food was gross and the carpet smells like it was installed in 1988.
Very loud today
Service was incredibly slow but waiter was terrific
Fish and Chips were cold
Our waitress, Lupe was excellent!!!
We've been many times on our way to, or back home from, LAX. For those airport trips for which we want a nice sit-down lunch or dinner, Daily Grill is a consistently great choice. Last night two of us had the salmon Caesar salad, and the third of us had the chicken Caesar salad. We all thought the food was really good.
Most trips, In-n-Out is the drive-through solution for hungry travelers. When we prefer a nice meal and a good visit, we choose Daily Grill. Last night we sat outside, in a seating area that's fine for those of us who remain cautious re pandemic matters.
the blackened shrimp was fabulous! The apple martini was very tasty too
So our experience started with a couple across from us and the woman throwing her margarita on the man she was with. That drink also soaked the table behind them. Our meal in total was 3 courses and took 2 hours. We had to ask for the bread & butter from the bus boy. Had to ask twice for plates so we could share the first course salad. It was marked as a birthday lunch and the carrot cake came out with no candle. It was just very underwhelming. The staff was kind. There was no attitude or rudeness. But they are struggling. It was supposed to be a nice birthday lunch but it just fell flat. We love the Daily Grill in Palm Desert and thought we would get a similar experience.
Daily Grill menu is great and food is always tops!
I won’t be eating there again the food was so bland
The restaurant promised 2 hours of free parking but only gave us one hour. The parking was half the cost of the meal. That’s the last time I will go there for a business meal.
I eat at the Daily Grill a lot - when I am flying out of LAX and always love it. But this time it seemed that the food lacked the usual great flavor/ taste. I will go back but something was a little off this time.
The service was slow and unwelcoming. I saw myself snd others having to find servers to help.
Restaurant was understaffed, but the waitstaff did their best to make up for the delays. Food was mediocre for the price. Had a Cobb salad blue cheese omelette that had way too few vegetables to imply a salad and the chicken was very dry. That combined with bacon and crumbled blue cheese meant lots of coffee needed to wash it down.
Out of the 1000+ restaurants I’ve eaten at in the last 15 years of consulting all over North America and Europe, Guadalupe may have been in the top three of all the servers I’ve have encountered.
Father’s Day dinner. Items on the menu were not available. Ordered 3 wedge salads to go. Missing salad dressing after we asked for extra dressing.
Everything was great. Our server Leonardo was amazing!
This was the first time I had been indoors at a restaurant in a long time. We were taking my mother to brunch for Mother's Day, and she's liked the Daily Grills in other locations. Plus it was the day before, and there weren't many places available near where she lives.
My first impression was that the place could use a little freshening up. The ambience is not terrible for a hotel restaurant (Westin at LAX), but it seemed a little dusty. Also, they were definitely shorthanded for such a busy shift, and it didn't seem like there were any busboys to help clear tables, bring water and menus, etc. They had a special holiday brunch menu, but nothing appealed to us, so we ordered from their regular lunch menu. The choices weren't as tempting as I remember them being from other Daily Grills, but it was fine. We all found things we liked--skirt steak salad, Cobb salad and cheeseburger with fries, and the food was actually very good. The poor overworked wait staff were very nice and did their best to make everyone feel welcome and to circle back as much as possible. When we were about to leave, I thought I had left my iPhone at the table, and the hostess was nice enough to promptly check with all the wait staff. Turns out it was wedged between the car seat and the console. Typical.
I thought Daily Grill had a brunch service but when I got there I was told that they didn’t . They stop serving breakfast at 11:00 am. I got there at 10:50 and it took them 15 minutes to send someone to take my order.
Travel for work and meet up with a family member. Good food and atmosphere
Because of COVID we sat outside which was fine, but not as appealing as the interior of the restaurant. Our server was excellent as was the food. We meet relatives there twice a year and always enjoy their offerings.
The food was ok and the ambiance was quite. The tables were not fully cleaned. Overall expected more from this place
For a Covid restricted environment with very limited customer seating I would have expected the service and food to be better even for the daily grill. “Which has an excellent reputation”. This was VERY disappointing as the server was slow and inattentive. And my food was cold, and much flavor, the plate did not look pretty. It was just not what I would’ve expected for a daily grill.
Extremely slow. Took 45 minutes to get the salad and an hour and a half to be served the main course
Food was good and the service was amazing
DG has long been a favorite menu and usually the ambiance and service are great. Though I do understand that Covid has dealt restaurants a major blow, there are those that rise to the challenge and those that do not. Not only was this location woefully understaffed, the manager was rude and unapologetic for the issues. Since we have long experienced much better everything - even at this location, I would just say that maybe they need to be closed until they can figure out how to adapt appropriately.
I enjoyed the food. I had French toast with bacon and potatoes and 2 mimosas.
It could’ve just been an off night for this restaurant, but I won’t let that excuse the lackluster food and service we received. My friend’s food came out undercooked & missing a side, and once it was sent back to be fixed it was over cooked & we discovered some of it had gone rancid (salmon stuffed with crab). My food was pretty good, but one of my sides were cold and overall it lacked seasoning (lamb with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach) Also, service could’ve been better as far as attentiveness and anticipating the need. The salads for appetizers were great, and the dessert we took home was delicious! That was probably the best part of the meal, and that’s a problem.
Considering that dining was held outside due to Covid-19, the overall experience was very good. Delicious selection and large portions. Excellent service. Good valet service but expensive.
Food was excellent. The service was very slow. Not sure why they were so slow. There were only six tables being served. It took forever just to bring us our soup.
We had an over nite layover at an LAX hotel. There are very few options to choose from in the area. The Daily Grill is located at the Westin Hotel. It has been scaled back to a smallish outdoor area which was shaded but somewhat hot because of the August heat. Our server was very friendly and pleasant but had too many tables to handle by herself. She apologized multiple times for the service lag and explained the restaurant had been finding it hard to predict staffing needs due to COVID and the fluctuating customer volumes. All of the food was worth the wait. Everything was fresh and made from scratch. Highly recommended are the Club Sandwich, Bleu Cheese Burger, Sweet Potato Fries, Key Lime Pie and Carrot Cake. The margaritas were very good too.
Outdoor heaters were not working. Servers mask was not well placed.
We were astounded that this once wonderful place was on life support. Dirty glassware and dishes stacked up in the bar and near kitchen. We left just after taking a seat.
The Daily Grill always delivers excellent food at affordable prices. The ambience and attentive service are the icing on the cake!
I was running late for my reservation but they graciously accommodated me. My server was very friendly and knowledgable. All of the food was good (not great, but still good) except the main dish, the filet mignon, which was just okay. It lacked flavor. The only menu item that really stood out for its taste was the sweet potato fries. The server was not overbearingly attentive or disruptive to our meal. We both ordered the mashed potatoes as side dishes but the server informed us that there was a mishap and the potatoes were unservable. No big deal as he was very kind about it and patient as we made other choices. The prix fixe menu online that I was hoping for is out of date which was kind of disappointing but, again, the service made up for it. Overall, it was a good experience. What was lacking in the food was made up for in the service so I'd likely return one day.
Daily Grill is our go to favorite restaurant! Go for the great bread and check out their varied menu!
we arrived at a few minutes before 11 on a sunday morning and were handed the lunch menu. we had driven there for sunday brunch on our way to the airport, so we asked if we could order breakfast. the waiter asked the kitchen and the kitchen agreed to make us breakfast. it took close to 10 minutes for that to happen. it then took close to another 20 minutes for the waiter to return and take our order. we both ordered dishes involving corned beef hash. the corned beef in the hash was practically entirely fat and the "hash" was more like a stew. unappetizing to say the least. I didn't eat mine and when the waitress asked "how was everything" I told her the food was unpleasant. she offered to get me something else. We'd been there over an hour, but I was still hungry so I asked for some fruit. She brought me large slices of pineapple and watermelon that included skin. she didn't bring any silverware. I found some on a nearby table. when she brought the check we hadn't been charged for the 2 corned beef hash dishes so that was nice, but I won't be going back.
Okay for cooked meals, but pretty poor entree salads. Three of us got those and none of us liked ours. Mine was ahi tuna salad. Would you believe that the tuna was a bright red hot dog?! At least it looked like a hot dog. What the heck were they thinking of?? And the thing was crazy spicy, unpleasantly so. Making a tuna steak to look like an imitation hot dog just makes no sense. But the spinach artichoke dip was excellent.
I found a new “go to” restaurant when I stay near LAX conveniently located in the Westin hotel, next to Thrifty Car Rental. It is within walking distance of other hotels near LAX and is worth the walk. My wife and I enjoyed the Shrimp Pomodoro and Moroccan Spiced Chicken. Be sure to leave room for dessert, the apple blueberry fruit cobbler was a nice finish to the meal. Sergio provided excellent service.
Everything is always good, the food, service, value, cleanliness etc....
