Da Vinci Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
Divinci was a great find while we were in Montreal. It was centrally located; an easy walk from my hotel. We were welcomed at the door by our waiter, Carlo, who was very friendly. He was very attentive to our needs and assisted with menu recommendations and with the wine selection. Food was presented in a timely manner and was exquisite. This was a a great find and recommend it to travelers and Montrealans. We will definitely return on our next trip to Montreal!
For several years now we have been going to Da Vinci for lunch each time we are in Montreal on our twice yearly, week and a half long stays. The quality and authenticity of the cuisine is consistently at the high level that we have known and come to expect over years of travel to Italy. This is our one Italian restaurant in Montreal. Impeccable service on this visit from Lavi and the team. Do not hesitate to go. You will not be disappointed.
We ordered the stuffed shrimp on a bed of risotto. When asked for a recommendation of a wine to match the meals, the waiter (Lavi) suggested suggested a bottle of the red house wine. It seemed like a strange recommendation but we went along with it thinking he would know the meal and their wine list. I don't think it was a particularly good match. It turns out he is new to the restaurant and, in hindsight, I don't think he knew much about their wine list and just defaulted to a house wine. The amuse bouche and bread was very tasty. The mains were decent but lacked that hit of flavour that makes you say wow. We were thrilled with our meal and experience the last time but this meal and experience fell short.
Service very attentive to nearby theater time. Authentic Italian with house-made pasta and highest quality meats. Recommend short-rib pasta, veal tenderloin, lamb chops. Delicious food, a bit heavy; next time we will order a little lighter. Only real disappointment was misreporting to/from OpenTable.
Excellent food and if you are lucky to have Carlos as your server, you are set for probably the best service you will receive.
Had the crab as an appetizer, I comes with a sauce on it, I think the crab would be tastier if left alone.
Other than that, We had a fantastic evening.
My mother and I traveled to Montreal from New Hampshire US. I had reviewed 100s of restaurants and had chosen this one based on reviews and overall appearance. From the moment we walked in until the moment we walked out we were fully catered to in every aspect. Recommendations and any questions we had had were fully accommodated. Our server was Lavi and he might have been almost the 'best' part of our expierience. He was AMAZING!
Da Vinci was a dining highlight while we were in Montreal. The food, especially our entrees,
was superb. The Lamb with risotto and the gian prawns stuffed with crab were absolutely
delicious. Our waiter, Carlo, was outstanding as was the romantic ambience of the room. I highly recommend this restaurant.
