Disappointed. Not very Italian. Don't understand your mix of food offerings. We certainly didn't like having to make our dessert choices so early. Usually, like to wait to see how much room we have left in our stomachs. The waiter didn't inform us that the gratuity was included. We found out ourselves after checking the receipt.
I liked Da Vinci. The staff were very nice, it all felt relaxed and was true to the way it pitched itself. The dishes vary from being standard - but very well cooked - Italian food to a few things that are slightly left field and we didn't want to risk. Nice wine and overall a much better experience than a nearby restaurant that was almost double the price.
My husband and our teenage daughter and I enjoyed a table for three on the outdoor balcony in a beautiful fall evening last weekend. The food was delicious and our server Dave is warm friendly and a master mine at the bar .... we enjoyed our evening. Thank you!
We love this restaurant - outstanding Italian food with creative updates. Pasta perfection and high quality ingredients. A fabulous Caesar salad. Beautiful dining room and great bar area a couple of blocks from Copley Square. Our go to place when we meet former work friends for dinner. Don't forget the desserts!
Da Vinci's is a neighborhood favorite of ours, but on this occasion we had only 45 minutes from start to finish in order to make curtain time at the theater. Our reservations were for an early seating on a weeknight, so we weren't too concerned, but still 45 minutes is tight. We told our server and he was awesome. He brought us our cocktail and salads right away, and put the dinner orders in, pastas to be quick. The manicotti was delicious. We made it to the theater in time. A very nice evening. I knew we could count on them to accommodate us.
Was in town for a conference and came solo. At 6:30 on a Friday, place was dead. However, by 7:30 it was bustling. Despite many tables for two and having a reservation, I was offered a seat at the bar first, which I found odd. I opted for a table, and they seat me directly facing one of the only groups in there at a time, which made me feel like a voyeur. Service was high quality but ittermitent, almost the right speed for an intimate dinner with your significant other where you want to enjoy each other in between courses. "The Sensation" cocktail was expertly mixed. I didn't care for either of the dips offered with the bread. PEI mussels were cooked perfectly and were quality, but neither the broth nor the bread (was more like a Wasa cracker) did much for me. I don't normally order a pasta dish, but an Italian place, I decided to try the Rigatoni Bolognese. Dish was perfectly portioned and was quite good. The wine suggested for pairing I very much enjoyed, and stood up to the bolognese. Pumpkin mousse was good, as was the espresso. The grappa recommended afterward was complex and interesting, and I really enjoyed it. Like any place, the staff is what dictates your experience, and I thought they did a great job despite the seating faux pas.
Nice and quiet ambiance. Smaller venue than I pictured but it was exactly what I wanted for a two person birthday dinner. The food tasted amazing and the lamb was exceptional. The wait staff was quick and helpful with menu suggestions. I would definitely consider coming back here
The fresh pasta options are limited. The food was flavorful and the portion sizes were appropriate. Service-wise, you have to actively time your own service. For example, saw several tables including ours where entrees were delivered halfway through appetizers. The restaurant is understaffed from a waiter perspective.
Half of the food was very good. One order was severely undercooked even though cooked through was requested. Restaurant was very understaffed for a Friday night and we were told there was no manager available. By the time we saw a waiter everyone else was finished. Not blaming the waiter. He tried to be accommodating. Not impressed. Will not go back. There are too many restaurants with good food and good service.
The items that we ordered didn't come as described. Green salad with watermelon and strawberries had no strawberries. Chocolate soufflé did not come with vanilla gelato as described, served strawberry. Baked pastry desert was supposed to be cherry, but was blueberry with chopped fresh strawberries on top and again no vanilla gelato. Served an extra dessert of tiramisu that had chopped pistachios on top and no real flavor just sweet with a crunch.
This was our second time at Da Vinci - and both experiences were excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive, while allowing us to enjoy our meals.
The arancini as a starter was a favorite, and the Indian fusion ravioli had some unexpected and delicious flavors. Looking forward to our next visit
