At dinner, a signature cocktail and slow braised 36-hour pork ribs are a perfect pair. While you and your crew enjoy damn good food & drinks, a local band plays live for great vibes. A very good find while traveling to Gilbert, Arizona!
My husband & I shared a very generous avocado & strawberry salad. Change the goat cheese dressing for a creamy lemon dressing which was fantastic. My husband had a delicious cut off the bone prime rib sandwich cooked to perfection and not dried out and grey like so many times at different restaurants. I had a fantastic skirt steak cooked medium/rare, more on the rare side as requested with truffle butter - delicious - loved it! Both served with fries. I enjoyed their Argentine Malbec a generous pour for &10.
My husband and I shared what they called peach cobbler which was basically soft served iced cream with some peach crumbles but our server did explain it wasn’t the usual type of cobbler. Our server was very helpful with the menu, friendly and attentive.
We will definitely return to this restaurant!!!
Great service, great food. Live music was a bit loud, but that’s expected. For the food and service, the price is more than reasonable. I ordered two of the most expensive meal, in addition to dessert and a healthy tip yet stayed under $100. Would recommend.
Great food and service
Great food. A bit too noisy for a good conversation.
Food was pretty good, much too noisy. Service was not bad.
Our waitress was really friendly and attentive.
The food was good, but a bit pricey for the quantity.
The ambiance was nice and we enjoyed the live music.
Menu is limited for food items but plentiful for beverages.
Seems that the restaurant is more about socializing while drinking and eating appetizers. Even so, we would go back because of the warm pretzels and cheese fondue.
Food was cold and brought out the wrong food
Enjoyed our meal very much. Waiter was outstanding. Music was nice, although was a bit loud and booming in the large room. Highly recommend making a reservation so you don't have to wait on the weekend.
The best friend chicken I've ever had, I want to be able to bring a bucket of it home with me!
Arrival was awkward we were early for a reservation asked for waitlist ended up being seated at reservation time. Host station not very friendly kind of mechanical and cold. Atmosphere was fun interesting and spread out. I appreciated how tables were spaced. Server was very busy with large tables so we kind of got left behind. Took longer than normal for drinks, apps, entrees and checks. Food was just average, presentation was rushed a little sloppy and flavor was just ok. The menu looks eclectic and fun I will give it another try on a slower day just to see if things improve. Overall it was average nothing flagrantly wrong or bad just ok.
Meh. Nothing special.
People working there are friendly. Food was very average. I ordered the salmon dinner ($24). All I got was a small square of salmon (smallest portion I've ever seen at a restaurant) served in a large bowl with creamed corn and 3 or 4 pieces of asparagus. VERY poorly presented and it looked like an appetizer portion, not a dinner. My friend ordered a salad with chicken and almonds. Mostly lettuce and 2 pieces of chicken with NO nuts. Drinks were average too. Very hard to have a conversation with the band blasting in the room. I will NOT go back. Not worth it especially due to the food.
Hi Andrew, I want to apologize that your experience here at Culinary Dropout did not live up to your expectations. I never want our guests to feel as if we have let them down or that they did not receive value while dining here. I would love to have you come back in and let us take care of your entrees and appetizers as a way to make up for your last visit! Please message me back on here when you get this so we can get a reservation set up. Thank you, Sarah
I had ordered the club sandwich and asked for no tomato with a side salad and my friend ordered the fish and chips. We are both British and so have to say the fish and chips was good would definitely order again. When my sandwich came the salad had the tomatoes removed but the sandwich didn’t but the manager came over and insisted on making me another one. I was really impressed with the service there and the food. The live band was a little too loud which meant that to speak you have to shout but other than that everything else was 5 star. Would definitely recommend this establishment and will definitely return
They need to expand their menu options, in my opinion. What we got was good, but there wasn't anything exciting.
Great food. Great service
A girlfriend’s birthday
Great ambiance. Great food. Friendly service. Clean restaurant.
I have eaten at Culinary Dropout for dinner a few times & always thought the food was very good so I decided to try it with a friend for brunch. Unfortunately, we were both disappointed. I ordered a basic 2 egg breakfast with potatoes and they weren't even scratch-made potatoes. They were literally the frozen cube kind that you do in a fryer. Like what you would get at a dive bar. I was really surprised by this because you expect elevated food from Culinary. My friend got a southwest breakfast bowl of some kind but she said it was really bland. All she could taste were the black beans and not much else. However, our passion fruit mimosas were outstanding! Probably the best tasting that I have ever had. The server and atmosphere were equally fantastic so I am torn on this review. At the end of the day though you go to a restaurant for food first and everything else is secondary so...that is why I don't recommend for breakfast. Not worth it, unfortunately.
Hi LaineyJ! I want to apologize that your brunch experience was disappointing! I never want our guests to feel like we have let them down. I would love to invite you back in and take care of your entrees as a way to make up for it! Please message me back on here when you get this so we can get a reservation set up! Thank you
Great atmosphere and drinks. Salad and apps were very good. The entry was just ok. Nonetheless would come back. Great service.
Took way too long to get food and drinks. Server did not come around nearly as often as they should have. This seems to be the case every time we go. Won't be going anymore. Too many good restaurants in that area to put up with that kind of service.
Love eating at Culinary Drop out as the food is always great and the atmosphere is fun. One down fall is live music is so loud you can’t hear the people at your table talk without yelling.
We enjoy going to Culinary Dropout, because the food is always good. We try to avoid the times they have live music, because it is too hard to try to have a conversation. I should have asked ahead of time, but I was not expecting their to be a live band at noon, on the Sunday we were there, especially with COVID restrictions still in place. We were having a nice conversation, until the music started. Guess I need to avoid Sundays. 😢
Hello! I wanted to reach out and apologize that you weren't able to enjoy your experience here at Culinary Dropout last Sunday. We do have live music Friday & Saturday nights, as well as Sunday brunch. We are happy to accommodate our guests and place them in a quieter area of the restaurant if needed during these times. I would love to get you back in and take care of a couple appetizers for you! Please message me back here and we can get a reservation set up for you! Talk to you soon! Sarah
It was a great Sunday Funday with good friends. Our waitress was very attentive and food delivery was prompt and delicious. And, the band that day was amazing. I could have stayed quite a while just listening to them. The atmosphere was fantastic. I will be back.
Kitchen didn't have it together. Orders would come at different times even when everyone ordered the same thing (e.g. dessert). My dessert didn't come until after everyone else at the table already finished theirs. Waiter did a great job trying to compensate.
The live music was really cool
The item that we didn't like was the monkey bread. I think you should work on a better tasting dessert.
Brought friends visiting from Florida to Culinary Dropout because I was raving about the soft pretzels. My absolute fav. Our waitress, Nikki, was excellent. She was busy too, but made time to check on us throughout our meal.
The Korean Style Prime Rib was one of the best steaks I have had anywhere! Highly recommend this dish!
Please bring back the peanut butter cookie bar desert I sorely miss.
Pub Burger was very messy. Small amount of fries. Diet Soda only filled once.
Hi! I want to start by apologizing for the messiness of the pub burger and your disappointment while dining with us! I never want our guests to feel like we let them down in any way or that they did not receive value while here. I would love to take care of your entree next time you come in as a way to make up for it! Please message me back on here when you get this so we can get a reservation set up! Thank you, Sarah
I love the Dropout! Go check it out..
Great vibe - amazing food - a real treat! Highly recommend the Nachos's starter and the Pork Ribs - Limited desert options.
We have been there a few times, and this was one of the best. The Korean Ribeye & the ribs were great and we felt well cared for. Music was good, but a little louder than we prefer, but still good.
We went during COVID physically distancing and tables were further apart.
We had GREAT service from Nolan!! Food came out quickly and hot! Started with the homemade chips and dip- very thinly slices, very good. Ordered the cauliflower as an appetizer- exceptional! Fried chicken and sides were solid for anyone that does not want to venture far outside of comfort food. We really enjoyed the salmon served over a bed of sweet corn with heirloom tomatoes on top! Perfection!
Food could have been better, a little overpriced but the service was good.
Had a poor experience with the quality of our food. First, our steak was overcooked and burnt so we had to wait longer for them to make a new one, they brought the new one and it was supposed to be medium rare but it was raw and cold, our waitress gladly took it back and had them cook a new one, well they didn’t, it ended up being the same steak they heated up again and it was still very very pink. Our waitress explained how they were training a new person but I guess the new person couldn’t get it right. We felt bad for asking for our check so we could just leave but it just wasn’t worth it anymore. Our waitress was wonderful and so kind, you could tell she was frustrated and embarrassed with the quality of the food, she told us to not even worry about paying for anything because of it, I probably will only return again, not because of the food but because of the service we got from her, she needs a raise!
It was hot as heck because they had to leave the doors open in 115 degree weather but the food was really good
I like going there because I can make a reservation
