Dacha management invited us back to give the restaurant a 2nd chance. We are glad we took them up on the offer. Round 2 was a much better experience. Larger portions, food was great. Tried a few cocktails which were interesting and tasty. Awesome service. Fun time overall!
The worst. Ordered a salad w grilled chicken. One hour and fifteen minutes later it arrived half cooked. Chicken was pink. Horrible service, food and very loud. Too many good restaurants in the area to even risk it. Go someplace else
I had high hopes for our brunch visit, and unfortunately the experience left a lot to be desired. It took us over 20 minutes to get service once we were seated. And then another 45 minutes for the food to come out. Other tables sat after us were getting their items before us. My dish was cold (although the sauce itself was great!) and others showed signs of being left under the warmer for a while, so I am not sure what happened? Portion sizes for entrees are small, especially for the price paid.
The manager did help with the bill to try to make it right by our table, but our group ultimately left disappointed.
Third time in a week’s time and it was just as perfect as the first time. It also didn’t hurt to be back with our favorite server, Henry. Highly recommended for brunch and dinner.
Way too loud . Don’t go on a Friday or Saturday
The brunch food was great, everyone in my family enjoyed. Unfortunately service was a bit slow, the place was packed with brunch groups and our family of 8 could barely hear each other over the yelling and club music. Decor and futuristic bathrooms are cool, though. Love the vibe!
If you can avoid sitting inside, do so, get one of the outdoor tables or hang by the fireplaces.
Great atmosphere and German inspired food; amazing beer selection. Can't wait for spring to try the beer garden.
We had a top-notch experience thanks to our waiter, Henry. He was attentive and ensured that every member of our party was well-served and having a good time.
Every single person in our 6-top credits Henry for our shared, great experience at Dacha. We sincerely hope that he sticks around Dacha Navy Yard for a good, long time. Thank you!
Overall, the experience was ok. They don't have many options for vegans so I could only choose from a salad or a cauliflower appetizer. The food was bland. I was looking for that "wow" factor to celebrate my birthday and this just wasn't it.
Fun spot, but getting the waiters attention was a challenge and drinks were very slow to arrive.
Food is pretty mediocre and some was even kinda bland. Of the four menu items we ordered only one was really good (the burger). The pricing is also a little higher than competitive places such as Due South, Circa, Blue Jacket, or Agua 301 so I was expecting better from the food. I would stick to other neighborhood places which have better tasting menu items at a slightly cheaper price.
Great brunch in the yard. Excellent service with great coffee, drinks and food. Good service too.
Great food, good atmosphere, but not sure why they feel the need to add an 18% service charge to the bill.
Enchanted with family. Nice meal - very friendly and comfortable. Option for kids at dinner a little shy. Lucky our grandchild liked meatballs (they were good). First time there - I will go back.
The food was good but the overall experience definitely lacked. Six of us placed our orders at the same time and everyone received their food at different times. The waitress didn’t really check in with us and didn’t seem to worry about our food coming out on time until she did check on the table and realized the last person never got their food. Also the lighting in the bathrooms is very intense and honestly kind of off putting.
First time I’ve ordered off of the regular menu. Everything was great. Service, food, and wine.
My Partner In Munch and I came here to enjoy brunch, we dined on ........
Brunch Plate: the cornmeal pancakes were the best, the over easy eggs were cooked well and the potatoes tasted great
Pretzel Rolls: soft and delicious
Now here's the thing, the Steak & Eggs: I ordered my steak medium well, it came to the table TOO rare and on the second attempt it return to the table in the same condition. By then I was over it!
The owner was very helpful with this matter, she provided us with wonderful service.
We highly recommend the bottomless drink options !
We were the only people here for brunch on a Sunday. Prices were a little higher than the average DC brunch. The food was outstanding.
Expected more based on the prior ratings. It was ok. Arrived 15 min early as instructed and didn’t seem aware of our reservation - had to set up the table. Nice cocktail selection. Beer was the highlight. Pretzel bites were good. Server had an outgoing personality but seemed annoyed by us a few times when we asked questions. We ordered mussels which came out cold. Burger was fine. Veal sausages and lobster buscatini were good but nothing special. It’s right by the ballpark which is convenient.
We had our orders come and they did not bring the last one. After waiting 5 mins for the server to come check on us I brought it up and waited another 15 minutes. The chicken and waffles was undercooked and not good. We then ordered 3 drinks and the waiter brought us four and charged for four and said we did not confirm the 3 and not 4 so charged for the 4. I was disappointed and will not return. No apologizes or acknowledgement that they clearly forgot the last meal and rushed it out.
Horrible experience. I wish I could have that 90 mins and $70 back. I did brunch with the unlimited drinks and in 90 mins we had 3. I guess because the servers already are getting an automatic 18% gratuity, they don’t care about actual service. And I tried to flag down another server and he said he couldn’t take my drink order because he wasn’t my server. The food was cold. And average taste at best. I would never go back here. There are so many great places in DC. Don’t waste your time and money here.
The food was really good. We went for brunch that started today so it was a little disorganized which wasnt unexpected. The website is misleading regarding the brunch. There are 2 beverage options. No food is included and everyone has to do the bottomless cocktails. Gratuity is 18% regardless of party and it's a cash less restaurant as well.
The happy hour burger is worth raving about and a bargain as well.
Beautiful ambiance but one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in D.C. Servers not trained on the menu, none of my friends enjoyed the food (except the fries), restaurant out of many items, not to mention the manager was working on her laptop at one of the high tops and was not helping any of her staff with anything. After working in the restaurant industry for over 10 years I am probably more picky than most. However, when people are waiting at the front to be sat, large parties are in the restaurant, tables haven’t been checked on in 15-20 minutes, our bill took 15 minutes to split a check, and the manager is just clicking away on her laptop in the public eye, I find that to be annoying. I have always loved going to the beer garden but I would stay clear of the brunch for sure in the future. I have probably only sent back food 2 or 3 times in my life and I found the shrimp and grits to be inedible.
Amazing!!! Service was perfect
Restaurant ran out of food and didn’t not inform us before we sat down and ordered drinks.
Understanding it was Nats World Series day, but selection was very limited (8 choices) nothing for the health conscious person.
I am sure on a normal day the place would be better.
The First MLB World Series Game in DC since the Great Depression!
Great atmosphere right be the game!!
Good pub style restaurant food and located in a decent area if spending time on the SW River Walk is part of your regular routine. However, parking is both a challenge and expensive.
This was our first sit down meal at Dacha, we've been to the beer garden and bar for happy hours before and always enjoyed ourselves. All the food had great flavor, though the Nashville hot cauliflower was chopped up far too small, larger chunks of roasted cauliflower would be much better.
Service started really strong, but as the section filled up, it weakened. We were without water for a long while, and had to ask several different people. Dishes are a little pricey for what you get, but comparable to other Navy Yard restaurants. We'll come back sometime I'm sure.
Nationals playoffs- final game - pre game
Great place to before a Nats or DC United game.
Awesome pregame experience. We were happy to make a reservation and have a seat to eat before the game. Awesome food and service.
When my party (group of 8) went to celebrate a birthday, they literally had nothing on their menu left. We were only offered like 10 items to actually eat (and most were appetizers). They also did not let us know that they ran out of Shrimp Grits and proceeded to give one of my friends a random dish with shrimp that does not taste good at all and didn't acknowledge it. Will not be coming back again.
We went right before the Nats playoff game, so the area was buzzing with excitement. Our server Henry was fantastic and really made it an excellent visit. His drink recommendations were spot on, and he was fun. The food here is always average, but that's not really why you go to a place like this. It's just a fun, convenient pre-game venue. I'll be back.
Really, really disappointed. Sunday evening, October 6th, was not the first time we have been to the restaurant. Our previous experiences had been fine. But, the other night...what happened to the menu? The restaurant ONLY had the "bar food" or appetizers available. No salads. No entrees. I had even looked at the menu on the website earlier that day and there was no indication that half of the menu was going to be removed for the dinner service. So many other, better choices for dining in the area next time.
Bad I would not go back
The Wild Card menu (a converted Octoberfest menu) was a nice touch and perfect for our meal prior to the Wild Card game. The Sausagefest was fabulous. The seasonal beer menu is extensive and we loved the ones we chose. The ambiance couldn't be better - tables on the outdoor patio provided a view of the waterfront and water fountain on one side and Nats Park on the other. We will definitely be back before or after future Nats games.
