Our service was awful and the server had no idea what she was talking about or doing, all of the food came out at completely different times, my $20 pasta was cold and left me feeling hungry, and my friends pizza was covered in greese and was soggy. I am very disappointed with my experience here.
Cugino's is an excellent Italian restaurant with a very good wine list. If you go there in the Summer expect a short staff but the longer wait is worth it for the dining experience. It is a little noisy but not offensively so. We sill be back.
It was off season, and it was our servers first day. In spite of a few hiccups, our meals were excellent and we were treated very well. The owner makes sure everything is just right.
cute place, but dimly lit and menus desperately need to be reprinted. nearly impossible to read! only 1 server for entire restaurant, she did best she could, but we had to ask for bread and waters. caeser salad dressing is house made, but was too tangy and we did not like it. fresh pasta dishes were excellent though! and it was odd that they sat us next to a messy table littered with kid stuff and file folders that no one sat at or even attempted to clear up. summary: order food to go!
Total disaster of an evening. The staff was unable to keep up with all their tables - we were seated 20 minutes after our reservation. It took about an hour to get our main orders ( no appetizers ). The food was forgettable and overpriced. I have made better pasta in any given Wednesday.
Would not recommend.
Not sure why people are so impressed.
Extremely Disappointing. They were out of a number of items. Be prepared to wait. Waited 45 minutes for our dinner salads. Waiter forgot to bring bread. Asked him twice and was told he would bring it out.....never happened. Waited another 30 minutes for our meals. Chicken Marsala was cooked with skin still on and was very salty. Eggplant Florentine was "bready". Worst meal and dining experience that I have ever had in Steamboat in past 10 years.
Dakota was a poor server. Food very avg. multiple menu items not available.
I met a friend who is new to town for lunch at Cuginos, where we had a cozy spot next to the fireplace on a snowy day. Joey, our waiter, was friendly and joking around with us as we made it clear we were settling in for a LONG lunch! My friend had the calzone (enormous and apparently delicious, as she didn't offer me a bite) while I had an excellent Americano Margherita pizza. Prices were very reasonable and the atmosphere was relaxed. I'm planning another lunch date there so I can try the calzones!
Great service & food. Prices were good for amount of food.
Great food, just a little small on the portions for the price.
Service: arrived 6:45, didn't eat until around 8pm. Asked server twice for water without ice; had to get it from the bar myself. House wine was plentiful. Family-style salad was a good idea, but it looked like they'd just dumped it out of a bag that had been sitting around all day - top greens were so wilted it was not edible - set a pile of limp greens on the table hoping someone would notice; hard to believe someone would serve it. Had clam linguine - I spat out one of the clams as it had turned. Woke up at midnight with very bad guts - the whole meal went through me in an hour. Very unpleasant. Will not go back.
Much better than I expected based on some prior reviews. Nice ambiance. Service wasn’t the greatest but they seemed short handed and our server did the best he could. Food overall was excellent. Good selection for kids. We had fried artichokes which were very good. I had chicken involtini and would recommend.
The complimentary tiramisu at the end of the meal is always a treat. The ambiance is normally very nice, but unfortunately at our last visit we were seated next to a party of 15, 8 of whom were boisterous young children left on their own at one end of the table. We felt like we were sitting in a school cafeteria. It was difficult to carry on a conversation. Not so great for a relaxing dinner, but good for families, I guess.
Portion of lasagna was very small. Salads never showed up, until after meal. Chicken toscano was good. Place was understaffed, making service slow.
The food was delicious, but it was an off night for service. If you’re not in a hurry, great place to take kids.
The food was good. The service was very slow. Took over an hour to get our food. There were 9 of us. Server brought our food out plate by plate instead of all at once. Not worth the price or time.
We had a large party. They were very accommodating. Few little hiccups (appetizer forgotten but comped). Overall great. Food very good. Kid friendly. Staff very helpful. Will definitely be back!
Great pizza/Italian Place. Very nice they take reservations. Good service and ambiance - great place for large groups.
As usual the food was fabulous, it was an early lunch and enjoyed that it wasn’t very crowded at that time. Of course it filled up but it did not impair our service. Great place for lunch and dinner.
We went to Cugino’s last week and had a great dinner! Started with the mussels and calamari, which were delicious. I had the homemade pappardelle with bolognese sauce and my husband had eggplant parmesan - we both really liked our dishes. Girls had pizza which was very good. Waitress was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Overall great food and dining’s experience!
Absolutely amazing pizzas. Good wine list. Friendly staff.
My boyfriend and I were in Steamboat for vacation. Our dinner at Cugino’s was our last night there. The server was so great. Friendly and helpful. The focaccia bread he brought out before the meal was AMAZING!!! I’ll be dreaming of that bread for a long time. Our pastas were so tasty and well presented. We left with smiles and full bellies. I would recommend Cugino’s to anyone. If not for living in Florida I’d go there quite often.
It’s nice to have a consistently good Italian restaurant in Steamboat
The service was friendly, but they seemed overwhelmed and forgot a few items of our order. They were also out of servers food items including French fries.
The owner is so nice!
Great food and got us in at the last minute. Great restaurants!
Our family of six waited 90 minutes for our food. This is the second time we have had this experience at this restaurant. Many other tables were also waiting a very long time and complaining. Our server said the kitchen “had a hiccup and had to remake several dishes.” We will not be returning.
Was on vacation with the family and decided to try it. Overall it was just so so . I felt very claustrophobic in the restaurant I realized how many tables and chairs were crowded around. My son and I had the Calzone and was not special but also not bad. My wife had the Philly cheese steak sandwich which did not come with nor could you get Au Jus. How can an Italian restaurant serving that not have Au Jus? Overall just ok.
Quite honestly, the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. It was so bad the restaurant gave us a free meal. I can’t see us ever returning. It was a birthday celebration and the birthday girl had to leave before the food ever showed up because it had taken two hours and she needed to take her 14 month old home to go to bed.
Awful service! We had a reservation and arrived 5 minutes late because we couldn't find parking. We were seated immediately and next to the fireplace which was nice. That was the only thing that was nice that evening. Our waiter took a few minutes to come over and introduce himself and take our drink orders. We only wanted water.
Our waiter disappeared for 20 minutes as he was attending to another table, much larger group, drinking bottles of wines. Doesn't take a genius to understand why he "disappeared." He eventually takes our order, brings bread 5 minutes later and we wait for our food. We waited for over 45 minutes, and our waiter even walked by, saw the dirty dishes and empty cups but didn't bother to clear the plates or refill our cups. He actually gave a look that said, "Im not picking up anything right now and walked by us.
Another family sat 5 minutes after us, had a different waiter, and was eating in front of us as we waited for our food. They had appetizers, drinks and entrees as we waited and stared at each other. During all of this waiting, the stupid waiter came over to speak to us about our plans for the weekend to distract us from the fact that he simply forgot to put in our order.
My partner eventually speaks to the manager. The manager comes over 5 minutes later with the waiter and our food. In that moment, we decided to leave. We sat at a restaurant for over an hour, to eat bread and drink water. The manager didn't even apologize and let us walk out. He shouldn't be a manager nor does he act like one. He's unprofessional. Awful service. Whether we order drinks our not, we shouldn't be ignored and treated differently. Thanks for ruining our Valentine's Day dinner.
So many large parties is a draw back for this family of four but the food is yummy! Meatballs over polenta is my favorite!
It was AWESOME!!
Waited 30 minutes finally got a small glass of overpriced wine. Out of five dishes. 630 pm? Waitress was polite but poorly trained and over scheduled. Staff was robotic and downtrodden. We left (never done this in fifty years.) and went to Aurum across the street. Had a fabulous meal with outstanding service. Staff was happy and friendly. Day and night.
A bit noisy so I’d suggest not for a quiet occasion
The food here is amazing. We were 6 family members here to ski. A good hot comfort meal was on the agenda. The calamari are so lightly crusted and fried to perfection. I had the Eggplant Florentine which was full of flavor. The pizza was excellent, thin crispy crust with fresh ingredients. The atmosphere was quiet, cozy, welcoming with a great fire, albeit a little too warm. Service was excellent. Recommend a reservation but would definitely go back again and highly recommend!
Good food, friendly service, once seated we were treated very well. Only complaint is that it did take a while to get our seats even though we had a reservation.
The pizza crust was the best I have ever had. Crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. Had the Apricot ale and pizza for $9. Great deal!
As usual great food and service in a full restaurant. The owner, John took the time to say “Hi” and had a short conversation with us. We consider Cuginos as a “go to” restaurant for us.
Everything was great except someone took our reservation saying they were us, but the restaurant reacted quickly and sat us immediately. Wait staff was stressed out and a little slow but very friendly which made up for it
We had a very early reservation on a weekday we'd both missed lunch. The personal size pizza I had was more than filling, and my husband was unable to finish his stromboli. We also enjoyed happy hour drinks and lingered as we had the restaurant mostly to ourselves next to a crackling fire.
