   My partner and I have been here several times and never had a bad meal. Went today with family for my dad’s 60th. The food wasn’t as good as it normally is, the brisket was quite dry, the Mac and cheese was awful, I’d even go as far as not edible, none of us on the table enjoyed it and ended up leaving it. The pasta was so mushy not a pleasant texture at all. I’ve had it before and it’s never been this bad. All the servers were lovely as usual, it just sucks that the food this time wasn’t good. It was disappointing as my family hadn’t been there before and I’d raved so much about it which is why we booked. My family have said they wouldn’t go back anytime soon. I think I’ll leave it for a bit before I book again, or go to the Mulgrave one. This isn’t to say the food here is bad, just today it was no where near as good as what it normally is.

   Great place for an after work or adult catch up. We chose the carnivore platter for 4 of us. Ample delicious food. We needed to take some home ! We sat in side tables area which was great for hearing the music as well as being able to have a conversation between ourselves. Definitely a place we will come back to.

   We ordered the big meat platter and that was amazing. Really good food and plenty of it. Service could have been a little better. We had to ask for the table to be Clear’s twice. Overall great experience

   Was very disappointed, booking wasn’t easy trying to get onto the place by phone was non existent. The staff really didn’t care they stood around chatting and made you feel like you were inconveniencing them by wanting to order a drink . Unfortunately for a lovely place it wasn’t very organised at all

   We have dined here alot and have really enjoyed the food and love coming back. This time we bought friends for bday and was really disappointed. I realise they were busy but service was terrible, no plates or glasses taken away, food wasn't as good as usual and the band was ridiculously noisy that you couldn't hear anybody talk. The fact that I booked and they still put us on a massive table didn't help the noise factor. Asked to move but were booked out. Even though I had booked. Will still come back because we have loved it before. Just disappointed that we bought friends with us this time.

   Food was great, big servings. Delicious. It arrived quickly after ordering. My only complaint was just how insanely loud the music was. We were shouting at each other across the table. Thats the only reason I wont come back. Its not the sort of place to go for good conversation.

   Hi C. The main room is advertised as Loud and Lively when you book.. We have the 'Laneway' area for Quieter Dining where the music is kept to a minimum. I'd recommend (If you're looking to come back) book in there and we'll make sure you have a great night.

    Ok, here we go. There has been a loyal group of us that have given a lot of time to Dainton’s, Carrum Downs. It has been both an impromptu catch up and a place of planned events. The beer is really good and the food, since the introduction of Q BBQ, fantastic. Depending on who is working, the staff are either great or couldn’t give a tinkers. But the final nail in this slowly descending coffin was St Paddy’s weekend, 2025. In the past, this stout driven event has proven to be a hit. It this year however, Dainton’s bewildering lack of advertising has all but killed the Irish vibe. The staff couldn’t care less, the other few patrons seem keen to move on and the shadowy attempts at Irish pub culture fell flat. With other breweries in our area, our group has decided this was our last visit. We wish nothing but success for Dainton’s and hope, in future, the luck of the Irish can be with them.

    Hi Ray. Obviously we're a bit disappointed by this one as this is our first St Patrick's event we've held.. We're not an Irish Pub, I'm not sure what you were expecting but as advertised we had 4 Stouts on tap, a specially brewed Irish Inspired Red Lager, Tasting Paddles of Irish Whiskey, & specially designed Whiskey cocktails, We gave away big silly hats and even had Kegs of green lager brewed... Beyond that we had the amazing Internationals playing (featuring Jimi Hocking of the Screaming Jets) bashing out Irish rock anthems. Maybe you guys coming for lunch meant you missed out on all the fun in the evening? If you like i can send videos of the night time to show you it was a great night? . could you email me on venue@dainton.beer with some ideas how to improve. Sláinte.
