Entree was good, but the desert and wine list were not
The fish was overcooked. The short ribs were so sweet that they we couldn’t eat the dish. Wish we hadn’t eaten there. Will never make that mistake again.
The food was actually very good and the restaurant was very accommodating to our larger group, which was great. The service was the biggest turnoff. We ordered a bottle of wine three times without it ever being brought out than of course it was still on the bill at the end of night, which did get corrected. Dessert took 25 minutes to come out and I asked for the bill several times before I finally received it. Even though the food was great you almost forgot all of that because of the frustration of the service.
Not impressed; took 15 minutes to have someone come to our table and serve water.
I am sorry to read about your service. I would like to learn more about your time with us. Please contact me at 504.717.4198 Jacquelyn
Choose loud and fun downstairs or quiet and romantic upstairs on the patio. The salmon was particularly good!
Beautiful outdoor seating!
Thank you for dinning with us! The balcony is the place to be! We hope we will see you again soon!
Cute little restaurant with tasty cuisine. Easy to find. Great for any time. We came following Preservation Hall and enjoyed it thoroughly.
Thank you for joining us, we hope you will be back again soon!
Unacceptable service. Waiter kept apologizing for “miscommunication” on their end and it took over 2 hours to get our food, when the restaurant was empty. After complaining, the manager came to our table and apologized and said they thought they already brought us our food ages ago and deleted our order.. once the food came, it was very good but will not be going back because of the service. Sat on the balcony, enjoyed the view but they need serious improvements if they want to stay in business!
I just love this place—-great food and what a perfect location on royal street ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for joining us. We hope you will be back for another visit soon.
Started out with reservation at hightop table.. waited 15 min and nobody even came by. Not even crowded.. hostess acted like she didn’t want to be there. We moved to the bar and had outstanding service from there on our.. sit at the bar for good service. Food was above average. Biscuits and gravy was 4.5 stars.. curio breakfast-4 star. Would have given 5 star if not for hostess and no server for 15 min
We strive to provide excellent service to all of our guest. We apologize that we missed the mark at the table but are so pleased to hear that our bar team took great care of you. Please stop in on your next New Orleans visit!
Food was good but the service was very spotty. Our waiter seemed to disappear and it was difficult to even get the first refill on our bottomless mimosas and bloody Marys. Not the best experience in New Orleans. There are better places.
Mark, Thank you for your feed back. We are always looking for ways to improve. I would like to learn more about your visit to Curio. If you have a moment please reach out at jacquelyn.montreuil@creolecuisine Jacquelyn Montreuil General Manager
We really wanted to love this place. It was a very busy Saturday night and they seemed a bit overwhelmed. Our server was very nice. Everything was slow. Drinks took forever. Food took forever (server admitted he forgot to ring it in - so he comped us a cocktail). And the food would have been really delicious if it all hadn’t been way too salty.
Situated on a great corner, and beautifully decorated, we were really excited when we got an easy reservation for Curio on a Saturday night. I should have known... The service was TERRIBLE! It took over an hour for the waitress to even take our order. When the food finally came out, it was cold. Not to mention that the wait staff was just plain rude. I understand this restaurant is fairly new, but it has a lot of work to do if it is going to last. I would not recommend this place to parties over 4 people. They obviously can't handle it.
No wait, attentive service, a little warm with the doors open. Food was good, Caesar salad with grilled shrimp.
Thank you for your review!
I was a wonderful blackened reddish topped with crab on a bed of greens. Hubby had the oyster poboy but it didn’t come with any sauce on the bun, though it was supposed to. When asked for more of the sauce, it took a very long time and someone from the kitchen brought up a red marinara sauce- for a poboy? Had some good fried shrimp balls for an appetizer. Sit upstairs outside for a lovely ambiance!
Karen, Thank you joining us at Curio. We hope you will be back soon!
Visited Curio on a date night in August. We sat in the downstairs dining room near the shutter doors. There wasn’t much of a date night ambiance but it was entertaining enough to watch people pass on the sidewalk. Server was very sweet and friendly and the service was good, however the entrees we ordered were not. Both the pasta and the fish were extremely over salted and the rice on my boyfriend’s plate was so undercooked it was crunchy. With all the great food in New Orleans, I don’t think I’d eat here again.
Everyone was so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful . We had a great Sunday brunch ! Our waitress was so pleasant and polite ! Thanks !

Liked the food, atmosphere and overall experience
Thank you for choosing Curio. We are so glad you enjoyed your time with us!
This was a perfect place for my birthday brunch! Everyone was so nice especially our waitress Tae (I hope I am spelling her name right)! She was pleasant from beginning to end even with us being such a large group! Food was amazing and good portions our favorite part was the mimosas!!
Khadijah, Thank you for choosing Curio for your birthday brunch. We are so glad that we could be a part of such a special day! We hope to see you again soon for more bottomless mimosas! Jacquelyn
Best French toast in the French Quarter - the local cane syrup is perfect!
Thank you WoldTraveler!! The Cane Syrup is perfection!
Awesome bottomless mimosas brunch! Glass was never empty and for a great price. We also really enjoyed the balcony for dining but was quickly moved to a table inside when it started to rain.
Brandi, Thank you for joining us for brunch! We hope that you will be back for more balcony dining when the weather is a bit nicer!
Terrific food. Among the best we had on our trip to New Orleans and in the French Quarter. The Gumbo, Jambalya and Bread Pudding were outstanding. Great views from the second floor
Thank you Andrew. We are so glad that you enjoyed your time at Curio. We hope to see you on your next visit to New Orleans!
Very friendly staff, great service and tasty selection.
Thank you for choosing Curio. We hope that you will be back soon!
We have eaten here four times. Our experience has always been very good, if not better than that. In that area of the French Quarter, Curio would be our first choice. They have a nice range of food choices.
Christopher, Thank you for your loyalty to Curio and repeat visits! We receive no higher compliment then a return guest in a city full of great restaurants. Please be sure to say hi on your next visit. Jacquelyn Montreuil General Manager
Good food, reasonable price, friendly server. We had good time
We could see the brass band pass through from the second floor. 👍
Watching a Second Line from our balcony always makes me smile! I am so glad you were able to experiance this! We hope you will join us again soon.
great food, great atmosphere and a wonderful server (Sam)
we will go back again!!
Food was good . Service and ambiace were horrible. Someone who lives in New Orleans recommended this place. Its a bar on a corner in the French Quarter. I think there was dining upstairs but no one there mentioned it so I sat downstairs. If you like really noisy drunk people around you, then you'll like this place. But when I'm spending $28 for a piece of redfish, i like a nice atmosphere. Redfish was great. Service was poor to nonexistent. Waitstaff too busy chitchatting with other staff to refill drink or ask how everything is. Paid cash they did not give me my change and i had to argue to get it. Menus dirty. You can get just as good food anyplace in New Orleans . Go elsewhere.
It was delicious and the staff were attentive. Great spot!
Thank you, we hope you will join us again soon!
The chef was wearing his purple food prep gloves. He touch his pants, his hair then returned downstairs carrying a bag of frozen chicken. We left without ordering food.
The drinks and bartender were terrific.
I am sorry to read about your experience. I assure you that we take food safety as a highest priority at Curio. Please contact me at your earliest connivance so that I can learn the details of your observations and take correct actions. Jacquelyn Montreuil General manager
We really enjoyed ourselves at Curio. This is a charming bistro in the heart of the French Quarter. Nothing fancy, but cute. My husband and I thought our food was very good (and reasonably priced) and our sever was delightful and pleasant. I would recommend.
Bartender was really good on service and explaining the menu and what was in certain dishes. He also was accommodating on certain dishes where certain ingredients were not allowed as part my diet.
Charles, We are so pleased you enjoyed your time at Curio. Thank you for your kind words. Jacquelyn
Great service! We had a large party of 18 and they were amazingly accommodating to us! Cannot recommend more.
Thank you for joining us. We love hosting large groups and are so pleased that you enjoyed your visit!
Terrible service, took 20 minutes just to get glasses of water and the restaurant was not full! Food was cold and dried out when it finally arrived.
I had been wanting to try Curio for a while now as the location and menu looked excellent, but unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectations.
None of the food was very good - not “bad” but just not good. The service was extremely lacking as well. The restaurant has a nice theme / ambiance but ultimately I wouldn’t recommend it to a friend.
Curio’s food is ALWAYS great, as is the service. Being an open corner, however, makes it a little loud with sidewalk and street noise, but that doesn’t preclude us from dining there. Come join the fun.
Thank you for your kind words and repeat business! We look forward to your next visit!
Delicious food! Also the restaurant went above and beyond for us. The OpenTable reservation had not gone through but the manager found us a table quickly.
Nothing good to say. Service was scattered and slow. Food was sub par for New Orleans.
Yummy and friendly won’t break the bank in the French Quarter
Our group of 6 had a lovely dinner at Curio recently. Jessica was our server and did an outstanding job including making suggestions that were very helpful! Food was very tasty. We sat upstairs on balcony which made our evening even more enjoyable. To make up for a very minor issue with lighting, the manager provided a special treat. Will definitely go back next time we are in Nola!
We had high hopes for Curio based on the reviews we had read but were sorely disappointed. We were able to sit on the balcony which had a pretty good ambience, so that was a plus. However, it took forever to order and to get our food. I asked for a glass of sparkling water, and the waiter brought a bottle and promised to bring a glass. After 2 reminders and 15 minutes, I received the glass. We had to ask about our food twice and received it close to an hour after we ordered it. Both of us had the redfish which I had to cut with a knife. I’ve eaten a fair amount of redfish outside of New Orleans and always found it fork tender and flaky. Not this fish. And at $28 per it was not a good value. With all the phenomenal places to eat in the French Quarter, I was very sorry I wasted one of my two dinners at Curio.
