Great outdoor space. Creative cocktails and nibbles to start. Brunch was a hit! 8 of us and each one had something different, lots of bites being exchanged...That's always a good sign!
Restaurant was closed even though I was allowed to make a reservation.
Amazing food and service!
Curio was able to accommodate my family of six ranging in ages 7-54. Waitress accommodated all of our needs and my sons special diet restriction. Adult specialty drinks were fun to choose, packed flavour and spiked to perfection. Thanks Curio!
Had a good happy hour deal and great meal outside on a warm evening. Such a lively and vibrant space and energy. I wish there were more vegetarian plate options, but the options they do have are very fresh and delicious.
The summary is that the food was simply awful. I haven't had a meal in San Francisco that bad in a long time. The (not inexpensive) fish and chips had raw batter, the brussel sprouts were burnt and covered in a sugary sauce. The menu was totally uninspired.
On the good side, amazing cocktail menu and great service.
It took us 15-20 minutes to be seated and shortly after we were seated, the waitress came to greet us and said she’d be right back. We waited another 20-30 minutes and she still hadn’t come back even though we saw her going to tables near us and actively tried getting her attention. Once it was almoer an hour after our initial reservation time and we still hadn’t ordered, my group just got up and left because we couldn’t take it any longer. Very disappointed with this experience.
Stopped by to pre-game before a gig next door at The Chapel. Very good food and cocktails, reasonably priced. Waitress was great. They even had a house magician which was amusing. Noise can be a bit much, though. I feel like we were all shouting at each other just to have a conversation. Still, it was a good time and I would return without a second thought.
Fabulous food, fabulous drinks, incredibly convieniant for a show at The Chapel.
Good food and super convenient if you're going to a show next door at the Chapel.
The ambiance, decor and food was great. The staff was underwhelming. I had to ask for the cocktail I ordered two times. No one really knew how the early entry to the Chapel worked. At one point they told us just to stay where we were, which was standing in the middle of the bar area, in the way of staff coming from the kitchen and customers at the tables. We were seated on the patio with all 10 heaters on. People were fanning themselves, standing by the cracked doors and one couple had to be moved. It was so hot. After an hour they finally took the removable windows off and turned off 2 heaters.
They didn't have our reservation because the manager who holds the iPAD hadn't shown up to work yet? Reserved standard seating - was placed at high top seating. All future guests were taken to standard seating after us. Service was a bit slow. Food was fair - small portions. We ended up going to another place to eat about 1.5 hrs later. Can't recommend and won't go back.
good spot for food before a show at the Chapel. I found the food underwhelming. We had brussel sprouts, calamari, hushpuppies, burgers and chicken sandwich.
Cocktails were good, but overpriced $13-$15
Unless you are going to a concert at The Chapel. Food is ok, but expensive. Service was ok
Food wasn’t very good but ambiance and drinks were
Front desk staff helpful and pleasant. Wait staff approached quickly and answered all questions. Overall very relaxed setting The right side is more of a bar and the left has a small bar, but more tables. Transitioning to the show next door at the Chapel was seamless.
Food was tasteless, service was poor.
Wish there were more dietary friendly options, such as non-diary/low carb entree options on the menu, however the day's special of Brisket Poutine was delicious.
Our very first visit and we were swept off our feet by the great food & drinks and attentive service. Thank you so very much! From New Mexico. ❤️
Drinks were the bomb
Waited at the door for several minutes before even being acknowledged, while we watched several worker behind and around the bar area not really assisting anyone. Then after being seated, took almost another 10 minutes before even being acknowledged. During which time we were being baked by the overhead heater. Once our server engaged with us, she did a good job, and the food was good. Seems like the restaurant was a little understaffed and/or some lackadaisical employee behavior. At these prices, should have better service.
It was ghastly. Our waiter was thoroughly unprofessional. The food was overpriced and not prepared well.
Stood at the host desk for 5+ minutes before someone greeted us. We were shown to a table on the patio. It took the server about 10 minutes to bring us water, and another 10 to come back for our drink order. Food came out unevenly. My meal came out almost 20 minutes before my husband's (apparently it was not correctly communicated to the kitchen). The server said the manager would comp the drinks, which they did. The food wasn't horrible, but for the price, I expected it to be better. I had the BBQ bacon wrapped shrimp, and the shrimp were so overcooked they were like eating pencil erasers. The truffled fries were fairly good, but the fries were cut so large that they were mealy and undercooked in the center, which was not appetizing. My husband got the fish & chips, and he liked it, but the portions for 423 were tiny. Also, my cocktail (the mermaid) was overpriced and had about 1 cup of ice in it. We only went here because we were seeing a show at the Chapel. There was nothing special enough for me to return.
Good for happy hour and nice spot for brunch, with the only caveats being that the food was kind of pricey for what it was (the burger doesn't even come with fries?!) and the service was very meh. We would've probably ordered more if our server actually came to check on us more.
The food was worth the wait, but the noise level was annoying and the service was not attentive and very slow.
Excellent food of the fancy steak and shake variety. Good happy hour specials. Loud at night because of The Chapel nextdoor. Service was just okay, and not a great selection of non-alchie beverages. I'd go again.
Awesome on Fat Tuesday thank you🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
An excellent Fat Tuesday at Curio! My family and I had a great night dining at curio for Fat Tuesday. Made it there for happy hour oysters and other treats and also for the second line band that played during our meal. Good food, good drinks and a really fun celebration.
Yum! We arrived early so our service was done before the place was crowded.
Our server was working a few different rooms so there were delays in being able to catch her eye and asked for additional things, but that’s was small.
She, the hostess and the other staff were friendly and professional.
The food was tasty, not a bad dish between the 5 of us. The drinks, like most bars, consist of 95% ice (though they use some trendy “pebble ice” in one of their drinks.) the concoctions were varied and fun, the rest of the alcohol was unique and offered one a chance to soak up some exciting flavors.
The connection to The Chapel concert venue is a big bonus as the staff came through and offered early check-in tableside.
It's a convenient spot if you are catching an event next door at the Chapel. The deviled eggs are surprisingly a level up from the normal fare. Service was a little sluggish at times, but the staff was friendly and helpful.
Pricey, and my steak was undercooked and tough, arrived somewhat cold, and gave me an upset stomach. The truffle fries were good, as were the drinks. Overpriced for what is pretty much bar food. Server Ellesbeth was fantastic. Great location next to The Chapel, where we saw a Tom Petty cover band, Petty Theft. Excellent concert.
Food here is fantastic!!
Amazing French toast and smoked burrata! Server was sort of MIA but all in all it was nice. Heat lamps in the patio were nice as it was a chilly day!
Great for reserving brunch with groups. Just a couple days before I was able to snag a reservation for a group of 5 at 11am Saturday brunch. They have tasty standard brunch foods like french toast, benedicts and breakfast sandwiches. Also, a very large cocktail list.
My boyfriend and I enjoyed the food especially, the fried burrata cheese. It was really good. They have a good selection of food and cocktails on the menu. I recommend this place for a date or a night out with a group of friends. There is a heated outdoor patio eating area.
Service almost felt intentionally poor. Good drinks. Food very fried.
Restaurant's week menu was not amazing , although I've had brunch there in the past and really liked it.
Great food and excellent service.
Dinner before a show at the Chapel worked out great, great service, terrible cocktails w little or no alcohol...ordered an extra shot which cost almost as much as the cocktail.
Hard to find something that wasn’t deep fried.
Coconut cream pie was a big pile of mush.
Our server was great!
