Currents at the Riverhouse
Great overall experience!
The ambiance was excellent and the service and food was superb. Some soft background music would have made the experience even better.
Server was very professional. Dinner was delicious. Desert was mediocre.
The food was delicious and service was great even though they were packed.
Birthday brunch on a Sunday with a group of five. It was very nice and everyone liked their meal. Waitress seemed overworked and as it got crowded, there should have been more servers or at least water/ coffee / bus persons. Typical Bend, never enough help in restaurants but she was pleasant.
If you’re looking for a hotel lobby atmosphere with ok food this is for you
We had a marvelous experience! The food was great, the presentation beautiful, and service was excellent. We went back for breakfast the following morning and probably will return for dinner this evening ... it is THAT good!
Our server Adrian was awesome and so were his recommendations. We ate in the lounge area and probably because it was early evening on Sunday, it was nice and quiet .
Slow service spoiled an otherwise nice menu, beautiful ambience, and good food. There were only five or six other tables occupied for lunch on a Saturday, yet it took almost 15 minutes for our four orders to come out of the kitchen.
We really enjoyed listening to Bill Keale! I was there with relatives from California, and we enjoyed the event!
The food was good and the service reasonable. Unfortunately the ran out of three doshes including the Friday nite dinner, the chicken and the beef shank therefore our other choices. But as I said, the food we ordered was tasty.
Service was average and not efficient. Good was also average (roast chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes and ratatouille...). The best part was the excellent sourdough bread and flavored butter. The Argentine Malbec was very good. The food might have been much better if the chicken, beans and potatoes were hot and NOT piled one on top of another.
Great resort. Great Food. Great atmosphere
The food and the view were great, but the service was terrible. We waited over an hour for food, never got drink refills, and never got bread.
Great food and views.
Service is a little slow to get seated.
Good staff though
Loved the terrace overlooking the river & the food was very nice, service very good and will definitely be back!
We’ve been here three times. BBQ very dry, slow service, when there’s a problem, manager doesn’t respond. Simply wont ever go back. Terrible.
Rover sounds were great for the ambiance. Food was great loved it.
Waited 45 mins for our food to arrive. When we enquired with the waiter he told us 'in Bend you wait 45 mins for a table, and then 45 mins for an order'. This was rude and dismissive and we should have been told from the start that there would be such a wait in our food in order to manage expectations. I think there was an issue with the kitchen as I overheard another waitress telling someone this. This is fine, but communicate it to your customers. Food was just warm when it arrived but I didnt want to wait any longer . I asked for ketchup and it never arrived. All in I was really disappointed as I had a fantastic meal the evening before at this restaurant. But for brunch I was let down and fully charged. It's a great place with amazing views, but maybe needs to work on communication
Ambience was nice, food was okay at best but service is awful! I wouldn’t go back.
Great find for lunch. Unassumingly located in a hotel lobby, the outside view of the river running by is a beautiful setting. The meals were tasty and well priced.
This was my first visit and we really enjoyed our experience. We live up on the butte and have been wanting to visit for a while. The staff is very polite and helpful. Our food was very good especially the steak that was cooked to perfection. The side vegetables were fresh and not over cooked. The table side bread was fresh and the chicken cooked very well. The location cannot be beat with the river below and the blue skies above. The outside seating was plentiful with several sitting areas for cocktails. We are looking forward to our next meal at Currents.
Right off of a busy street but you wouldn't know it. Upscale casual with a great view of a smaller part of the river. Nice bar area to lounge and enjoy a drink or watch some games. Food is well properly done with good options.
Great food, service and location.
Halibut was overcooked. Seated inside, but our server spent most of his time outside, had to ask another server to get him after not seeing him for almost a half hour.
Good food, nice ambience!
Good vibe, food was about average, and service was above average.
We really enjoyed our experience. We arrived right after a big thundershower, but really wanted to sit in the outdoor area, which overlooks the river. The staff dried a table and set us up quickly. The food was great. The service was attentive. The restaurant, particularly the outdoor area, is really attractive. We’ll come back.
Currents is a nice restaurant right by the Deschutes River. Made a reservation and we were seated right away. After 15 minutes I had to find a server to wait on us. The food was good but the service was horrendous.
Poor waiter service and dry short ribs ruined experience.
We sat outside watching and hearing the rive flow by eating excellently prepared and beautifully prepared food. The service was attentive, but not intrusive.
We went to celebrate our Anniversary with a special dinner. I ordered the Halibut, it was way over salted, and the potato gratin, which was super bland. The presentation was beautiful. My husband did not really enjoy his Fisherman's Stew. He always clears his plate, but didn't this time.
Setting and food was very good, but service in the kitchen was unacceptable.
I have eaten there 4 times in last year. This was first time food was not perfect. My two companions had great meals but my fisherman's stew was fine except for the clams. They were a bit dated. Several did not open at all. A little tummy ache after. I guess I won't order fish next time.
Nice ambiance and decent service but the food was poorly prepared and simply a let down. Combine that with a premium price and I will not return nor will I recommend it to anyone.
We always enjoy our experience at Currents! We always make a point to at least visit the lounge if nothing else.
The outdoor seating with the sound of the river running beside you is a pretty special atmosphere to begin with and the food is top notch as well. The corned beef hash with a side of sourdough toast was a great brunch item and their side of fresh fruit went way beyond the standard melon you would get at a lesser location, with fresh berries and other fresh fruit added to the mix.
I will also say they did a nice job of adjusting to some food allergies in our party, which included gluten, dairy, and garlic, with no sign of being inconvenienced and instead a measure of appropriate care and compassion. We have had great experiences for breakfast, brunch, and dinner.
The reservation was made a few days ahead of time. When I made the reservation I specifically told them it was for a 40th Birthday and for it to be known. Not a mention of it was made or a dessert offered. We ordered Standing Rib Roast. No Au Jus nor Horseradish were offered. Severely disappointed for a special night.

We have enjoyed Currents in the past, but this last visit was a debacle. We had out of town guests visiting & wanted to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Made reservations several days ahead & requested outdoor table. When we arrived on time, the Host apologized and said “someone” just gave away our table. We said we would sit inside but was waaay too noisy due to a 4 piece band (with drums!)playing in restaurant!??? We waited for an outdoor table & when almost ready to go elsewhere they seated us finally. The waiter was pleasant and the food was ok.
Not sure why they asked me if we were celebrating a special occasion when making reservation???
If you want to have happy hour on the patio, make sure in advance that they will serve happy hour at your particular table. And if you request to change tables, expect to be told that the other tables on the patio are all "reserved"...although, oddly enough, those other tables were still vacant when we left 90 minutes later.
On the positive side, our waitress was great and the river ambience was very enjoyable.
