Stellar service, spectacular cuisine, a welcome addition to the upper west side
Dagon is one of the best on the UWS. We’ve been making our way through the menu. So far, all has been delish.
A fabulous new edition to the culinary scene of UWS. I had the scallops for appetizers and the lamb for my entree. The lamb just fell off the bone and so tender and juicy. It was simply mouthwateringly good!
Appetizers and salads were delicious Main courses of Lamb and Salmon were disappointing. Lamb was over cooked and Salmon was kind of 'fishy'. Disappointing for a new UWS restaurant that we had high hopes would yield a great improvement in local options. Service was slow and still learning.
Amazing food, great service, creative wine list and cocktail. decibel levels were off the charts....very very loud!
Unbelievable food. Keep coming back for the chicken liver mousse, the whipped eggplant with lemon compote and red pepper and almond dip. Their fresh bread with Zatar is addictive. Great fish, salad and exotic gnocchi. The desserts are too elaborate and dully sweet. Nice cocktail with herbs. But despite a generally mature clientele, the ghastly music blasts like a disco. It’s torture. Eat outside if you can.
So excited to try out our new neighborhood restaurant! Wanted to see for ourselves what the buzz was about. For older people as we are, far too loud. Could hardly hear each other talk.
Super interesting and different menu. Appreciate that. And quite good cuisine overall. BUT scallops overdone and too chewy, not soft enough. Would have been excellent, but perhaps too late in the evening and they had been cooked earlier? Dough around the dumplings far too heavy and chewy. Lighten up guys! And lamb excellent.
Service good. By far one of the more expensive restaurants in our area.
service was excellent
food was delicious
we had the perfect table to celebrate a very special birthday
they were totally wonderful
all in all the perfect night !
Love having Dagon in the neighborhood. The Kubaneh bread it outstanding. Don't miss it! Also love the cocktails especially the margarita with the zaatar rimmed glass.
Food is superb although serving size for the mezze is on the small side
Food was disappointing. Under-seasoned and generally bland with no sense of excitement in the dishes.
Excellent food and good service. Would go back and will recommend to friends
Very delicious outdoor dining but clear there is not enough waitstaff
Outstanding food, but a little too loud inside. This restaurant is a great addition to the UWS, and we will definitely be going back. The mezze plates, chicken, and branzino are delicious. The waitstaff could have been a little more attentive, as it seemed to take several minutes longer than we would have liked to obtain our drinks and checks. We also found the restaurant a little too loud. The music volume was too high, making it difficult to hear the other members of my table. Turn down the volume, and I would give this place a high rating!
Lovely. Delicious. Pricey. Very pricey.
wonderful restaurant. We ate outside because inside is very noisy
Always enjoy dinners at Dagon and can't wait to get back. Food is amazing!! Love this new addition to the neighborhood!
Very noisy, but great food, drinks and service! Will be back
Loved the food and the spirited environment. I’ll be back soon.
Much too noisy to talk with friends. Reservation time was changed without my permission and we had to wait for the table.
Need to do something about the noise level. Otherwise awonderful authentic Israeli restaurant!
First time visiting this restaurant. The waiter and service was excellent. The food was fresh and extremely delicious.
Food is authentic and delicious, but portions could be a little bigger for the prices.
Excellent food and service. Fun atmosphere. Great cocktails and wine choices. My wife family enjoyed it. And the octopus flat bread? Fuggeddaboutit!
The lamb dish was special. Had a very nice time at this upbeat place.
This is my new favorite restaurant and I’m so thrilled it’s on the upper West side. Absolutely delicious and every dish has a special something about it that makes it unique and wonderful.
I appreciated being able to add someone to our reservation with short notice and the COVID procedures when we checked in. The restaurant is beautiful inside. Our server was a bit "aggressive" (both my guests used that word to describe the service). Two of us ordered the special (black see bass with zucchini in a "spicy tomato sauce"). I asked twice if I could have the sauce on the side and was assured by the waiter that it wasn't overly spicy. Well, that was mostly true, however, there was so much sauce that I couldn't taste the fish or zucchini. All I tasted was the not-too-spicy tomato sauce. We gave the waiter our feedback and I hope the kitchen considers this in the future.
Finally, we didn't appreciate having to constantly prevent the staff from taking plates with food on them off the table. What's the rush?
I'd think twice before going back.
Outstanding food, beautifully presented. Service was terrific as well. Would highly recommend.
Good date spot
This was my third visit and this time we were 4 rather than 2, so we ordered lots of small plates and reveled in their flavor and variety. I just love their food!
Pretty place, nice service. Food was so-so. I had a specialty highball with an ice cube brick that took up 2/3 of an already skinny glass. My hummus was about 4 tablespoons in a bowl the size of a bathroom sink. The lamb entree was a big brown mound-not to my taste. Not sure what all the buzz is about.
Great service, delicious food. It's easy to see why this place is so popular. It would probably be best for a medium or large group - the dips and small plates are a highlight, but it's easy to fill up on them at a table of 2.
The food was very good, flavorful and fresh. We really enjoyed the atmosphere. Felt the dishes were slightly overpriced for the amount of food, but the quality may have made up for it. Highly recommend the BBQ chicken and homemade breads!
Delicious food and great service in a wonderful setting!
Outstanding addition to the neighborhood. Every menu item we tried, from cocktail to appetizer to entree, was a great taste. And the service couldn't have been more pleasant. A real winner!
Great modern Israel food. Varied menu, interesting drinks.
Food was excellent! I would definitely go back. Recommend!!
A friend of mine recommended this restaurant , it was my first time. Some of the reviews I’ve seen prior to dinner were a bit harsh . I can tell you I would go there again in a heartbeat , the food was excellent and the service. Oscar could not of done a better job staying on top of everything . I’m also somebody that never writes a review that’s how impressed I was with this place 👍😍
Everything was good and service was very friendly.
Birthday- loved it!
