Cunningham's Ratings and Reviews
Cunningham's is great! Beware if you are dining with older folks, as we were--some of their seating is wooden, pew-like benches. They're too hard on delicate backs. To avoid that issue, ask for the chair seating when you make your reservation. There are plenty of tables with chairs and it shouldn't be an issue. The food, ambience and service are otherwise great.
I like everything about Cunningham's. The indoor parking is convenient. The staff are friendly and capable. The menu is sophisticated without being pretentious. I like having a good choice of wine by-the-glass. The Cab Sauvignon I ordered was not cheap at $15 but quite good. Being in the mood for beef but not wanting a pound portion, I ordered the 7 oz. tenderloin which was as good as I have ever had and I didn't have to pay $50 for it.
This is the kind of restaurant that once only existed downtown. I love dining downtown, but I also love being able to enjoy a trendy, fine dining experience in the suburbs, too. Great food and service. The bar is nice, and has an excellent view of downtown Towson - I know that sounds strange but it’s actually picturesque! Free valet parking in the attached garage is icing on the cake.
As downtown Baltimore residents we rarely venture out to the suburbs for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised at how good our experience was at Cunningham's where we found ourselves after an event in Towson. The server was attentive and knowledgeable. The dining room was nicely laid out and allowed for reasonable conversation. Most importantly, the food and wine were excellent. The Sous Vide Chicken was the highlight. We will now look for other occasions to frequent this fine restaurant across from the Towson Mall.
The service has always been very good in the visits i have made and the food is very good as well. It seems a bit pricey but certainly not over the top. The parking attendant is very good, remembers people well. (did turn off the automatic headlights however.) the room is large, but I have never experienced a crowd. It is pleasant in the summer to sit outside on the terrace
From the valet parking to getting back in the car everything was absolutely wonderful.
The lamb dish was the best I've ever had and I have tasted many at different locations.
I felt like we were the only ones our waitor was attending too without being overly interruptive.
Cozy romantic relaxing atmosphere and elegant furnishings.
Keep doing what you do Cunningham's!!!😁👏
My husband and I went to Cunningham’s last night and it was FANTASTIC! Free valet, fantastic service, and delicious food. The wine was exactly as described by the waitress. We had the pork dumplings appetizer, which was just OK. For dinner husband had the lamb and I had the scallops over mushroom risotto. Both entrees were absolutely wonderful. Our food was perfectly prepared, although the portions were on the smaller side. And dessert was great as well. Our waitress was helpful and refilled our glasses at the perfect time. A little on the expensive side also, but overall a great experience for our date night. I would highly recommend Cunningham’s and will go there again!
My husband and I had dinner at Cunningham's for my birthday. We started with a few drinks and an appetizer at the bar. The bartender was attentive and the drinks were great. We moved to the dining room for dinner. We wanted to try as many items as possible, so we shared the watermelon salad, followed by the seared tuna, and then one of the brick-oven pizzas. The waitress offered to split the watermelon salad and tuna for us, which was much appreciated. The watermelon salad was diving - I would highly recommend it. We also thoroughly enjoyed the tuna, which was seared rare as requested on a bed of brussel sprouts - delicious! We were slightly disappointed with the country ham and goat cheese pizza - it seems like the arugula on the pizza was drenched in vinegar. The pizza had an overall vinegary/tart taste that was off-putting. It was unfortunate because the crust itself was delicious as was the rest of the meal. I would still highly recommend Cunningham's for dinner but if you plan on ordering one of the pizzas, I would skip the country ham and goat cheese in favour of another one.
This was the second time we dined at Cunningham's and again, we were not disappointed. Once we arrived, I openly said "hello" to the staff in the kitchen and other servers and was pleasantly surprised when then all responded in unison to greet me. What a nice beginning to a pleasant evening.
Our server, Andy, was very attentive to our needs and described the entrees in question. We chose the watermelon and the wedge as our salads and both were very tasty. Then to the crab cake and filet - and they, too, were delicious. We opted out of dessert.
We will return and I was pleased to find out that since we were not able to get our table of choice, I was advised that it has been noted in the Cunningham database and whenever reservations are made in the future, the table will be noted as...preferred. Thank you for a great "date" night.
The food was excellent, as was the service. Everyone was friendly and professional on the staff. The choice of menu items was good, but could be more extensive. We had a party of four, with each of us ordering something different. Our only complaint is the portion sizes and some meals need more than one side. We don't mind spending extra money for good food and service (which this was) but we don't want to leave the restaurant still hungry.
Bronzino great, as always. Fried chicken and waffles terrible: way too much batter, and the waffle spread had the consistency of tar and no real flavor. And the noise was OVERWHELMING - we really had to strain to hear each other talk across the table. However, I still like the place. Just stay away from the chicken and waffles, and ask for seating in a quiet section.
Great food, creative menu! Aside from the lamb not being temperature hot, we had a wonderful meal! Sundae was fabulous too! Loved the personal attention of the chef, Jay, walking around to tables & speaking to guests. We have been to Cunningham’s before, brought new friends this time & you didn’t disappoint us!
The food was very good, the service was poor and the restaurant is terribly over priced. Our waiter admitted being there only 3 weeks, struggled with the menu and couldn't keep up with us and his other tables. My son's steak came out ice cold. I waited for 25 minutes for a cappucino that I was convinced was whipped milk and water and no coffee. I had one glass of wine early on and was never asked if I wanted another or something else until dinner was cleared in preparation for dessert. We were four people, had one glass of wine and shared two desserts and our bill was nearly $250. Unfortunately I won't going back.
Great fall new menu! We enjoyed a new bourbon drink made with apple brandy that I would definitely recommend. We asked that it be made less sweet and it was, but the server did not remember to keep the second round less sweet so that round was a bit sweet. The drink is great. The new fall arugula salad with apples is a treat to the eye and the palette. The dressing is just right. The pumpkin soup was perfect for a fall evening. We shared the fried oysters. The cornmeal breading was great but it overpowered the oysters. We each had the new rockfish special for fall. Excellent! I thought the sweet potato turnover had too much dough to sweet potato ratio but my friend thought it was just fine. We shared the devils food cake. Unlike any devils food cake I have ever had, it was so good we finished it off. Lovely evening.
We have been wanting to go since it opened, decided to try it for our anniversary; it was perfect. The waiter Laz was fantastic; very attentive, but not over bearing. We et Tapas style with 6 appetizers, the came out quickly and each was unique and flavor, and delicious. We would have a hard time picking which we liked best.
This has become one of our favorite spots for excellent food and atmosphere. We took friends who had never been and they were delighted. The pumpkins soup with cider had a special zing, the fried oysters were as delicious as always, and the shrimp and grits rocked. Our only minor complaint is that we asked to be seated in the quiet section far from the bar - we were, BUT they proceeded to sit every other diner who came in there, and the noise became deafening to the point that we cut short our conversation over coffee and left. A minor issue with an otherwise perfect evening.
Consistently excellent food. Knowledge of staff impressive Ronnie the best. All levels of staff friendly appreciative gracious. Love sitting near kitchen. Love being able to ask specifics and get intelligent answers. Will return again and again. Thank you. Best restaurant for 25 miles around.
