I love this place! The food is great, the service is wonderful and the ambiance is lovely
Service was professional, speedy, staff was very informative.
Outdoor area is small though they are doing the best possible in a challenging situation.
Our server was wonderful and made the covid dining experience very comfortable! Cute little patio and tasty food.
Cute spot & patio. Reservation not ready at 9pm. Very loud construction going on across the street. Food was not good.
The service was great and the food was amazing
William was outstanding!!!
They were very great about
THE FOOD WAS SOOOO GOOD. I love real authentic Italian food. This was on point and our server was great too! (Sat outdoor due to covid restrictions and was still very pleased)
Dined here on a date night during the covid pandemic so the restaurant was limited to outside seating. The service, food, & wine were great! Good portions & awesome flavor. I don't frequent the L.A. area often so I was a little distracted by hearing people arguing in the street & seeing a few transients walk up to the entrance (which was right by where we were seated) but I'm sure those are common occurrences in L.A. & if seated inside wouldn't really be issues. That being said I really liked Amante & I would definitely come back when everything opens up again!
Great patio, perfectly socially distanced. Excellent service - friendly, helpful waiter. Tasty food and wine for very reasonable price. Highly recommend!
Tried to support this restaurant when the opened back up from Covid-19. Our server was nice, however, there were many mishaps from the beginning that had me puzzled. I ordered a bottle of Chardonnay. She attempts to look for it and asks me if she could serve me the non cold bottle. What?! Then she asks if she should chill Inside a freezer. What?!? I told her no give me a different Chardonnay that’s cold. Cool we ordered. She tries to open the bottle and breaks the cork. Ok. She then tries to open a different bottle has issues and goes inside. Then a busboy brings a Pinot Grigio and attempts to serve it. Sir no. This isn’t the right wine. So 25 mins after we ordered we get the correct wine and serves it gahhhh!! No ice bucket, but he tells me that the server will bring one. She never did.
We ordered appetizers and entrees. Everything came out at once, all together. What a weird first time eating out experience after Covid. Not only that, they charged our credit card twice for 2 different amounts. I called the restaurant to explain and the manager wasn’t available... What the heck is happening?!!? I hope it was just a fluke...
Will give them another chance to support neighborhood restaurants but beware I don’t think they know what is going on.
Chose this spot due to great reviews...it did not disappoint! We are a family of 3 with a sixteen year old picky eater. The food was fabulous! Portions were large and the flavors were excellent. The price was very affordable for the quality of food and service. It was my favorite meal of the whole week in LA.
They got me sick
Food was decent but heavily overpriced for its value/taste. Staff was kind and caring. Can get rather loud.
Horrible service. Couldn’t get what I ordered after waiting over an hour. Friends had undercooked food. Other friend waited 30 minutes just for a beer. Avoid this place at all costs.
Our server was very lovely and did her best to make up for a bad situation. We were seated for 25 minutes before someone took our order. A few people checked in saying someone else would be with us soon, but no one actually helped us. We finally got a server who had just walked in the door when she checked on us. The food was also extremely staggered and the meal took forever. We were at the restaurant for almost 3 hours in total which was ridiculous. I didn't blame our server as it seemed most of the other tables' meals took just as long. While the food was good, I don't think I'd return.
We went on NYE and the place wasn't busy at all. Our waiter William was very sweet. Unfortunately, the caramel in the budino was extremely salty and the swordfish seemed overdone. The short rib ravioli was heavenly though.
All three of us really enjoyed our dishes and the value for the supreme quality it was really remarkable. Great service as well.
I had a Christmas dinner with my friend. The pasta was delicious and nice choice of wines. Also get a tea they have a wide selection!
Terrible. 6:45 on a Saturday night and we were the only customers. Their website reflects a full gluten free menu, including pizza and pasta (I have celiac). When I ordered, the server said the only gf item they had was ravioli. No gf pizza, spaghetti, penne, etc...
Bizarre. Never had that happen before. We left and walked around the corner to Terroni, a crowded, vibrant Italian place, where we had a great dinner. FYI, Amante has only ten, yes ten, reviews on TripAdvisor since 2016 and most of them sound completely phony like they’ve been written by the same person. Supposed reviewers from Norway and Indonesia have perfect (and identical sounding) English syntax and spelling. Steer clear.
I was frustrated because the menu online is not the menu you gave us when we got there. I can't believe you don't get soup or salad with an entree. Too expensive for lunch
Really tasty Italian food, very nice staff, and a large, airy room. We had a very good experience grabbing food before a show at the Ace Hotel nearby.
Understaffed and orders were dropped and mis-served.
Great service, great food, and great efficiency.
Was our first time at Amante and we will definitely going back. The cheese bread is a must. Everyone in our party had various pasta dishes. Each one was delish..we shared and hearty. Make sure you save room for desert...we had the raspberry chocolate cake, strawberry cheesecake and cannoli. They were the bomb! Also, the service was outstanding. Overall, I would highly recommend Amante.
Stopped in before a concert downtown. Our waiter was great, everyone was friendly. Reasonably priced!
Pastas hear are amazing I had blue moon cerveza to drink never tasted a blue moon with that much flavor good batch.
It was a nice restaurant but very dead. No body was barely there. We ate at 745 pm on a friday. I wish there were more people.
Super disappointed with the service here. Most of the meal spent dining Surrounded by dirty dishes. Not sure why the server was in such a bad mood. There must’ve been someone called in sick or something but there is just no effort to make us feel welcome no effort to make the experience special. In light of the poor service the meal felt like a rip off. The food was OK. But when it served With a bad attitude for even asking a question simply about preparation it makes you feel like a fool for wasting the money and such a mediocre experience.
Excellent... service was great, food was delicious, location was perfect.
We were greeted warmly once we entered. The waiter was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable in the wines and the cuisine. I am floored by the experience. I've already recommended Amante to a few people!
It was kind of quiet for a Tuesday, but we were there early. The Calamari was excellent. The Cioppino was very good though the mussels were a little iffy. My son had the margerita pizza and loved it (I tried it too).
The food was all very good. Nothing to write home about but great for a casual evening out. The dessert, however, was divine!
Really great food and the server William was such a sweet guy!
Service was slow and food was ordinary and lukewarm
Food was delicious and the service was super friendly.
Absolutely excellent in every way! Superb menu options and quality of food.
Good food and service and convenient to downtown nightlife
