Good food and service and convenient to downtown nightlife
The restaurant was quiet I think because we got there early. The service was great, as was the food. It was hard to decide what to eat because the menu had so many yummy choices. Finally decided on the beet salad and cheesy bread. Both great and too much to eat and were enough for dinner the next night. Everything was GREAT. Don't make it downtown too often, but when I'm next downtown, I will definitely return to Amante Restaurant
We had an opportunity to taste the NEW pastes that are homemade, they were DELICIOUS!!! Amante's menu is already very good, this just puts them over the top.
The food was absolutely amazing. Husband and I went here after a show at the Regent on sat. This is a gem. Best pasta I have ever had! The server was a little slow but the food def made up for it.
This restuarant never disappoints with the food and service, EXCELLENT!!!
Things are going to get even better as they getting ready to introduce new items...CAN NOT WAIT
Service was very good. Food was good as well.
Nice meal and great bottle of wine in a cozy booth within steps of the Orpheum Theatre! Waiter/host was friendly but not very knowledgeable about menus and didn't return credit card - had to return the next day to retrieve it.
Ruined my valentines dinner. Server was super ignorant and took 15 mins to even greet our table. Food was good but I’ll never go back
Had the Valentine’s Day 3 course meal. Each course served an hour of each other. Dessert took an additional 20 minutes to come out. Service was delayed and it wasn’t super busy even for Valentine’s Day... servers not attentive. Not worth it due to service being poor.
Waiter was a little off, and the Valentine's Day menu was fine but the waiter did not know enough about the food! (ie did not know how to pronounce bucatini. In any case, the food was 3/5 and everything else was 2/5 for me
We came for dinner before concert at the Orpheum on a Thursday night. We had 7 p.m. dinner reservations on the restaurant was empty. We received a very attentive service and the food was amazing. $15 corkage fee, so of course we brought our own bottle. The dessert bar is unbelievable. We will definitely return.
This restaurant got a new chef and what a difference. The food returns to being excellent. The service under the direction of Higinio remains exceptional!!!
Terrible service. No one at the front desk. No one at the bar. We had to track down a worker to order a drink and another one to let them know we had reservations. They messed up my order and my son’s order TWICE. Very dissatisfied.
Excellent service and amazing food! Best chicken piccata and their meatballs are made out of beef. Can’t wait to come back next time we visit. Thank you so much Amante for such an amazing experience!
The restaurant staff checked on how we were doing too often!
It's nice, but we were being asked how everything is like every 15min.
Too much service. Less is more.
There was bleach table cleaner on one of the food counters. They didn’t have 2 out of the 10 items on pre fix Dine LA menu. The waiter didn’t know what some of those items were. It was worth maybe half of what we paid. Very disappointed.
Rude wait staff and dinner took 2 plus hours for three courses.
Dimitri was a great waiter, the food was great, the ambiance was great. All around awesome experience and looking forward to coming back.
Food was greta but they only had one server! I can’t believe it
We were pleasantly surprised with how wonderful everything was the Amante Restaurant. We stumbled upon it while we were in town, because there were not many places open late in the evening on New Year's Day. The moment you walk in the door the wonderful aroma hits you. The ambiance was perfect with the right music and soft lighting ideal for conversation. All four of the dishes ordered, Homemade Lasagna, Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, Chicken Parmesan Spaghetti and Cheese Tortellini and were all delicious with the perfect serving size. Our waiter was great and suggested a nice bottle of wine for our meal, which happened to be half price on Tuesdays and the meal ended with the most delicious desserts of Red Velvet Cake and Chocolate Cheesecake.
Everything was delicious and we had a wonderful experience.
This was one of the most delicious and best meals of my entire life.
The restaurant was close.
Great place. 2nd time visiting. Iginio is an amazing host /? Server
It was quiet when I went. There wasn't many people there but the food was very good!
They had great food, service, and ambiance.
We were on our way to downtown LA to see a concert. The restaurant we were going too was closed that day. So, we looked online for an eatery close to our theater and saw the reviews on this restaurant being very positive. The reviews were right! It was some of the best Italian food we have every eaten and the service was superb. We will make this a regular stop when we are in the mood for Italian food. Go get you some!!!
Nice place but no guest. This is more of a take out dining.
The food was excellent and the service was incredible. It was really late when we arrived so there was no ambience but really enjoyed the experience.
Terrible food, bad service, and very bad value for the money. Went there on a weekday, the restaurant was almost empty (with only one other table occupied). It still took the waiter forever to arrive with the menu, asked for appetizers which never arrived and the food sat under the food lamps for about 5 mins until the person brought it to the table. I never had such a disgusting pizza in my life and the eggplant parm was a disgrace to food, Me and my date both had stomach aches the next day from such bad quality food. I will never ever visit here again!!
Lovely place. Found it bc of its proximity to ace hotel. Enjoyed!
This restaurant is conveniently located, short walking distance from the Orpheum Theater. The prices are reasonable, the quality excellent, with great values of wine and small platers at Happy Hour! We both enjoyed house Cabernet, shared fried calamari and broccoli rabe with prosciutto. My BF loved his chicken fettuccine Alfredo, and I enjoyed some eggplant Parmigiana. We were full from dinner, but we said Yes tonthe proprietor’s recommendation to try their housemade Tiramisu, a most satisfying and delicious dessert! We were very full and happy, and we enjoyed Boz Scaggs’ show at the Orpheum later in the evening!
We went there for dinner before a show at the Orpheum. The service was friendly and the food was very tasty.
Delicious food, excellent food, good prices. Parking in lot next door is expensive. Look for street parking. Overall I recommend it highly.
Downtown sucks overall so I’m bias about it. The place is easy to find and there is a parking lot next door but it’s $20.00 to park so be warned. The place is clean but very old like all the buildings in downtown.
What I didn’t like is that they would NOT make separate checks. We were a big group of 12 and we needed 5 separate checks but the manager refused to do it and that we had to figure to different totals ourselves. That bad attitude from the manager embarrassed me in front of my clients (I was the one who suggested this place) and I had to spend 30 min trying to figure out the stupid bill.
Not what I expected, while there is a restaurant, it seems like more of a takeout place.
This is a wonderful restaurant for one reason, his name is HIGINIO. We have never been to a restaurant, where someone really cares about you having a great experience. HIGINIO is attentive, he makes excellent recommendations, and will work with the kitchen to make sure you get what you want and how you want it. For this reason alone it is truly worth going to this place, just to be served by HIGINIO!
Called ahead to advise we were running a few minutes late and they seemed to either not know about our reservation or even care that we had one. Get there and the host/waiter was going to seat us at a table right by the door on a rather cold night (we opted for the bar instead) - and THIS is because they had also booked effectively the entire restaurant for a party thus pretty much wiping out our reservation.
My chicken parmesan took FOREVER to come out - and was lukewarm at best when it did materialize, and if it wasn't for the sauce I am sure the pasta would have been cold as well. My wife's salad came out without dressing and when we asked another server for some she just disappeared. Overall shoddy and snotty service. Will never return.
the ravioli was terrible. the waiter was fantastic and the lasagna was great
