Food was fantastic as usual. Love the atmosphere in and outside of the restaurant. The wait staff is always spot on with meal choices and side choices. Courteous as usual.
We went out for a family night. It was a night with live entertainment (we didn't realize ahead of time) and it was loud (the music wasn't bad, just loud). The service was great and the food was very good.
Shrimp enchiladas are always fantastic. The other dishes are excellent also but the shrimp enchiladas are the best.
It was our first time there, the service was fantastic and the food was great, we will be back.
Menu a little limited but good food and an attentive staff. We would go back.
Very good Thanksgiving meal. Everything was hot a nd fresh. Great options for sides and desserts.
Our first time here and it was really great. We sat out on the patio and it was very comfortable. The waitress was very nice and accommodating. Food was delicious! They had the best sweet potato fries I've ever had!
Such a great restaurant. Why did it close?
Everything was fine except for two things: the server, Mary, snapped at me in front of the other patrons when I asked for two cups of water for the third time; while our group had been sitting for quite a while and even after we placed our orders. Secondly, for the prices paid for meals and drinks and automatically taking 18% gratuity (not allowing us to decide what the server rightly deserved), there should be an expense that goes to cleaning up all the dirt and cobwebs on the walls, Windows and ceilings, above our heads on the outdoor patio to make it a more inviting experience.
Inside eating was impossible due to no air-conditioning and a musty aroma in the air. Outside eating had no misting system by table. Reservation did not accomplish anything except undesirable eating location. Then we had to go hunt up someone to obtain our bill. Then we had to watch people feed their dog. Dogs should not be allowed .
Dakota Cafe is a great find. Whether you're stopping in for happy hour or a nice relaxing meal, you're going to love this place. Beautiful patio seating and cozy seating areas inside, it's a comfy place with wonderful food and drinks. The bartender and our server were top-notch, totally going above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable time. And we did! We'll definitely be back. Highly recommend!
I had a confirmation from O.T. but when I got there they said they didn't have my reservation but it was okay because they weren't busy. I expected to get a ding from Open Table for not showing up for my res. I had stated on the res that I was taking my friend birthday lunch. Turns out they have a new brunch menu which was very good. Only problem was we ordered decaf, didn't come, asked...told forgot to add coffee, waited....asked for refill, waited, went in to ask again so other waitress brought barely warm coffee from carafe. Our waitress ran up with 2 cups of freshly brewed decaf - said she'd made another fresh pot. Not that big a deal - maybe they were new staff .
Dakota is long known for its southwestern flair on several dishes, and the quality of the food was delicious as always. Service for a slow Sunday afternoon was rather disappointing and frustrating at times but overall we will definitely come back.
Consistent food and service with a recently updated menu improvements. Pleasant atmosphere and grounds (Trail Dust Town)
We so enjoy dining at Dakota, especially on the patio. Great service, always. Delicious food.
Terrible food. We went there as'Dakota' but it had changed. Different restaurant and menu and terrible food
We discovered that Rounders is the Dakota. We have always enjoyed the Dakota, so we were very pleased that some of our menu favorites were still available.
Sad to say with the name change, the quality of the food has really fallen, great service - but we'll not return
It was kids night at Trail dust town and was very loud with more people and kids than usual. Food was very slow to come out and not very hot. The enchiladas were way over priced for what you get and nothing special about the sliders too. The menu has changed not for the better.
Will not be high on list of places to go back to. The waiter did try the best he could.
New menu has removed many of our favorites - it seems like it has become more like a sandwich shop
Food was very good. However, my husband wanted the tri-tip which you do not serve until 5pm. We were there at 7pm and were told you out of the tri-tip. Our waiter was very nice, but could not find him half the time. He never came back to replenish my husband's alcoholic drink. Once he served the food we never saw him again and had to ask another waiter to tell him we were ready for our check.
Other than the waiter, the experience and food was good.
Restaurant needs an update. Booths had torn fabric and some seats had rips.
Shrimp dishes and BBQ were better than I could make at home, and superior to what I have found else where in Tucson.
Outside Patio was great. The misting system was nice for Arizona heat.
Service was consistent and friendly and food excellent.
Best service and waiter was super informative!! Love when Tucson restaurants give dining incentives like price breaks on wine and appetizers. Great Deal and I will go back within the month.
I had an extra special birthday lunch yesterday with them.
Always nice to visit. Scallops were delicious Great singer and music. Would have liked a better table closer upfront. But otherwise very nice
Don't let the location in an old western town/park fool you. I was so skeptical when I realized just where this was. I was so worried that is was gong to be a bust. But the service, the sweet potato fries and all 6 meals at the table were winners! We would go again just for their fries and the occasional fish and chips special! Extremely generous portions as well!
Family came in to town at the last moment for Mother's Day. Dakota Grill was able to have accommodations for us. The most important part my young grandson loved his mac and cheese and the adults were equally satisfied. . I had actually made arrangements for my HOA to eat here a few days earlier and the food was equal in quality. It is nice to have the consistency in food quality and staff attention in completely different dining experiences. Good Job!
My boyfriend and I put this on our list of 'let's try new places', and it's by far the best on our list. I've now taken my mom there for both Mother's Day, and continue to enjoy the scenery, atmosphere, and most of all, the food. The key lime pie is the best I've ever had!
The Mothers Day brunch was excellent. The brunch choices were great. The shrimp was the best we've had in Tucson. The roast beef was first class. The server was very friendly and helpful. Each mother got a mimosa and dessert was included for all. This was the perfect Mothers Day for my mom
Delicious preparations with southwestern flair.
I don't live in Tucson and infrequently visit, but Dakota is on my must visit list. Wonderful atmosphere with live music on the weekends. The waitstaff is outstanding and know the menu inside out. They're not shy about giving recommendations and they haven't led me wrong yet.
We weren't too pleased that they ran out of Fish & Chips by 6 pm on a Friday.
One of my favorites in Ticson. You cannot beat their scallop salad for lunch. Jacqueline
Instead of saying I was there for my reservation, they canceled it, in which I didn't get my own table points.
We sat down at noon, ordered an appetizer and our lunch then, our appetizer got there at 12:20, and our food got to our table after 1.
Wish they would bring back the gluten-free pasta dish. It was my favorite and I miss it. Always good food.
We had a group of 8 and I think my dinner was the worst one, so I'll preface this review with my personal preference. I had the shrimp enchiladas, and if I hadn't been so hungry I wouldn't have eaten this entrée. It had absolutely no taste whatsoever. The shrimp were certainly plentiful as promised by our server, but no flavor. The white sauce and Monterey jack cheese were also very bland. Homemade flour tortilla?? Couldn't tell you if I was eating a tortilla or damp cardboard - again, no flavor.
Two of the group had a waldorf chicken salad and enjoyed it, and the 2 who had burgers were satisfied. The chicken bowtie pasta was just so-so, according to the woman who ordered it. The brisket sandwich got the highest scores from our group.
We chose to sit outside because it was way more attractive than inside, which had a lingering musty odor that was quite unpleasant.
There are so many restaurants to choose from on the east side of Tucson - Dakota has slid to the bottom of my list for where to eat in that neighborhood.
We ordered 2 spinach salads and 2 grilled chicken sandwiches. All 4 of us were satisfied with the quality and amount of food. Desserts were Crème Brule and chocolate torte. Yummy
We love to dine here. The staff is friendly and will always make your dining experience great! The courtyard and patio are excellent places to dine, especially if you decide to dine with your doggie. Love Dakota. I've enjoyed this restaurant for more than 20 years!
Been going to the Dakota for over 20 years and never an unsatisfactory meal either for lunch, dinner or brunch.
