This is definitely a place I will keep going back to. The food and service were fantastic. Sunday night is a quieter night and it was perfect for our birthday celebration. Parking is easy in the garage downstairs. My steak came with truffle fries and creamed spinach. Everyone at the table was loving the fries and actually dipping them in the creamed spinach. Both were fantastic. Everyone enjoyed their choice of entrée. We also had the charcuterie and cheese plate which was delicious.
The seared Tuna was amazing and the atmosphere is terrific.
All went well!
Awful service in the bar area. Decent service in the dining area. Food was awful. Very disappointing after hearing good things. Won’t be back.
The ambiance was very nice. The service was attentive but not annoying. The food was excellent. Will definitely go back again and try other items on the menu. It was hard to decide what to get. Everything sounded so good!
The food was wonderful, but the waiter was covering too many tables so we had to wait for drink refills etc.
Contemporary atmosphere with creative menu. Reasonably priced wine list with some good options. Appetizers were great with some unique preparations. We all enjoyed a steak which was cooked to our preferred temperatures. Great place to enjoy a good meal in a comfortable atmosphere!
Decent wine list, good menu variety, and excellent desserts. A very good charcuterie collection is also on hand, although I did not experience it myself. I certainly recommend it if you are in the the Towson area looking for a more upscale restaurant.
I always enjoy going to Cunningham's, good food and a beautiful, comfortable atmosphere.
As always a stellar dining experience. The food was expertly prepared and seasoned. I admire a restaurant that has so much confidence in their chef that they don't put salt on the table.
Cunningham's does not disappoint. Food is consistently well made although not too foodie-ish. The service on this night was excellent-we were given ample time to chat as women are want to do. The half price wine bottle perk for Tuesday nights was fantastic for us. Tuesday also meant it was quieter in there than ususal. I find the very high ceilings to be noise reverberators and a drawback to the cozy thing. But on this quieter night for restaurants it wasn't an issue at all. I highly recommend a date night for Tuesdays!
We celebrated our dear friends’ 40th anniversary on Sunday. Our reservation was at 6pm. The dining room was quiet. We all ordered the Cunninghams Cheeseburger. One was with nothing on it. One was ordered with no Thousand Island dressing, but came with the dressing on it. We brought it to the managers attention and it problem was corrected immediately. The French fries were just right:
crispy and not oily. The delicious onion rings also were not oily. We shared a side of roasted Brussels Sprouts. They were roasted perfectly and the seasoning brought out the sweet flavor of the Brussels Sprouts. To celebrate the anniversary, a cupcake with a candle arrived at the table, just before our sorbet was brought to the table. The cupcake was terrific. And the chocolate mint sorbet tasted like thin mint cookies.
Food was delicious along with the presentation. All the staff were very attentive. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends.
Our waitress Jackie was the best. She suggested our dessert choice and it was phenominal!!! Very sweet and knowledgeable.
We had a great time, however, we were not overly impressed with the food. The selection was surprisingly limited. Very difficult to find anything healthy. The decor is beautiful and comfortable. The food would not draw me back there, but the ambience would for sure.
Great service, very accommodating!! Food was fantastic!
One of the best meals and overall dining experiences we've had in a long time. Not a single thing I wouldn't order again. Can't wait to go back.
The food was fresh, The waiter could not have been more accommodating, we had an awesome meal!
Food was excellent. Portions a bit on the small side for the price. Service was wonderful!
Waitress was just an apathetic dingbat. Not normally enough of a problem to derail a good experience but this was the case Saturday.
The food was great, but it is hard to enjoy it and talk to people at that level of noise.
Very noisy but yummy
It was a beautiful experience. The atmosphere is fresh and contemporary and the food is on point! A++
Lovely restaurant but due to a large birthday party, our salads took quite awhile to arrive. We did the pri fix dinners. Shrimp and grits were good. Walnut cake underwhelming.
Was very disappointed. Was expecting better food. The menu looks great but the food is not as good as the menu
Some dishes were good, some were just average. The service was awful. The waiter didn't stop by for at least 10 mind., bought us filthy wine glass, broke the cork on our bottle of wine and left the broken bit on the table through the whole meal, he never brought us bread, never brought a soda that was ordered, didn't remove an item from the check that he said he would (he fixed it, but had to be reminded), he didn't take 20% off some items as detailed on the menu for the night in question (again he fixed it but said he doesn't normally work the dining room and didn't know about it). He left two place settings on the table through the whole meal that we didn't need, but in the end it was a good thing because we kept needing silverware that he didn't bring us so we had extras. I felt a bit sorry for the waiter. It was clear he wasn't really a waiter, and I felt management shouldn't have let him on the floor or at least been monitoring him carefully (we never saw a manager anywhere near his station). We won't be headed back to Cunninghams. So good onion rings, a nice bottle of wine, good Bolognese, and great crème burlee, don't balance out a lack luster Caesar, runny risotto, a weird flavor combo dumpling appetizer, and truly bad service.
Was surprised that meal here was under par for the amount you pay. Server Amanda was great and apologetic about slow meal service. Took a long time to get our drinks, salad was excellent. Entree was really fatty ribeye with over roasted brussells. Only given 4 scallops in seafood dish and risotto cooked to mush and watery. Will think twice about going back. Amanda did comp my steak which was sweet. Meal was still close to $100. Big disappointment.
Great food, great service! Will definitely come back in the neat future!
Had dinner here with youngest son & girl friend. Loved the place and food was excellent. We'll be back!
Food was excellent as was the sevice
Excellent date night location. First time eating here with great food, great cocktails, and great atmosphere. We will definitely be returning in the future!
The food was disappointing. Didn’t seem like it was really farm to table.
Excellent food, great service, good portions. If it wasn’t so far from Gaithersburg we’d be there every weekend
This place was great i could not complain even if i tried everything from start to finish was just so great this us a casual dinning type and a bit pricey but well worth it in my opinnion specially if u want to dazzle your sweetheart
We dined here for Valentine's Day 2018. Overall we had a very enjoyable evening. Here's a few of our experience comments to provide:
The two-person table that we sat at was borderline uncomfortable proximity to other couples, but we made the best of it. We ordered their sangria (carafe) and it was absolutely delicious, however we couldn't help but notice $7/glass vs. $28/carafe was disproportionate. We *maybe* got three glasses of sangria from the carafe since it was overloaded with ice. That was a bit of a turnoff, but whatever - it truly was very delicious.
It was a Pre-fixed menu which was fine. The appetizers that we ordered (avocado/lobster salad and Oysters) were flavorful. Salad was extremely fresh and light; and oysters were perfectly cooked. W.R.T. the Oysters - it is very evident that Cunningham's puts effort behind their dishes; however for this one, they compensated with 'filler' ingredients when the portions are very small.
Entree's: We ordered the Pork Loin and Lamb Rack. Both were Rock-star dishes. Complements to the chef(s)! Pork had a nice smoky yam side which gave a complementary dish. Lamb came with a nice hash/pimiento-style side that was enjoyable. A little on the sour side, but definitely tasty.
We skipped desserts and substituted this for their Shrimp Bisque soup appetizer. This was very good... we had hoped it would have more ingredients in it such as shrimp bits or a veggie, but overall - delish.
All-in-all, it was a very delicious experience. We did leave though thinking that they've overpriced themselves a bit though.
Solid venue for the occasion date!
Went for Valentine’s Day. Prix Fix menu. First time dining. Service was great. All the food was very good. Cocktails, Lobster salad, rack of lamb, dessert. Price was reasonable. Will be back
The food was amazing from start to finish. Corey was our server and did a fabulous job. I will return for some shrimp and grits.
Valentine's day we decided to revisit Cunningham's. Our first visit was on my birthday a few months ago and we were very impressed. Our second visit was just as impressive. Everything was delicious
As always a wonderful dining experience. It was my birthday and they gave me a birthday treat. This was not my first visit and won't be my last.
Overall, the food and ambiance at Cunningham's was pretty good. We were mostly disappointed by the service. Upon arriving for a 9pm reservation on a Saturday, we were surprised that the hostess didn't even look up from her computer to acknowledge our arrival. After waiting a few moments (when no one else was around and it was pretty quiet at the entrance) my husband finally said hello to her and without looking up she said, "I'll be with you in a second." Certainly not what you would call a warm or gracious welcome. When we did have her attention and she led us to our table, she didn't smile once. Same thing happened when we left and said goodbye. Our servers were very nice, but there seemed to be confusion about who was serving us as several people stopped by to offer menus, welcomes, specials, but it still took until 9:30 before we got our first drink. There was a lot of emphasis on the farm to table approach of the restaurant but this was not really evident in the menu; for example, no attempts were made in identifying where the produce, meat, seafood was sourced. The menu was also pretty small and traditional - nothing too exciting. My husband really liked his duck confit toast appetizer and I enjoyed by shrimp and grits which had lots of veggies and a great broth. The atmosphere was quiet and elegant. Some small tweaks would make this place a regular on our schedule.
