Lovely atmosphere. Fantastic food and interesting wine choices. Service attentive and friendly. A bit pricey but worth it. This is my second trip and not my last. A great night out and lively scene to share with friends. Crispy lamb is a must!
My friend and I were seated on time for our patio reservation, but our waitress walked over and immediately made a snarky comment, obviously upset that she had to work the patio on a cold night, despite the heaters. We just left rather than deal with unpleasantness during dinner. To Dagon I say don't do outside dining this winter if your staff resents it so much. We walked a few short blocks over to the heated patio at Cibo e Vino, where the staff was superbly welcoming, and we had a lovely time.
The restaurant was amazing!!
Great spot for brunch - delicious food and a great ambience!
Sautéed cauliflower, Israeli salad and eggplant flatbread were all delicious. Service was excellent. Look forward to returning.
Had such high expectations, given what I've heard about this place.
Food - just average; nothing special.
Lovely brunch, with a delicious shakshuka with a special bread right out of the oven. Looking forward to returning for dinner with a group to sample as many of the dishes as possible.
Great neighborhood restaurant with delicious food and good service
Would have preferred to be seated before full party arrived. Beer and the lemon tart could have been better chilled. Otherwise, nice meal & festive scene
The lunch menu is very small, with few vegetarian options. That said, everything we had was first rate. And the dinner menu is expansive. While the hostess who seated us was cold as ice, the rest of the staff was terrific. We will certainly go back
Great find! Outstanding Mezcalita cocktail! Interesting, creative, flavorful dishes. Very comfortable retro '70's vibe. Fantastic service. Music could've been a decibel or two lower.
Every aspect is truly wonderful besides the noise level that doesn't allow for a conversation.
Fabulous food and service!
AMAZING!! Everything is made in house from scratch and you can tell the difference.
The mezze were unbeliably fresh and the tastes perfectly balanced (to my palate, anyway).
I don't usually order dessert in restaurants because it's never worth the cost or calories, but the Silan... I don't even know what I was eating, but it was one of the most delicious desserts I've ever had in my life.
Service was super friendly and servers were knowledgeable about the menu.
Dinner was fantastic, loved all of the Israeli flavor profiles, service was stellar, and the food was even better....
Great new restaurant for the Upper West Side. Food is great and we loved the setting and the service. We will return many times.
Awesome food and all around dining experience. Excellent service. Unique and outstanding food. Can’t wait to go again.
Loved the food, service was excellent. My only complaint is the noise level. It was very difficult to hold a conversation.
A combo Mezze and Israeli Sauvignon Blanc was so perfect 😍
Small portions but yummy
I have been to Dagon at least 5 times. This was my first indoor seating. The food has always been very tasty if on the expensive side. This time I ordered a small plate of hamachi. When it came, there were 3 tiny transparent rounds with some condiments on it. Normally, I would send food back that did not meet expectations. This time however I did not, since this was a special occasion with my husband. It is unfair to serve food like this. I hope that you will take this to heart.
The food, drinks and service were excellent.
I frequently dine here . The service really needs to improve. I couldn’t find anyone to place my order for a while.
The food is great
Our server was fantastic. Food was a little slow coming from the kitchen. But, overall a great evening. A new favorite spot on the UWS!
Schnitzel was tasty, especially the sauce. But restaurant was too loud for comfort.
Knowledgeable staff about the menu, courteous service, incredible food. Can’t wait to go back again! A little piece of Israel in Manhattan
Delicious food. Will definitely be going back. Wonderful!
Excellent. Thank you.
The food was mediocre at best. It did not live up to the hype.
Everything was bland and poorly presented. A must to avoid.
Definitely recommend everyone to go here and enjoy a proper night out.
Ate lunch outdoors. Food delicious, but the lunch menu is limited and expensive. I’ll be back for dinner any time.
Excellent food! Service was very friendly but our appetizers came out with our main course.
4 of us came for a birthday meal. Food was delicious. Everything had great flavors and preparation. Service was good but not outstanding as they are harried. The issue was the DEAFENING music. We couldn’t hear ourselves think let alone speak. We asked them to turn it down a notch and they refused. We will not go back and be seated indoors. If you value your hearing and want to actually have dinner conversation, sit outside.
The noise level has progressively gotten higher so now we find that it is impossible to have a meal and conversation enjoyably. That will be the single greatest reason we will not come back to and otherwise wonderful restaurant.
The food was excellent, but the service was ... frankly ... not so good. From waiters hovering too close and too long, removing food too soon, not providing proper utensils or plateware, to pouring the dregs of a wine bottle into a glass and then mixing it with another pour ...
The noise level was "painful." The food was average.
10/10, outstanding food, excellent team, highly recommend.
