Daily Grill - Los Angeles
Book your next event with us
Very friendly staff and good food. Convenient to airport.
1. Trout did not taste like fish-nasty,
2. Burger did not taste fresh, very oily,
3. Strawberry short cake was not a cake. It was A Pasty Biscuit with runny watery syrup.
We sent all three back to the kitchen.
Ordered a wedge salad which was fine. Cant really mess up lettuce.
Ordered the chicken wings. Generic
Waiter was attentive and apologetic.
They said they were doing away with the point system when I inquired. But I pulled it up on the web and they then applied.
Service was lacking and the attention to the quality and presentation of the meal was much less than prior visits.
Sand dabs have been removed
Frequent diner program suspended
Prices have been raised too high
Must have chicken pie
Server Bill was very attentive, As i t was late afternoon the restaurant was relatively quiet. All the dishes were up to the Daily Grill's high standards.
A few issues with our Friday evening meal before a concert at the Forum. 1 order was entirely incorrect and two were severely overcooked. One member of the wait staff did not know what ranch dressing was for the buffalo wings. Waiter did not have a good grasp of the bar selections. We saw our waiter speaking to the manager about the issues and manager never came over. Waiter did offer us complimentary dessert, but we declined as we ran out of time.
Our server Marilyn was great; however it took quite a while for the food to arrive, a good 20 minutes and we were there early!
Our server was wonderful. Service was great. Food was very good
A group of us stopped here during an overnight stay in Los Angeles between very long airplane trips. This restaurant was an excellent choice. The food was good, with a lot of attractive selections. The wine list was manageable with good selections by the glass. Service was fast, very professional, and friendly: fast without being rushed. The welcome was efficient and rather cool. The ambience is quite nice; what you would expect from a business casual kind of dining room, but with very nice touches: wood paneling/lighting, etc. It was a bit expensive, but about what you would expect for this level at a Westin hotel near the Los Angeles airport.
Nice place to eat. We got there early and got our choice of seats. Nice wait staff. Food was pretty good.
Quick dinner before heading to the Forum for a concert. The restaurant is in a convenient location to LAX and the Forum off of Century. The atmosphere of the restaurant was fine as was the food. The service was very slow. It took about 25mins before the waiter asked us what we wanted to drink. In addition, when we exited the parking lot, one member of the party did not have a parking validation that worked. For myself, the validation, covered two hours, but with the wait times we were there for an extra 30mins. This extra 30mins costed us $20 plus $2 in tax for a total of $22. The waiter said that you only are are charged 25% of the rate, which the hotel posts as $40. This was inaccurate information. The restaurant really needs to do more to advise patrons of these rates so as to not be surprised when exiting the parking lot.
The DG is pretty steady. And this was no exception. The service was a little spotty because our server was covering too many tables. There was no real attention, but it was still okay. We ordered 2 burgers, both were overdone. My bacon was forgotten, but they brought it and when I added it was way too salty. We didn’t have time to tarry, on our way to see Elton John, so we quickly forgot about our food.
Set up reservation a week in advance. Timing worked out perfectly. Special occasion was for Elton John concert at the Forum. Staten was our server and was perfect with his timing and delivery. He was sensitive to the fact of our show times. The food was done just right and the drinks were tasty and not over done. We had the skirt steak salad and salmon with vegetables. Drinks were cosmos with Tito’s vodka and an old fashioned. Desert was key lime pie to share. We had an amazing time and would highly recommend this Daily Grill location for eating before your airport flights and Forum concerts. Thank you Staten for being professional and on your game.
Dinner was awesome and it was a full menu for New Year's Eve! The service, ambiance, and drinks were very good as well. Definitely would dine there again.
We had Christmas dinner here. It was very enjoyable. The servers were exceptional, and the atmosphere was great. Food was the Daily Grill's standard of high quality - we loved it!
Extremely Disappointing Christmas Dinner!
I used to LOVE Daily Grill, but they have deteriorated significantly, if this experience is any indication of their current state. First off, my Open Table reservation was not confirmed when we gave our name, so I received an email (as we were departing our disappointing meal) asking why I was a no-show. We had to return to the host station to get this rectified.
The restaurant was not busy at all when we arrived at exactly 4pm, yet the service was remarkably slow, including just being greeted and giving our beverage order and receiving those beverages. We ordered iced tea and water. Once we finally received those, even though straws were not offered (which is great with us), we weren't even offered spoons or sweetener. When we requested those, the spoons we received were, basically, soup spoons - they were absolutely huge and not at all appropriate for beverages.
We started with an order of onion rings, which were brought promptly and were quite delicious. Then, my guest and I ordered identical meals of Char-broiled 12 oz. rib-eye cooked medium, and identical sides of creamed spinach and mashed potatoes, for a whopping price of $37.75 each! Our steaks were both so overcooked, there was not even a hint of pink in either one. I was absolutely starving after traveling that day, so I begrudgingly ate mine out of dire hunger. My guest took about two bites of his and gave up. The garlic butter would have made them delicious if they weren't so overcooked.
The red mashed potatoes were good, but a bit dry. I had to ask for brown gravy to give them some moisture. The creamed spinach was runny and seemed pre-made/packaged.
Our server checked back with us ONCE to see how we were doing, toward the end of our meal. We explained our disappointment and she told us that it happens frequently (?).
Because of the slow service, we exceeded our 2 hr free parking by 10 mins and were told we would have to pay $22(!) which we refused.
Victor, our server, was helpful and polite. Good food.
Good location near LAX if you have to be in the area. One caveat, even with validation, the parking costs as much as dinner.
Dinner was delicious had short ribs with horseradish mashed potatoes
And filet taco for appetizer
They don't have the brick chicken any more! That was soooo good.
The new chicken dish (a dry curry kabob like dish) was dry and the side veggies were ho hum.
The server warned us it was a light meal. Sure enough. It's enough for me. But if someone is really hungry, no. Definitely, no doggie bag needed.
On the plus side, my friend ordered the pot pie (she's done that before) and was very happy.
Excellent wings and fish dinner! Cocktail was yummy as well!
Very good food and service. Restaurant is inside the Westin at LAX. Good location. Validate parking receipt for 2 hours.
Good food and fast service. Went here before flight out of LAX. Notable parking validated when using parking at hotel.
I had friends staying at the Westin Airport who wanted to go to this restaurant. It was good. Nothing spectacular and nothing really bad. Not super healthy food options if that is what you are going for. I normally go to healthier types of restaurants.
The service was awful. Our waiter argued with my friend when they brought the wrong wine. They said they wouldn’t charge her but did. It was not worth the money!
Salmon entree was good, but my dining companion did not care for his Moroccan chicken dish, which he said lacked flavor. Salads were large and fresh. Service was efficient and pleasant.
Great pre-Forum dinner. Prime rib and superb old fashioned with walnut bitters 👍🏻 free valet parking
Shoe leather steak and cold mash potatoes doesn't a good meal make
I ordered the special Greek Salad with chicken. Worst salad Ive ever eaten. Abut 2 pieces of feta cheese and the dressing was mainly oil. Oh and there was one cucumber piece. It was just awful! I was very disappointed! The Westlake Grill is awesome but this one was terrible!
The restaurant is fine, but the food was bland and not high quality. Service was great so that was a plus. I only went there because I didn’t feel like leaving the hotel. Won’t go again.
Average hotel food at the Airport Westin, LA. Outside seating is nice.
Too noisy. Waited too long to receive check. Otherwise great.
Daily grill has always been consistently good. Not great but good.
Food is so so. Very loud. We were there for 2 hrs n 10 mins and had to pay $22 for parking as the restaurant only validate the 1st two hrs. The other 10 mins cost us $22!
Second time dining here before a concert at the Forum, with Sergio as server. The food is good quality and fairly priced and Sergio is a very pleasant and attentive server. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice, though the rest of the hotel could definitely use a remodel/refresh. Great pre-concert option to eating overpriced fast food/junk food and drinks at the Forum!
The restaurant is VERY busy & noise, but that is to be expected near LAX. The food is “ok”..
VERY large portions, so easy to share with 1-2 people. The service was 10+...excellent!
I would not drive out of my way to eat here, but it is a good choice if you are trying to stay close to LAX.
We are as part of a business trip to LA. The staff was professional and respectful. They gave us the proper amount of attention without interfering with our meal.
Good food, bartender mixed a good drink and the ambiance was just right.
Took my teenage daughter to dinner here prior to the Harry Styles concert at the forum. There are limited options with proximity to the forum, outside of fast food restaurants or bars. As first glance, I was wary, as the restaurant is located in a older, dated Westin hotel and the parking structure had parking rates reflecting $20 for the first hour. Once inside the restaurant/lounge, it was nice and a bit more updated than the surrounding hotel, though a bit dark (some lighter paint/drapes/pendant lighting would be nice). Our waiter was very accommodating and pleasant. I enjoyed the flaky pot pie, while my daughter enjoyed the pesto pasta. The portions are generous and fairly priced. We were also celebrating my daughter’s birthday and the server brought a complimentary dessert with candle for her, while whistling Happy Birthday! Would definitely come here again next time we go to the forum! The restaurant also validates for two hours parking (so we paid $0).
