Food was great. Waitress (also tending bar) was helpful, organized, and attentive in spite of the fact that she was alone, had 4 or 5 tables, and a number of customers sitting at the bar. My only wish is that she had some support to keep water glasses full, bus tables, but ultimately, she did what she could and we had a great evening.
Good Happy Hour specials. Bar food.....we enjoyed the chicken sliders and a burger.
Great food, amazing service and fantastic drink selection.
Took over 12 minutes to be greeted. Not a great way to start our before show dinner. Seemed like there was only one person working floor. Tables uneven, hodgepodge. Uncomfortable seating arrangement, very close to neighbor table.
We came just for the steak but they were out at 7 PM. Bit of a disappointment
I had high expectations for this place based on reviews but left a little disappointed. I had set up a reservation for my group and when we arrived the sign at front said "Please seat yourself". I didn't want to just grab a table if we had one reserved so I decided to hold off until someone came up. We waited for probably 2-3 minutes before someone came up to us (turned out to be our waitress). She didn't offer any comment or apology for the wait and I initiated the conversation by saying I was here for my reservation. She pointed us to our table and we seated ourselves. At the table there were two menu's (for 7 people) and when we finally flagged our waitress down for a menu she said "Oh, here" and pulled one from the table next to us, which still had people on it. That was pretty much the theme of the night. Us waiting a long time for water, ordering, etc and no apology or comment from our server. I was giving her the benefit of the doubt because it seemed busy at first but even as the night went on and it got less busy the service didn't get any better. One of my party stated she went to the restroom and saw our waitress and another server (?) just chatting in the back. This was while we were still waiting on food and were looking to order more drinks. Even at the end of the night when she came around to collect plates and my wife said her food was great our waitress just said "ok". I have rarely found someone so apathetic when it came to doing their job, especially in the service industry where a simple "I'm sorry for the delay, we're shorthanded, etc" goes a long way. I did like my food and the drinks were quite good but with so many options in the area it's a little hard to justify coming back here.
Cursed Oak was amazing! They accommodated a large party that add people last minute, and made sure we felt taken care of and the wait staff was excellent. The food was also phenomenal and everyone was extremely happy!
The ragu with parpadelle was delicious!
The pork belly sliders were amazing as well.
We loved the 90’s-00’s music/DJ but no one was getting up & dancing. The music was loud enough that you couldn’t hear the person across the table from you so that was kind of frustrating but hey! It looked like where the cool-kids hung out on a Friday night.
The chicken wings were too salty.
Terrible service and food. Will not return. .
- Made a reservation on open table, but we showed up to a sign that says “Seat Yourself”
- It took me a good 5 minutes to be greeted by a staff member who seemed to be he only server the entire time. None of the bar tenders cared to help or notice.
- The drinks weren’t good. And the food.... big eye brow raise. All we got was the charcuterie board, but it showed up with deep fried bread (why?) and no Parmesan cheese, or any cheese for that matter.
Wonderfully delicious food and cocktails! The band playing was excellent and wasn’t overbearing at all. Great ambiance and location.
Great food, delicious cocktails, good music, fun ambiance, an overall great time.
Food was outstanding. One of the specialty cocktails was forgettable, but the Manhattan was stellar. Waitress was friendly and quite adept.
It is a small kitchen and they were quite busy. We had show tickets and were getting a little anxious about being able to actually eat. They made it, we made the show. But give yourself a little more than an hour and a half if you don’t want to watch the time.
Went to Cursed Oak based on Open Table reviews and we were NOT disappointed. We were celebrating my daughter’s birthday and it was the perfect place on a rainy Saturday night. From the craft cocktails and one of the largest liquor selections around to the small plates, there was something for everyone.
Next time I’m in Seattle I will go back. Great food, friendly service and reasonable prices for the Belltown area.
Menu on website was out of date (no medium plates) but solid dining experience!
One wait staff for the entire restaurant on a busy holiday. Long wait for beverages and food. Limited menu and food cold when finally served. Music too loud. Very disappointing, won't return.
It was great, the squid ink pasta was delicious and so was the drinks. Our waitress was on top of it throughout the night. Highly recommend!
