We sat outside but it was on a windy day, which they said we could move inside but halfway through dinner isn't ideal. Good food, we got all the new things we haven't tried before and was pleasantly surprised. I would definitely like to try things with sides I would prefer, salmon was amazing but didn't love the sides. Also, the specials menu didn't have prices and that turned me off from ordering off the menu. Would like to come back for a happy hour.
Fantastic food, however the service was a bit slow. It took forever to get my bill and I was charged an incorrect amount. I nevertheless, love the food and spirit here.
Very good food. Great addition to the Hopkins area
Excellent food and service. Loved everything. Mushroom soup was outstanding. We had some small plates and loved the cheese with sesame seeds, meat balls, and the Dorado (similar to Branzino) was great. Chef Maria is amazing. The noise level was too high for my taste, but the owner, who is very personable, said that it will be taken care of soon. I will certainly be back. Maria suggested that I try at the next visit, the meat stuffed grape leaves and the lamb shank.. the baklava was yummee.
Fantastic food - great value and even better service! Can’t wait to go back!
The waitor was very attentive. Food arrived promptly and was good. The website didn't do a good job of explaining the entrees were small plates only. We felt it was a bit of a bait and switch in that regard because it was more expensive than anticipated. But overall, was an enjoyable experience.
Very pleasant evening. Especially enjoyed visiting with the owner. We’ll definitely make it a regular dining experience.
Always a pleasure to dine at Cypriana. Good menu, well executed in pleasant surroundings. Wait staff competent, attentive, and concerned to give good service.
The host was incredibly warm and helpful. The meal was authentic and extremely savory!
Have really enjoyed the food and service each time we dine here! Courteous service and expertly prepared food, not too expensively priced. Really appreciate reserves off-street parking also!
Consistently delicious, enjoyable, well paced, well presented, friendly, high quality Mediterranean food!
A little loud but otherwise fantastic. Food is great but with appetizers and 1 drink a person it can be a bit pricey.
I would recommend with the proviso that portions are very small for the price. The place, the food, the gracious owner are all lovely, but not good value for what customer pays.
Everything was delicious! We (group of 3) ordered a variety of dishes and shared everything. Will be back!
We went there for our anniversary. Unfortunately from the start things did not go well. Waiter asked us if ready to order instead of asking us if we would like to start with drinks. We ordered the drinks and then we ordered appetizers. Waiter brought a glass of wine but not my draft beer. My wife waited to drink her wine when I received my beer. Unfortunately the waiter did not bring it and instead brought the appetizers. I asked where the beer was and he apologized and said the bar was backed up. I told him that was unacceptable and there was no reason a draft beer should not have come out 20 min earlier with the wine.
The mushroom soup appetizer came out luke warm and stuffed grape leaves was so overpowered by the lemon that I could not taste the meat blend. The waiter took back the soup and replaced it with hot soup.
We ordered entrees which curiously took a lot longer to prepare than we expected. We watched numerous customers who had come in after us leave before we received our entrees. The beef tenderloin kebab was tender and the fried had just enough lemon to be creative. The grilled octopus was also good and again had just enough lemon to be flavorful. We thought the tabouli was very good and probably my favorite part of the entire meal.
Perhaps the waiter was inexperienced but I expected more from a supposedly upscale restaurant that crafts its food based on the chefs passion
Our food was wonderful and our servcer Phil was excellent! Thank you, Hopie
Cipriana was a rare find. The food is great, fresh and delicious ingredients. We had pork belly and octopus which both were delicious. We are originally from the Mediterranean and familiar with the food. However, can’t stress enough about the food! Wwe will definitely return and highly recommend without any hesitation!
This was our first time at Cypriana. we put together a number of smaller plates and had a fabulous meal with a wide variety of tastes. Service was wonderful. The chef came out and greeted us as she greeted others throughout the dining room. The owner also came over and chatted with us. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone. Next to us was a table with a small child who fit in beautifully to the restaurant as a whole.
Consistently good.We had guests and all were delighted...plus we live in the neighborhood. Great to have an excellent restaurant within walking distance.
Always a wonderful time at Cypriana. Wonderful food, great service. A family run gem of Baltimore. Not to be missed.
Our third visit to Cypriana, and it did not disappoint! We took another couple - it was their first time - they added it to their list of favorites. The food and service were excellent; the energy level was high. We will be back!
We had a delicious dinner at Cypriana! It was the best octopus I have ever had! Food was all delicious and the atmosphere was fun. Our tables were very close together so the privacy wasn’t the best but it was a wonderful experience over all and we will be back!
Octopus is amazing
Whole branding delicious
Wonderful service and delicious food, every time!
Consistently great food with friendly service.
The food was excellent. We came in during 'happy hour' with reservations. There was no one at the bar or in the restaurant. We requested to take our happy hour drinks back to the table and we were discouraged from doing so, even though we had paid for them. We were going to order a happy hour appetizer and did so but was charged full price because we wanted to have it at our table instead of the bar. I thought that was knit-picky and not hospitable especially since the reservation was for a night that it was pouring buckets of rain and we still came to the restaurant. I felt like reminding them - you are in the hospitality industry remember.
Go there Mon>Thurs for the street food(pita sandwich)special.Great value!
We were in the area and there were reservations available for this restaurant, glad we decided to dine here. Food was excellent, service was excellent, ambiance was excellent! Will definitely return!
Great Greek/Mediterranean food, friendly efficient service, reasonable prices.
Food is amazing and authentic. Lots of vegan options! Super happy.
The noise level was really a downer. The owner should put in acoustic panels to absorb the noise
Excellent attention to detail. Not only innovative quality food, but patient explanations about the various choices on their menu. Definitely a do it again type of restaurant.
Food was very tasty. Lots is small plates great for sharing. And a lot of vegetarian options! Our waitress made good suggestions and checked in at regular intervals. Very enjoyable evening.
Great place if you’re Gluten Free! Best GF pita I have ever tasted. The service was excellent & the food delicious. The roasted feta with sesame seeds was outrageous with the pita bread.
For the most part, we enjoyed our dinner here, and while our server was friendly and pleasant, he was hard to understand because he spoke too quickly and didn’t enunciate enough. In addition, he needed reminding about bringing the wine one of us had ordered and also the coffee another of us had ordered. We very much like the chef and her husband, who came over to our table to say a few words to us. When we were leaving, they both thanked us for coming. I mentioned to them that, since the restaurant is mostly gluten-free, that it would be nice to have a GF dessert as well. Maria, the chef, said they had not one but two GF desserts! Sadly, our server was not aware of that. As for our meals, two of us had wanted the sherried mushroom soup, but they had run out of that, so we enjoyed the chicken soup (much like avgolemono) instead. The roasted shrimp were cooked perfectly. I am a big fan of dolmas (stuffed grape leaves.) Often served cold or room temp and in olive oil, these were a hot appetizer and came in a tomatoey sauce. Good, but not my fave. The Chocolatina dessert billed as “Layers of cake dipped in Greek coffee, Metaxa brandy, chocolate mousse and chocolate ganache, topped with hand-whipped cream and pistachio dust,” was served in a champagne flute, not a plate or small bowl, which I think would be more appropriate and easier to eat. The presence of the cake was barely discernible, the Greek coffee, Metaxa brandy and pistacthio dust, not at all. I think this very yummy-sounding dessert would be more successful served in a small bowl as an actual piece of cake, soaked in Greek coffee and Metaxa brandy, topped with chocolate mousse, drizzled with ganache, whipped cream on the side and sprinkled with a few chopped pistachios. I want to see the cake!
We had dinner after attending the BSO. We arrived in a good mood and it stayed that way. The service was a little slow, but we think our group is engaged in good conversation that the wait staff (at Cypriana and at other places) tend to leave us alone to enjoy each other’s company.
The food is wonderfully well spiced. It is refreshing to be able to choose from small, medium and large plates; great for sharing and sampling a variety of dishes.
Have been to Cypriana about four times now and will definitely return.
My sister visited from Mexico and we had an early dinner on Saturday nite. We both h ad the cream of mushroom soup and the grilled jumbo shrimp. Every bite was delicious. The waiter was knowledgeable and helpful and very polite. Our meals were delivered in a tnely fashion. Overall a lovely and tasty experience. We will be back. Thanks for being in the neighborhood so that we can walk over.
Always delicious and owners are just terrific!
We tried the salad combination and small plates. We were not dissappointed.
Good food, but slow, inattentive service
