedly the best cut in the house), I am sorry but I expect perfection from a steakhouse, especially in Texas. What struck me as really un-nerving is that about 9:00pm the wait staff starts taking chairs from table and clearing the restaurant. It makes you feel as though they want you to hurry up so they can go home. Maybe it should have been a hint to us that they really were not busy on a Saturday night. Anyway, this was our first and last time here.
