If you would like notch food quality and something slightly different at a very affordable price, Culture ETX is the place to go! The curbside tables are a nice addiction and allow for social distancing in an otherwise small venue. The beef tartare is to die for....The fact that it is also currently BYOB is not hurting the credit card either. Will be back soon!
The food was incredible. From the Brickstreet Board to the Grilled salmon and the Yardbird (and don't miss the collard greens and mac & cheese). Totally worth the wait.. BYOB but beware. If they bring you a wine glass for a screw top bottle of Rose', or a glass for a bottle of beer you can open yourself, they will charge you $10!

All of those fees are listed on our Open Table page, as well as on our website, all menus, and one of our servers should have brought it to your attention when they called to confirm your reservation, as well as when they were taking care of y'all at the table. Chef Lance is talented and brinds a passion unrivaled in Tyler. He uses local vendors and his menu is always changing. He also helped local businesses durn this pandemic. He is also a Veteran. He served our country and now serves serious food in downtown Tyler.
The food at Culture is phenomenal! We have ordered take-out a few times and have raved about it to everyone. However, this time, we made reservations to sit down and eat. The service was sub par to say the least. The best service came from the guy that cleaned off our table and got us water multiple times. Our reservation was at 8:00 pm and we didn't get our one salad and one sandwich until 9:15! Keep in mind that restaurants are operating at 50% capacity right now.

We are currently training two new servers after reopening from the pandemic (we had to wait until 50% capacity to open due to our small size), and are still adjusting to accommodating our new patio seating. Food was all delicious! Flat iron steak and heirloom tomato salad were both stand-outs, and we really liked the fried bread pudding. You really need to eat here.
Great menu, decent prices and sublime food! We've been trying to go to Culture ETX for months but never had a reservation but on a whim we were able to get a reservation to get in on a Wednesday evening! There is outdoor dining as well. Our meal was delicious. We tried the meatball starter and their red sauce is sublime. My husband got the Flat Iron Steak with caramelized onions which he had a fit over. I had the Wagyu Bolognese with their from scratch pasta and it was amazing. The chef stopped by to check on us which we appreciated as well though not a thing was wrong with our meal. By the way, this is a BYOB with a $10 cork fee and a $5 beer setup fee. I didn't know this so we didn't take anything with us. We will definitely be going back!!

A Tyler Original. Do not miss one of the best restaurants in town. Amazing food and consistently prepared. It's BYOB which is a plus. Great atmosphere and all the staff and master chef are so fun and personable. My favorite place for a wonderful dining experience, and I go here on a regular basis. Killer steaks, amazing cheese and meat boards, fantastic pasta bolognese, best black eyed peas you'll ever have, bone marrow, octopus just to name a few favorites. Great sandwiches for lunch and tasty salads as well.

We very much enjoyed our first visit. The menu offers some wonderful unusual choices. The octopus small plate was so delicious and the Tomahawk ribeye was cooked to perfection. It's great to see the kitchen staff working to prepare each order. Will definitely return. It's a little noisy but that won't stop us from returning.
We always enjoy our meal at CultureETX. I finally remembered to order the yard bird when we were seated to allow the cook time. I was not disappointed!! Great flavor and I love the crispy skin. The brick street board was fantastic as always. Lance and the crew didn’t disappoint. We look forward to the next visit.

Delicious food! The bone in ribeye and whole red fish are not to be missed. Also, the meat and cheese board is the best in town. Unique meats and cheeses that you won’t find other places. Lance and his team are doing amazing things!
The food is always incredible. In particular I love the octopus my husband is a big fan of the pork. Ofcourse nothing beats the side of macaroni and cheese. The last time we were there we tried the cheeseboard, it was fabulous and worth the money. Can get a little crowded and tables are close making for more noise than we like but the food is worth it

We were with another couple who had never been to CultureETX. They loved it and I think will now be regulars, like me. Everything was spot on tonight. Standout was the redfish special. Waiters Michael and Andrew did a great job. We try to go to dinner twice a month at least. If you haven’t tried it you’re missing out. Tyler, support this gem!

I started with the Texas Waygu Tartare. In my opinion, the keys to beef tartare are fresh ingredients, texture, layers of flavor, and presentation. Each is critical. This dish was A++ in each category. I have tasted beef tartare in many high end restaurants around the country and this is by far the best I have EVER had. Bravo!!
I had one bite of my wife's octopus small plate (she was guarding it closely) and the one taste was delicious. Octopus is extremely difficult to cook properly because it is tough if not cooked perfectly. Is this restaurant really in Tyler!!!!
My second course was Duck Confit. Once again the layers of flavors and contrast of textures and layers of flavors was outstanding and this dish is a tour de force! My only very minor complaint with this dish is the duck was just slightly over salted but that is a very minor issue. High end comfort food!!
I finished the meal with a chocolate mouse with what I believe were crushed coffee beans and nuts. Delicious.
The BYOB policy made this meal even more special because I got to bring my mature wines which made the meal even more special. I hope the BYOB policy continues. I wouldn't mind paying a corkage fee to help with restaurant revenue just to be able to keep bringing my own wines.
Last but not least, the prices are extremely fair for this level of quality. I spent about $60 per person with a 20% tip. I consider this a bargain.

Chef Lance McWhorter can really cook up a good meal. My husband and I had the butternut squash soup and it was spectacular! The way he seasoned the bone in rib eye and the macaroni and cheese was amazing. We’ll gladly go back!

Delicious and really enjoyed being able to watch our food being cooked. Very fresh and lots of different, unique choices. Portions were perfect. A higher end experience so the prices must reflect it but so worth it. Be sure to make reservations because you most likely won’t be able to just show up and be seated.
First of all let me help you understand how this works. This is a working kitchen!! Which means when the kitchen is full the THE KITCHEN is FULL!! you will have to wait because they make each dish one at a time. This isn't Applebee's so be patient. Chef Lance has a fine eye for detail and everything is perfect before he calls for service and it arrives at your table. Did I already say BE PATIENT!! The wait staff will not be looming over you but, don't be afraid to ask questions. They are more than willing to explain everything for you.It's BYOB so bring your drink of choice to pair with your food. They will get your drink orders first, then come to take your food order when the kitchen is ready. THAT'S HOW THIS WORKS!! We had a party of 7 and it was hands down worth the wait and the money. We bought every 22oz bone in Rib eye they had and they were cooked to perfection. (Medium rare only). Keep in mind EVERYTHING you eat her is locally sourced from Palestine, Jacksonville, Lindale and other surrounding areas. Personally, I have had steaks from New York to Dubai and this was hands down one of the top 3 I've every had in my life. Try The French Fries. I know, whats special about FF you ask? I don't know but, you wont be able to stop eating these things. You aren't going here for just a meal, you go here for an experience and that's exactly what you get. Bon Appetit...
