Cunningham's Ratings and Reviews
First timers. BEST vodka gimlet of any local restaurants. Pumpkin/cider soup excellent as was the tuna and the steak. Server forgot to offer bread but otherwise good attention. Maple Creme Brulee was cold and not very "maplish". Appreciated the space between tables and the valet parking. Will definitely be back.
The prix fixe was great and the wine pairing were great as well. Service was fast and we barely had to wait at all from one dish to the next. The complimentary valet was also a nice surprise. We’ll definitely be going back for dinner on a normal night one day soon.
New Year’s Eve was my second time at Cunningham’s. They’re trying, but they fall short of their aspirations.
It’s in the details: A “wedge salad” that is a half a head of lettuce with a huge glob of blue cheese dressing- for instance. No offer of fresh ground pepper for any of the five courses, though grinders are visible in the server area. Beet salad pretty good, but bland- a missed opportunity to use an interesting fresh herb. Beef tenderloin was a highlight and done very well. (As is their fresh bread.) Desserts -we tried three- were uneven. Opera cake was particularly dry; beignets were good; pana cotta was just strange. Beignets were the only desserts finished by our party.
Of note: I requested a quieter seating area when I made the reservations because we had a hearing impaired guest. This was not noted or discussed w me, unlike other restaurants that use Open Table who have responded in some form or fashion, even if it’s to say that they can’t accomodate the request.
New Year's Eve dinner. Was never informed it was a very expensive pre fixe menu only. Seated at a very small table next to the bar when plenty of larger tables available (that stayed empty the entire time we were there). Other couples were given larger tables. People in the bar screaming constantly about football, which killed the ambience. Ordered steak medium and at most it was medium rare/rare. Other than steak food was very good. Drinks were weak. Wouldn't rush back.
We shared the beet salad which was very good and it came split which I appreciate. My filet was delicious and the potatoes that came with it were great! The New York strip was good. The creme brûlée was very enjoyable. But what really bothered us was that when we were leaving, a manager was going over scheduling with the hostess and we were waiting for our coats. They were 2 steps away so I just walked in to get them but that man was seemingly incensed and told me he would get it in a very rude manner.
Nice waiter. Took awhile for our cocktails. Fried oyster app was very good as usual. Son ordered seared tuna entree. Tuna was grey, not red, he ate it anyway. His side was forgotten until I reminded the manager. My scallops and risotto would have been very good if the risotto was not almost cold. Replaced the dish. Everything as it should be once the redo arrived except the dinner was already ruined. Waiter had disappeared after serving the cocktails. Disappointing meal Surprising and disappointing given that the restaurant was basically empty. My dish was comped but that doesn't negate the overall disappointing experience.
This was our first visit. We trek to Towson every December from NOVA to see Helicon at Goucher College and dine with good friends afterward. Previously another local restaurant was our go-to but not anymore! In fact, we’re looking for more reasons to drive over and dine there again! We shared the scallops with mushroom risotto, bronzino, tuna tartare, as well as fried and half-shell oysters. Great stuff!
This hidden Towson gem is perfect for indulging in great food-skillfully prepared. It's perfect for a couple who want to celebrate a special occasion without hurrying off to another event. Take time to learn how to find it (hidden in plain site off the beaten path). Kudos to the head chef and wait-staff.

Cunningham's is great! Beware if you are dining with older folks, as we were--some of their seating is wooden, pew-like benches. They're too hard on delicate backs. To avoid that issue, ask for the chair seating when you make your reservation. There are plenty of tables with chairs and it shouldn't be an issue. The food, ambience and service are otherwise great.
I like everything about Cunningham's. The indoor parking is convenient. The staff are friendly and capable. The menu is sophisticated without being pretentious. I like having a good choice of wine by-the-glass. The Cab Sauvignon I ordered was not cheap at $15 but quite good. Being in the mood for beef but not wanting a pound portion, I ordered the 7 oz. tenderloin which was as good as I have ever had and I didn't have to pay $50 for it.
This is the kind of restaurant that once only existed downtown. I love dining downtown, but I also love being able to enjoy a trendy, fine dining experience in the suburbs, too. Great food and service. The bar is nice, and has an excellent view of downtown Towson - I know that sounds strange but it’s actually picturesque! Free valet parking in the attached garage is icing on the cake.
As downtown Baltimore residents we rarely venture out to the suburbs for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised at how good our experience was at Cunningham's where we found ourselves after an event in Towson. The server was attentive and knowledgeable. The dining room was nicely laid out and allowed for reasonable conversation. Most importantly, the food and wine were excellent. The Sous Vide Chicken was the highlight. We will now look for other occasions to frequent this fine restaurant across from the Towson Mall.
The service has always been very good in the visits i have made and the food is very good as well. It seems a bit pricey but certainly not over the top. The parking attendant is very good, remembers people well. (did turn off the automatic headlights however.) the room is large, but I have never experienced a crowd. It is pleasant in the summer to sit outside on the terrace
From the valet parking to getting back in the car everything was absolutely wonderful.
The lamb dish was the best I've ever had and I have tasted many at different locations.
I felt like we were the only ones our waitor was attending too without being overly interruptive.
Cozy romantic relaxing atmosphere and elegant furnishings.
Keep doing what you do Cunningham's!!!😁👏
My husband and I went to Cunningham’s last night and it was FANTASTIC! Free valet, fantastic service, and delicious food. The wine was exactly as described by the waitress. We had the pork dumplings appetizer, which was just OK. For dinner husband had the lamb and I had the scallops over mushroom risotto. Both entrees were absolutely wonderful. Our food was perfectly prepared, although the portions were on the smaller side. And dessert was great as well. Our waitress was helpful and refilled our glasses at the perfect time. A little on the expensive side also, but overall a great experience for our date night. I would highly recommend Cunningham’s and will go there again!
