Culinary Dropout - Austin
Service was very slow, it wasn't that busy but our food took almost one hour.
First time I’ve ever said anything negative about this place. Not sure what the problem was. Our server kept disappearing. We waited a very long time for everything. However, the wait to take care of the check was so long that we finally walked it up to the bar. I know we’ll be back; hopefully, it was a one time thing!
Sadly, this was a rather disappointing experience. We were seated over 30 min past our reservation time, and then, it was only because staff asked the previous tenants at the table to vacate. I’m not a fan of that policy and think it reflects poor management of the reservation process. The food was definitely good and we had a very attentive server. But, the noise level is through the roof, making conversation next to impossible.
Great atmosphere, great food, great service!
Best fried chicken I have had in Texas, loud setting and substantial wait after our reserved time.
Fun atmosphere, delicious food. Took a friend there for her birthday and it was great
This is a very loud restaurant. However, it is very fun! My husband and I took our 16 month old daughter. She loved it...and no one was bothered by her noise! The patio is dog friendly. Most of all, the food is delicious. We would go back once a week if we lived closer.
Great food and a great time! Live music was definitely a plus as well :)
My daughter picked this place for her 17th birthday and we had a wonderful time. i appreciated how easy it was to make the reservation and that the table for 8 was ready when we got there. Our server was very attentive and didn’t make us feel rushed to order or to leave. They even lit a candle for my daughter’s dessert. We enjoyed watching the kitchen through the window right above our table. When we go back we’ll definitely build in time to play the games on the patio. Overall a great experience!!
Culinary Dropout has great food and service and a great atmosphere. On our most recent two visits, the band was WAY too loud. Overall I definitely recommend it.
Its really loud and they have the most uncomfortable chairs. They are the same style at the bar also. They will turn tables because of the poor seating. Comfort was sacrificed for the style of chair. It actually diminished the enjoyment of the dinner. It is also extremely loud
We had a nice experience. We were a bit turned off by the gentleman working in EXPO position --- as he had a long, fuzzy beard that was hanging over all of the food he was arranging. Not good. He should be wearing a beard net.
Great place for a girls birthday lunch! A little loud for us but we are old 👍👍
Super fun place in the Domain ... GREAT food & drinks ... fun games (ping pong, corn hole)
Always a great spot for happy hour and early dinner, especially when the weather cooperates and you can sit outside in the wonderful outdoor area. Great atmosphere and food.
Excellent! Good vibes
We love Culinary Dropout. The food is great and the staff is so friendly. We always have a great experience!
Excellent service and good, creative food menu. Our favorites were the build your own charcuterie plate, the vegan curry and the avo toast. They accommodated our party of seven for Saturday brunch and it was a hit from the 6 year old all the way up. It was just a bit too loud for easy conversation.
The food was just OK. Service was good and the seating was nice. The music was entirely way too loud, you have to scream your conversations.
staff is a lil pretentious
Great environment, pork belly nachos were the best, service was very good.
New Year’s Day
Great meal! Great service! Such a fun atmosphere!! Don’t need a reason to go enjoy a meal at Culinary Dropout!!!
The food and place was awesome! It was NYE so busy and nosey was expected. We were seated near corn hole and almost got hit a few times from the gamers. The server was very nice but somewhat neglective - guess she had too many tables. Will definitely go back!
My girlfriend wanted me to try the ribs here on NYE. We had a 6:30 reservation and I ordered the ribs and at 6:45 the waiter came back and said they ran out of ribs. I ordered the salmon which was good but it put a real damper on the experience here.
Very loud with tables too close together. Server was very good but food was cold when served. Disappointing.
Delish as always and great service! Good place for families and kids loved their food.
Culinary Dropout is my favorite restaurant at the Domain! I love coming here for any reason. The food is so good!
This place is popular, make sure to secure reservations! So awesome, love the live music, the food is yummy, service is great!
Great place! Awesome food and fun atmosphere. Tom was our waiter and he was amazing!
Food was good but took an EXTREMELY long time to get.
Food was not served hot. Gravy was warm. Chicken dry.
We had a group of 8, ranging from age 3 to 30 to 60+ years. We all enjoyed the delicious food. Indoor seating was a bit noisy, but after dinner we went to the "covered patio" where acoustics were easier on the ears. We all played some games, including corn hole, ping pong, and foosball.
Wonderful waitstaff, delicious unique recipes. Was a great Christmas Eve
Great time and our server Katie was awesome. The food was delish.
Game was on so it was very loud. Our server was a bit hard to find and they couldn’t get the heat lamp to work. But good food, ravioli and bacon Bloody Mary were hits.
Great place to hang out and food is great.
The atmosphere was ok. Margherita was nice...more ice than drink though. The food was average. My husbands filet had bones. The group next to us had their dog there. It jumped up on the seat...since the seating is super close it was a bit of an irritation and a disappointment. We are from out of town and I'm not used to animals being allowed in a restaurant at the table, plus im allergic. My eyes started itching and I started sneezing like crazy. This pretty much ruined my evening. Wish I had know they served animals too. There were two other dogs a few tables down barking like crazy. Don't care to have dinner at a kennel. Not for me! Our waitress was great though.
