Da Pasquale Trattoria Italiana Ratings and Reviews
I had been here once before and was served the most authentic fettuccine with bolognese sauce ever. There was something about it that made me go back to have it again, and it will not be my last time. They serve large portions so I too, some home and it was excellent the second day too! It was a busy Friday night and thank goodness we made a reservation. Very crowded around the hostess station, but they got us to a table in about 5 to 10 minutes. The staff is great all around. They’re just at ease with everything and it makes for a homey casual evening. We started with a salad, my friend and I shared. It was mixed greens some candied pecans, Parmesan cheese, and an incredible dressing. The salad was pretty typical, but the dressing made it sing. Great dinner, authentic Italian, and lovely warm atmosphere
I live in San Diego and this is the 2nd time I have driven 2 hours to meet a friend or family member at Da Pasquale. Both times did not disappoint. The food is absolutely great and the service is exceptional. I specifically like the location and the décor. It's intimate and trendy.
Would definitely recommend it. Will be coming up to LA again soon and it will be atop of my list for recommendations.
I usually enjoy Da Pasquale but was disappointed on my last visit earlier in the week. I had a salad and the Branzino fish. For $38 the fish was overcooked, dry and nothing special or even just o.k.. I had the sauce on the side and perhaps that was the issue as to why it was so dried out and crisp. I was underwhelmed and disappointed. Will try again...perhaps it was an off night.
Unhappy when the Owner led us to a very noisy area of restaurant right by the Kitchen & then begrudgingly took us to another noisey area and was put out when we asked for a quieter corner table. But, the worst was that even tho' they said it was fine that we were about 15 minutes late due to traffic, they had already reported us as "NO SHOWS" that I was notified by "Open Table" when I got home! (I understand that my 100 points have been added to my Open Table Account after I responded to Open Table that we were there!
Da Pas is one of our neighborhood favorites. Mama is front and center in the kitchen. You can choose your food as you get seated. Be prepared to wait, they are always busy. The bread is second to none - well, maybe Spago beats them out.
Great fish, gluten free options. A huge pizza oven. Lots of care. Big tables of people. If you want cosy, request a corner table.
Love the canellini bean salad!
Seating is too tight, I was not comfortable with a two top table placed along side another 2 people at a 2 top. Note to management, remove this seating arrangement. It is obvious you are cramming people in.
My Sicilian speacial menu was good except the lamb shank was cold in the Center, too much gristle too. I'd give that entree a 4.
We've been going to Da Pasquale ever since they opened, and it has always been a HUGE favorite of ours. We bring everyone we know and love there. The wait staff is wonderful, as is the food - and the restaurant still has their original owners, and the chef (one of the owners) still does all the cooking, which is superb.
We got here at opening time with a reservation, but at first they didn't want to seat us on the side of the restaurant we wanted (and we made our reservation early specifically so we could get a table in the part of the place we like) even though all tables were as yet empty. They did eventually seat us where we wanted, though. The rest of the experience was great as usual. I don't know of any other Italian place in SoCal that compares to this one.
I carelessly lost some important personal items and your staff found them and called us the next morning to my great relief.
My only negative comment - your choice of music - one high level what with a full r noisy room can be unpleasant
Anyway we will keep coming back.
