CUT by Wolfgang Puck located within the new Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown, is the sixth CUT location across the globe behind the original in Beverly Hills, Las Vegas, London, Singapore and Bahrain. The sleek new location designed by Studio Jacques Garcia in collaboration with Kimberly Brown and Strata Architects, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as a bar and lounge experience in the adjacent CUT Lounge. My wife and I like this place and have dined here more than once. The restaurant is quiet, elegant and the level of service is impeccable. Our most recent visit gave us the opportunity to try the new menu which, frankly, was a bit of a disappointment. It is very limited although the offerings are interesting. As for the food, it was good although my steak was not cooked sufficiently and went back to the kitchen but still came back too rare. The staff was massively apologetic and went out of their way to rectify the situation. Sadly, we were on a schedule and couldn’t stick around for the steak to make another trip to the kitchen. We still plan to go back and try it again although the limited menu may make the next trip our last simply because there’s just not enough menu variety to justify multiple trips.

My wife and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at Cut this week, and truly enjoyed the evening. The service was wonderful. We were greeted with a complementary glass of cava and a cheerful card from management. The food was excellent and presented well, just as ordered. We enjoyed the lamb chops and snapper very much. A very memorable evening.

Disappointing! CUT used to be our favorite restaurant. Unfortunately we were not served the same top quality steaks we received in the past. The blue cheese salad is off the menu now, and in a positive note they agreed to make the old salads for our table. But The American wagyu New York steaks tasted like standard non prime sirloins. At these prices the steaks should never miss like this! I only Hope the other CUT restaurants have not dropped to this low level.

Not only is the food at CUT absolutely delicious, but I find the restaurant to be incredibly versatile. It’s the perfect place to impress business colleagues in search of great steaks and desserts, but also a great place for a weekend date to eat seafood and pasta. Service is top-notch in every way. It is a great add to the TriBeCa/SoHo/FD food scene!

I am usually a fan of Wolfgang Pucks. However, this restaurant falls short of my expectations. We were really looking forward to an amazing dinner celebration. The steak was overpriced and not worth the price.

I went for restaurant week. Usually $26 per person for lunch time, the cut was $29, very small portions, I paid $10 extra to get the steak which I ordered medium cooked, literarily I paid $40 for lunch no drink other than water a small salad appetizer the steak came with nothing no sides a couple of tiny mushrooms here and there more for decor I think, the steak was rare not medium but I hesitate about complaining about food at a restaurant, I left hungry, they didn’t even serve us bread to start. I’m sure if we asked for it, they would charge us. One of my friends ordered dessert which was not included with the price, they gave us two, we thought oh maybe is a compliment for the birthday girl, when the check came they charged us for the two desserts, even the one we didn’t ordered. It’s overrated. I can say I went to the Cut and it’s not all that.

Cold steak sauce which still had solid butter in it and they lost my credit card while I was trying to pay - had to “locate it” somewhere in the restaurant. Not a good experience for $450.

The staff was welcoming and attentive. Although it was a holiday luncheon, I did not feel the holiday ambiance as there didn't appear to be any decorations or anything on the tables to evoke the holiday.
The server was genuine in seating us and provided the menus. She politely provided additional time to order as my guest and I were engaged in conversation as we have not seen each other in about 2 years.
The appetizer was timed well with the entrée. Unfortunately, the sparkling bottled water order was not delivered throughout the entire meal. I will return again and recommend lunch at CUT to be a great local/neighborhood place.

The BEST steak dinner my boyfriend and I have ever enjoyed. Definitely a pricey spot so I would only recommend it for special occasions. The softly lit ambiance makes the restaurant very relaxing and friendly, and the service is top notch. The location is great as well for exploring downtown Manhattan.

We were greeted by one server who took our drink order. A while later, another server appears, no introduction, no explanation as to why the other server is not taking our order and takes our order. I have never rec'd a steak on a plate that wasn't scorching hot. My plate was actually cold. I cut through my filet mignon in the middle and it was barely warm. Really? How embarrassing! Neither of the servers came by to see how dinner is. We had to call one of them over to advise that my colleageue's steak was very medium and needed to be cooked a bit further as it was red, not pink. To top it off, not sure if there's a pool party or bar on the roof, but a gentelman walked right by our table with drink in hand in shorts and tank top and was seated. Geez, i didn't have to see his arm pit hair during our meal. This is a Wolfgang steakhouse in the Four Seasons and you allow a tank top? that's gross!! so many great steakhouses in the city and i do not ever have to come here again. I don't care who lives in the building, but you should never allow tank tops from men! ew! service, eh. food, poor. No thank you.

This location’s service was a complete disconnect to the standards that Four Seasons routinely delivers. Service level at bar was great - similar to what you’d expect at a FS. Wait service in the dining room, however was awful. We could not get and maintain the server’s attention and there was significant delays in delivery of courses, and then the entrees came out but one of our party’s order was not presented. Only after everyone finished their meals (after waiting to find out there was a missing order) did the food arrive. Drinks were frequently empty and each time we had to ask for refills. It is very clear that the serving staff was distracted/not engaged.

CUT always impresses. My guest on this visit commented several times during the meal on his exceptional steak, the standout sides, and the outstanding service. The variety of the dinner menu makes this a perfect place for non-steak lovers as well.

Prior to the ordered meal arriving, the chef sent to my table a square of seared sirloin with chimichurri sauce and a waygu beef slider, foccaccio bread and a salted pretzel roll. My entrée was pork belly with suckling baby pig and it was delicious! Although French fries were served early and cooled, the chef sent another order over to be hot together with the entrée! Excellent!
