Yes, just go here! You won’t regret it. I have been here plenty of times and always have outstanding service and outstanding food!
Loved the food, the waitstaff, and the vibe! Will definitely be back!
This review was based on a pre-fixe Mother’s Day lunch. Service was slow and they forgot to put in one of the orders. They were kind enough to comp the meal. I expected the food to be better.
My mother and I attended the restaurant's Mother's Day Brunch, which was very good! It was a three-course meal, and each course was excellent and flavorful!
Mother’s Day brunch
Everything was awesome. Mother’s Day brunch and the selections and the the quality was amazing. I’m not cheap and a big believer you get what you pay for. My only issue was $10 mimosas, for what looked like less than 6 ounces and $13 bloody Mary’s. And my kids non alcoholic drink that was the same price. So almost $70 for five drinks two of which had no booze. So my $49.00 per person brunch with some 3.5% fee and well worth it 25% tip brought my Mothers Day brunch for three to almost $400. 00. Just beware. It’s good but you won’t get out for less than well over $100 a head.
The menu for Mother's Day Brunch was spectacular. And each dish served to us was even better. This was one of the great brunch meals of all time.
Tried Cucina Urbana for Mothers Day brunch. Food was simply outstanding. We had a 3 course prix fixe menu so we tried 3 different items (picking the waiter's recommendations) for the first (strawberry/greek yogurt; blood orange muffin; and carrot raisin walnut bread) and second courses (onion bacon fritter; burrata/snow pea/asparagus; and ahi crudo) and shared. All were simply amazing. Main courses (prime rib; prosciutto benedict; and bucatini amatriciana) were just as good and desserts continued the consistency. This was probably one of the best brunches we've been to in a LONG time!!
Food was very good. Great prices on wine. Our server Chris did an excellent job. All of the staff were friendly and helpful.
Every time my husband and I travel to San Diego we have to have dinner at Cucina Urbana. It is the most amazing restaurant. The food is always really good, staff is amazing, overall really great place. Would highly recommend.
Very diverse and well crafted menu. Outstandingly well curated wine list w/o pretentiousness. Wait staff very attentive w/o doting. Very pleasant ding experience.
Amazing place!! The food is very special, fresh and delicious
Everything is amazing
Squash blossoms are amazing!!! Can never go wrong with a tasty pizza and some of the crispy brussel sprouts. Nice spot to go and eat
Lynn was amazing, helpful, and very friendly! The manager was around and very engaging with the tables.
Came here for my birthday and was very disappointed. Server was inattentive and the food was sub-par. Says a lot when the highlight of the meal is the bread...
For my entree, I ordered the bucatini and it was way over salted and lacked flavor. With over 4K reviews on Yelp, I think this place is way overhyped and I would not return here.
Amazing host Olivia !
It was great food and very nice cocktails. the server was fantastic.
The family size pasta was off the menu... but the regular size was really small compared to before pandemic. I get the not encourage to share but cutting down the size of single serving sort of sucks too. $25 for single serving pasta should fill you up not a 4 bite dish.
We have been clients well before the pandemic before the current chef.
We have enjoyed being outside when Urbana first reopened and had a wonderful meal.
Unfortunately they fell short on this occasion. Octopus appetizer was a bit chewy and very salty. Special carpaccio was great but hummus just so so.
Approximately an hour or so after our dinner we just couldn’t drink enough water .
Oh well. Maybe it will be better next time service was very good.
Really impressed with food quality. Service was fun and detailed. Overall atmosphere was great, we sat by entrance so felt a little excluded, but made for good people watching. Def be going again!
My favorite SD spot!! Their wine list is superb and the food is *chefs kiss*
Always amazing. As an SD local this is my favorite spot to dine and I ALWAYS bring my family and friends here when they are visiting from out of town! Great food and kind service.
This place never disappoints. great food and excellent service.
Food was great as usual, but it’s hard to justify the price when you’re eating on the sidewalk. Wanted to sit inside since we were celebrating our anniversary, but was told they could not accommodate that request. It was just an OK experience.
I like the food & all the server they're all nice.
Great date night for me and my wife!
Amazing chopped salad and burger!
The remodel looks great. Patio dining was awesome.
Avoid Duke’s in La Jolla. Overpriced food based on a view. Stay in San Diego.
Food was the bomb!!! Can’t wait to go back.
Excellent service and delicious food made for a wonderful dining experience with friends!
Excellent service. I wish I knew our servers name but the attention and recommendations were excellent. Definitely recommend and don’t skip dessert and bottle of wine. Definitely will be back.
The meal was good but definitely not as good as I remember when I went years ago. The salad had very little dressing and wasn't very impressive. Lettuce, a couple of tomatoes, some almonds, a few beans, and the portion wasn't very large. The meatball/polenta appetizer was good but not exceptional. The mushroom pizza was good but not exceptional.
Perhaps I've been spoiled by Point Loma Italian Restaurants, Cesarina, Old Venice and Pummaro have superior tasting dishes and food portions.
As always, Cuccina Urbana does not disappoint. We were very happy the restaurant reopened.
Incredible food and service! All of our meals were incredible. Would definitely recommend!
It bothered me that they added a 22% tip which you had to notice to decline. We would have paid about that much but don’t like being fooled into doing so.
Service was ok - long periods of time the server was MIA. Food used to be so good, maybe it was just an off night. Both pasta dishes lacked salt and seasoning. Wouldn’t be in a rush to go back.
Amazing as always! The drinks were fantastic and the service was top notch.
My only complaint was the temperature; I was freezing the entire time and we were sitting *inside!* I can’t imagine the poor tables outside.
We absolutely loved the restaurant. The food was top notch. Our server was amazing - he explained how the wine choosing works, explained the menu and was extremely attentive to our kids. We had a special occasion and it was treated just exactly the way we requested. Absolutely amazing place. Highly recommend.
I made a reservation here based off a friend’s recommendation and absolutely loved Cucina. The food was amazing, the wine was delicious, and the staff was absolutely wonderful. I’ll definitely be back whenever I’m in San Diego.
