We showed up for a 7pm reservation. The restaurant was boarded up and closed for business. What’s worse is I made the reservation only a few days in advance, how did Open Table not know it was closed?
A poor experience since we were not able to try it. The restaurant is permanently closed and was actually being renovated when we went to the establishment for our reserved time! No notification from Opentable and we were not stopped from making a reservation. This is not a good reflection on Opentable. Fortunately, we were very lucky to get in to Olive Lucy’s for dinner (shout out to Steve - really saved the evening for us!).

Simply great! Wonderfully creative dishes and a nice vegetarian menu. One of the few restaurants in the area where vegetarian options are not an "after thought" but a prime part of their menu. Service was outstanding. Food was flavorful, hot, and healthy. They actually cared and were great about modifying entrees to one's personal liking. Will definitely be coming back!

Fourth meal I've had here. Never disappointed, always pleasantly surprised. This time's surprise was the seafood lasagna. Delicious. Start to finish, great food, excellent service. Can't wait to go back. Soon to start serving lunch. Should be a go to place for business lunches if you want to seal the deal.
My boyfriend and I have been here a few times and the food has been phenomenal each visit. Truffle gnocchi and the burrata are unreal, it’s a must order! The staff is always very attentive and our waiter this week week, Anthony, was amazing!
We've been here multiple times; the menu and special are always creative and outstanding. This continues to be our favorite restaurant in Morristown.
Service was incredible and the food was outstanding. Decor was a little strange but everything else made up for it.
Lobster and crab ravioli tasted frozen and they really need to come around with some Parmesan cheese! Kale and mushroom soup desperately needed salt or a cream touch. Hanger steak was greasy. Really mediocre. Could have made the wrong menu choices although, these were the specials. Really not worth the money.

met friends here for dinner Saturday night, food was outstanding, atmosphere a bit crowded & noisy, but the waiter was very pleasant/attentive & as mentioned, again the food was terrific. BYOB, fairly expensive, but worth it
In a crowded and fresh Morristown dining scene, Da Ristorante provides a pleasant dining experience. Their menu is small, but we have found ample selections on our two visits. The value of the food and the experience is aided by being a BYOB (liquor store right next store if you forget).
The appetizers were amazing (we had the meatballs and crab cake) and the dinner was top notch (Seafood Lasagna and Hanger Steak). Plating was beautiful and my only complaint was that the food came out a bit fast and we had very little time to settle the appetizers before the mains were being served. The restaurant is BYOB but there is a Liquor store right next store. We were there early (pre-show) and were the first ones in the resturant so service was no problem

Went last night food was outstanding. The burrata was exceptional as was the lasagna and truffle ravioli. The food rates up there with those we went to in Italy last year.
Highly recommend staff was also professional and knowledgable.
Alex waited on us he was very attentive made the whole experience that much better.

Went on a week night so it was rather quiet inside. On street parking is a bit of a hassle and the street meters are only 1 1/2 hours. (Montclair has the same silliness). Service was solid, the correct wine glasses and were proactive. No bread, but we didn't ask for it. We split the homemade filet stuffed Ravioli as an appetizer. They were terrific. We had a steak special and Bronzino over beans. Both were very good. Desert was limited and they were out of one, but we had a lemon cake and flan...both very good. This is a BYO and we'll try it again. No doubt we'll have the ravs again...
Food was very good, however the service was underwhelming. Not our server, she was great and trying very hard. The place seemed to be understaffed. Had an 8:00pm reservation, we had to find someone to check in and then were told it would be another 10 minutes. They then sat us in the front and the waitress came to us and said they will move us to the back. This whole thing took another 20 minutes. It was finally closer to 9:00pm when we finally sat down. After that they took care of us very well, although the restaurant was less crowded at that time. Our food came quickly and as I said, was very good. The owner apologized and made some accommodations for us, which was appreciated. The food part they have right, the communication, they need to work on.
We have enjoyed this restaurant in the past. The food is always good. A few comments, we asked the waiter to decant our cabernet, and he spilled it on the table by pouring from the wrong spout. He also poured cab into white wine glasses. He was apologetic, but should have known how to handle this.
The place is loud, I know they can't fix acoustics, but I felt like I was talking very loud to just the 1 other person at my table.
The chairs are not comfortable. I know it's a look, but they just are not.

The improvements to the noise/acoustic issue have really made a great difference. Overall a super evening to celebrate New Years Eve. The servers all seemed a bit frazzled, not as professionally trained as one might expect for the level of ambiance and food.
Da was wonderful! We were there for New Year’s Eve and never felt rushed ! Our waitress Helene was fantastic! Highly recommend Da!
Great food, friendly and hands on staff and chef. A hidden gem in Morristown, but not for long as restaurants like this will soon be a staple for the locals.
Second time returning to Da Ristorante and the meal was great both times. Was with a group of six on a slow night (Dec 26) and service was very attentive. Between my 2 visits my dining companions and I have had 6 of their entrees and everyone raved about how good they were, particularly the seafood lasagna, short rib lasagna and the meat ravioli. For appetizers the salads were excellent as were the filet mignon meatballs and the mussels. Might be my new favorite restaurant in Morristown - will be back for sure. Like that it is BYO as well.
The kale salad was really salty and not exactly like the description in the menu. It was also too much kale and not enough mix ins. The gnocchi, with shrimp, was very rich and tasted good! There were four, smallish shrimp but they were cooked perfectly. I would’ve loved at least another shrimp, or even two. The chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream was good but nothing to write home about.
The appetizers and main courses are priced a little high but not terribly high for the area. The desserts are limited and priced high.
It was a very quiet night when we were there. Our waitress was actually very lovely and attentive.

First time here, sure to return to try the rest of the menu. Always hesitant to try new place when inviting friends, but reviews were good so worth a try. Glad we did. Found another great local restaurant in DA. Love Morristown.

Second time here. Dinner was even better this time and first time was great. Each dish was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Skirt steak, seafood lasagna delicious and lots of selections with truffle. Owner needs to advertise more or differently to get customers in.

Absolutely delightful from preparation to presentation! We were warmly greeted as soon as we walk in. What was most striking was the stylish yet warm ambiance. This menu is not your typical Italian cuisine – it’s better! Short rib lasagna and seafood lasagna are the dishes we ordered and the most popular on the menu, according our server – who could not have been more attentive. DA is conveniently located across from the Hyatt, BYO, great service and awesome food, I cannot recommend this place enough!
I had not been to this restaurant in a while. My previous experiences were great. This time did not disappoint. The food here is absolutely exquisite. Every time I have been here I think this restaurant belongs in New York, not in New Jersey. We are lucky to have it out here.
We had an 8pm reservation and were not even greeted until 8:20. They were understaffed and very overwhelmed. They were out of the special we wanted and out of their staple appetizer. Whatever little bread we were given was stale. We had been to this restaurant at least 3 times before with a good experience. This was the worst!
This was our second visit within three weeks. The food was excellent once again. Our table of four had everything from the layered pasta with short rib ragu to the salmon, chicken and special ravioli. Everyone was happy with their meals. My salmon was melt-in-your-mouth perfectly cooked. We started with the filet mignon meatballs (actually two servings) because they are so delicious. The salad selections are delicious and perfectly dressed. A truly great place.
The owner and chef is a great guy but there is ALOT to work out here. Lighting is bright and not very welcoming, little to no waiting area, and severely understaffed. The girls were working extremely hard but shouldn’t be waiting that many tables and hostessing. We weren’t even acknowledged until we said something. We were a party of 6 and they only fit us because of a rearrangement suggestion I had. Mostly only tables of 4 and some 2’s. They were full but that was it - there was nobody waiting or any turnover. We were the second to last party to be seated for the night and we got there at 7:30. Glasses and wine opening took forever and we ended up just asking for an opener. I ordered the special which they ran out of and then ordered a dish from the main menu which they were also out of. This didn’t make sense with the lack of turnover and us not getting there late. I decided not to order anything but Chef came out and comped a filet which was cooked perfect and delicious. Still had some fat on it which it shouldn’t but a minor detail. Potato leek soup was very bland and could’ve sworn it was more like a broccoli soup it was nothing like potato leek. Everyone’s food came out extremely extremely slow. Apps took almost an hour and dinner was nearly an hour after that. They were entirely overworked and overwhelmed and really killed the experience. This is with nobody else coming in either. Most of the food was good but some was not like the soup. Short rib lasagna seemed home made but very dry but promising. Also a lot of the food was room temp or slightly warm which was surprising given the fact they had to be preparing fresh. He needs to hire another chef and waitress or host and order more food. 6 months in business and years in the restaurant industry he should know what he has to do and be prepared for a typical busy Saturday. He will need to invest more to survive because the food was good but not worth nearly 3 hours.
