Cured – chef Steve McHugh’s first and highly anticipated gastropub opened December 2013 in the century-old building that once belonged to the president’s headquarters of the famed Pearl Brewing Company. This seasoned chef spent ten years in New Orleans as chef de cuisine for chef John Besh followed by two years at Lüke in San Antonio. Yet, his most sterling achievement has been beating cancer. After such a life-changing triumph, McHugh set out to open Cured, giving it a name that speaks to his feat as well as the artisanal cured meats hanging in view. It was with this purity of ingredients and hands-on methodology that enhanced his own healing process. This from-scratch, seasonal focus finds its to menu items like Sweet Potato Agnolotti with Bourbon Brown Sugar & Sage and Slow Cooked Heritage Hog with Smoked Andouille & Okra. McHugh has found a way to implement “gastronomic giving” by donating $1 from every charcuterie board order to a different charity each quarter.

Over priced, over rated and under performance at every encounter. Rude waiter (John) was in a hurry every time he stopped at our table-recommended the Pork Belly, but they were out of it, same with the Lamb - how does a place featuring cured meat run out of Pork Belly? Substitute dishes were bland. Disappointment overall - no need to return when San Antonio has so many other options with friendly, courteous staff.

Awesome experience and very good culinary experience. Probably one of the more unique dining experiences I have had in the US. It reminded me of the pride and craftsmanship I experience when dining in Italy.

This was my second time to Maverick. The food was just outstanding (again) and the service had improved enormously. That was my only criticism last time and was completely "fixed". This time I tasted seven dishes I'd never had (two entrees, three appetizers and two desserts) and every one of them was full of flavor and well prepared. The wine was just the right temperature. I'll be back again soon!

This was an amazing first impression. The door is opened for you when you walk in and seated immediately. The hostess was very attentive and ensured we were taken care of. Our waiter, Steven, was great! He was always filling our water glasses though we could have done it ourselves from the bottle that was on our table. The menu is very nice. Not an over abundance of choices but plent to choose from. The ambiance is fabulous and the food was better than that. I would defiantly suggest this place to my friends and family and will be back again myself.

Cured serves a burger that is to die for. Looked absolutely mouth-watering. My two guys loved it, gave it a very respectful "Wow, that was really good." I, unfortunately am allergic to bacon, so I had to settle for a kale salad. It was good too, but not worshipful like the burger. I was jealous . But we left satisfied.

Celebrated a belated Valentine's Day, which included seeing the first morning showing of the movie Black Panther. So having lunch at Cured served as the icing on a very delicious cake!
This was the second time we ate at Cured and they did not disappoint. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Wow! What a great experience! Wonderful food and cocktails. Our server was lovely and gave us great recommendations and helped us figure out the menu. We had the choose 6 charcuterie, the foi gras, and the pork cheek poutine - it was all delicious. The poutine was exceptionally wonderful. The food is on the pricey side, but definitely worth it if you want to try some new things. Happy hour made the fantastic cocktails very affordable! Also, I've seen some complain they took too long, but I think it's fine. Don't go if you're in a hurry. They actually think about the pacing of your meal, and want you to enjoy your time there relaxing, which we did. I go to San Antonio on average 3 times a year, and I'll definitely try to get back here when I can!

Came from seeing "The Color Purple". The charcuterie plate (pork rillettes, pocini salami, bresaola, duck ham, picante salami and cheese) was dynamite. Fried oysters were perfect, the bison tartare could have benefited from a little acid and the sweetbreads were a little too crispy on the outside making the inside not as creamy as they should have been. Unfortunately, we were disappointed that the roasted bone marrow was not on the menu. But overall, an enjoyable experience. Our server was very attentive and accommodating. Just wish I could remember her name.

A stellar experience from start to finish. We enjoyed cocktails at the bar before moving to the dining room. We highly recommend the Cured cocktail and the Poutine. Our meal was memorable—a charcuterie platter followed by pork chop and flat iron steak entrees. Everything was served by attentive and enthusiastic staff. Friendly and professional managers visited with guests throughout our visit. Every detail—from the fresh flower arrangements, to the quality paper towels in the restrooms and the “autograph books” in which the check is presented—is designed to delight guests. After dinner, we strolled through the surrounding area and fell in love with the Pearl District. We will definitely return.

I asked one of my wonderful friends if she would like to be a bridesmaids at my wedding. Our server brought us champagne and orange juice, we ordered specialty meats, and had a delicious brunch. Our server took the time to explain the menu, and chatted with us. We had a wonderful table location. Everything was great and the experience was memorable.
