Very nice restaurant and excellent food. We will be back!
The Cure salad is the best thing on the menu, but everything is good. They have a medium sized menu, but enough dishes to provide something for everyone and everything is delicious! The fried eggplant croutons on the salad are amazing! Love the vodka penne and the tomato pie! Neighborhood gem! Very convenient to West Ashley that has little to offer in the area of fine dinning!
They treated my girlfriend and I to their bread pudding which was delicious after we had already gorged ourselves on the porcetta and sirloin with mashed potatoes paired with an extraordinary Cabernet Sauvignon from Africa! We will definitely be returning soon!
I would not recommend this restaurant. The service was terrible. We were seated 10 minutes before the waitress ever brought us water (this should have been a sign that we should leave). We stayed because the menu look good. When she brought the water, we ordered our drinks which took another 10 minutes to get and someone else brought them to us, and then we had to flag down our waitress to order our food. The food arrived and was mediocre. My grouper had such a fishy taste that I couldn't eat all of it. My husband said the shrimp was not fresh. The waitress never checked in with us again after the food arrived. Please don't waste your money here.
Cure is the best steak to be had in Charleston! Thank you
Great dining experience with friends from many years ago visiting Charleston. Food & wine were both exceptional. Chef managed to prepare a Kansas City Strip Pittsburgh style with a personal variation I requested. My wife and friends all had seafood and loved it. Pan seared grouper and yellow fin tuna. Service was a bit slow but actually added to the evening.
A pleasant evening, but the noise level could use addressing.
We keep coming back for the Cure Salad! It is delicious, but everything is always good here!
Tried Cure for the first time with new friends Friday njght. The menu wasn't very big but everything we tried was fantastic. We especially liked the CureALL meat and cheese platter! Live jazz was playing that particular night. Our server Rachel was very knowledgeable and excellent! Would definitely go back again or recommend to a friend.
Entrees were as advertised -- well presented, served. There was no bread offered thus a lengthy wait with only water (our choice) and one split salad for a party of four.
I had the Grouper dinner. It was wonderful. Everyone at my table enjoyed their meal.
Our waiter was new-had only been there 2 days so was not knowledgeable about many things. One of the reasons we go to Cure is for the Happy Hour Manhattans which are barrel-aged & flavors change with the season. Once we were able to deal with the waiter, after he called over a more experienced waitress, we finally were on the same page as far as the drinks were concerned. Two of us had the tomato pie which was made a bit differently from most in that it did not have mayonnaise in it so was a bit lighter, but very good. My husband had both the mussels & the oysters Rockefeller which he reported were good. Overall, this is a good place to go in the neighborhood, food is reasonably priced, drinks pretty good & it is fairly quiet.
Steak was chewy and a bit fatty-Brussels sprouts were raw and five large shrimp in the shrimp cocktail for $10 was a bit much
Everything we had was excellent. My daughter who doesn't eat anything other thab burgers and chicken strips ended up eating stuffed pork loin, chicken Scaloppine, and even beef tare tare. The staff was quick and professional. Probably the best meal we had in our week in the Charleston area.
Food was delicious. Mussels, tomato pie, eggplant croutons were outstanding. Server Annie was lovely and service was great! Would definitely recommend having dinner here.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Cure! Our server, Rachel, was awesome and gave excellent recommendations of somethings we probably wouldn't have tried otherwise and totally loved. Highly recommend this restaurant.
The food is very good. More like fine dining yet, business casual or casual type wear is very acceptable. The chicken citron over angel hair pasta is very good... as is the Oysters Rockefeller and the Steak tartar. Their bread is so good as is the olive oil. This is a great restaurant..., you won't be disappointed!
Good restaurant in a good location. I loved my Kansas City strip steak. The salad was also good. The waitress forget our oysters Rockefeller so we only had our entree. The red wine Cabernet was very good.
Friends recommended Cure to us. We'd driven by it many times without realizing it was a restaurant. (The name can be read many ways.) Loved the fact that there was no problem getting a table reservation in the same day. Prices moderate food good and abundant. (I couldn't finish my prime rib.) lively waitress. Good wines. Will definitely return.
This is a new find for me and I eat there at least once a month, especially when going to a movie at Terrace Theatre, which is a block away. Perfect date place before the movies. The food is fresh and delicious. I've had the tuna, grouper, prime rib and I recommend all three. The specials are usually fantastic. It's a perfect place for dinner.
I rated service "very good" because our server, Rachel, tried valiantly to cover an excessive number of tables assigned to her. We learned that the restaurant was shortstaffed due to unexpected departures. The food was very good (steak and two seafood entries at our table). The quality of the food and the ambience deserve a solution to the staffing issue.
Menu was very creative and the food was excellent. The Cure Salad was amazing. The atmosphere was very nice but did not feel stuffy. Cocktails were tasty and a great wine list. Will come back in the future.
We had the filet and they were cooked to perfection! The ambience is wonderful.
The food was wonderful! Rob was our server, his knowledge and insight was fantastic!
The service was incredible the food was amazing we had the best time great value for the money
The food was great, and the pricing was on point. They had live music the night we were there, and it was really good. The place wasn't full for a Friday night, but that wasn't a problem. It wasn't too noisy and felt pretty intimate. I will definitely go back.
Great place. Always go when going to the Terrace Theatre
Besides your food, we especially enjoy your tasteful musicians. We have experienced a keyboardist, a jazz group and a guitar player. All were outstanding.
The food was very good, but the service was spotty and slow. We sat outside and we were very comfortable. Inside there was a live band and we would not be able to hear ourselves think! Our meal was disturbed by a man smoking nearby but still on the restaurant property; the restaurant should never allow that.
We were visiting from out of state and heard about this restaurant from Dining Dough online. We picked it out from the choices and were so glad we did! Awesome food and atmosphere-Great find!
Really liked this place, I thought it was one of the best value places for steak in Charleston and the quality was really high. It was really nice to have sides included, it really pushes up the price when you realize you have to pay for sides/sauce additionally.
The in-house steak sauce was well made but it was a little to sharp for my taste (Seemed like it had over reduced Worcestershire sauce perhaps), it was just too intense and masked the flavor of the beef. However, only a small amount was poured on, the rest came in a jug and there was a delicious butter so I still enjoyed it a lot.
The server was very attentive, I didn't give a score of very good just because I felt like she could have been more warm and brought a little more personality but nevertheless still good service.
Took 1.5 hrs. (That's right 1.5 hrs) to get entrees. 3 out of four steaks not prepared to order. 2 ordered medium well and it was medium rare to rare. Medium steak was easy medium rare. Manager cut bill in half but the time taken to bring food was castastraphic. Never again.
Waiter was extremely knowledgable on both food and wine - impressive! The steaks were excellent and the menu offerred a pretty good range. However, was very disapointed in the vegitarian/vegan options - the tomato pie was underwhelming, not imaginative. Otherwise, this was a very good dinning experience.
Great ambiance, good service, virtually tasteless food. My wife and I ordered two different cuts of steak, and both were really bland. Not a good food outcome for a $30 steak...
Food was good, but the service was lacking in a major way. Our waiter forgot our salads and vegetables completely, and offered the comment that he should've written it down. Live and learn...
I took my wife and family to CURE to celebrate Mother's Day. The ambiance is very nice, dark enough to create a cozy atmosphere, but light enough to read the menu with no issue. The food was excellent. My wife and I had the prime rib which was served with garlic mashed potatoes. It was delicious. I would definitely recommend CURE. It was a little pricey but for special occasions it was worth it.
Food was delicious... more people need to go here!
We have made several visits here due to it being a steakhouse close to home. This visit was for a birthday and we had family in from out of town. Everyone was very pleased overall.
Great food. Service started off a little slow as we had to wait 20 minutes for our table. After that e dry thing was perfect .
Service was really bad. Food was just okay. Cocktails were nice and somewhat creative, but the major issues were cleanliness, and the slow uninformed service. The front door seemed to be broken so everyone was going in and out of a patio door, which... whatever, however when exiting the patio was trashed. Empty cigarette packs, full ashtrays, and glasses all over the place. The men's bathroom was like you would find at a dive bar. Gross.
