Cucina Toscana Ratings and Reviews
What an experience. Thoroughly pleased with the dining experience offered from Cucina Toscana. The staff was attentive but not invasive. The food, oh the food. Gnocchi made fit for royalty. Flavors that just take over your palate with pure joy. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting authentic and delicious Italian food.
First visit November 29, looking for reasonable Italian [being an out of towner] and found it in Cucina Toscana. Staff were attentive without being over-powering, knowledgeable on both food and wines. Appetizers and Entrees were varied and served well presented, tasteful and hot! Have them down for another visit next trip through SLC.
This place is a gem. I reserved this location for 8 people who were all visiting SLC on business for a conference. This may have been some of the best Italian food we have had in a long time. Everyone was impressed by the quality of the food and the service! I really can't say enough to praise the great job Cucina Toscana did, and I really wish they had a location near me in Massachusetts so I could take my wife out for date night. We were served a decadent hot chocolate with biscotti after dinner, on the house, which was a great surprise. Since we enjoyed dinner so much, we had to try dessert and we shared this amongst the group...again, delicious.
One note, I think on Google or Yelp reviews they had 4 stars, this place is definitely 5 stars. Prices might be high for the area (just an assumption), but the experience is definitely worth every penny. Gratuity was included (20%) and the service was worth every %.
Had a terrific time at Cucina Toscana!
It seems like I've eaten my way through Salt Lake City these last few years since relocating here from the Midwest. For some reason, Cucina Toscana had never made my hit list until now. Boy, what a mistake that was. We are already planning our trip back!
We had family in town so I used my $100 gift card. We felt very taken care of. A little pricy to go often, but were pleasantly surprised by the fresh tomatoes on bread at the beginning and awesome bread basket. Was not a fan of dip, but could have asked for butter or basalmic. Also, we were pretty full to order dessert but was delighted by the mini cup of cocoa with cookie biscuit. It was a lovely dining experience. Thank you!
We went for a birthday... food was good, but portions are extremely small. The service was good, once it got going. It took a while for them to get moving. I was running late for my reservation... called 3x... no answer... they honored my reservation which I was grateful for them doing so.
Overall, it's lost a lot of it's feel since i went almost 10 yrs ago. I wouldn't go back.
I made a last minute decision to dine there on a Tuesday night. It wasn't busy so the staff wasn't too stressed. Still found it interesting that my waiter would disappear for stretches. The food was good but at the prices charged I thought it would be better.
The ambiance was very cool, the white tablecloths and the dark gray-colored walls were quite striking. Staff were very attentive, refilling water glasses without being asked, offering more bread without any hesitation––they were terrific!
The wine list was impressive, but the by-the-glass list was too short; I would have really liked to have had more options. We enjoyed the meat and cheese plate to start, very good flavors that complemented each other well. Next, I had a small Gnocchi and Ravioli plate. They were very delicious, tender and perfectly presented. For entrees we had the Chicken Piccata and my partner had the larger Gnocchi and Ravioli plate. The food was quite delicous, but unfortunately the portions were small for the price.
A lovely, hip restaurant and a good place to celebrate a special occasion.
The reviews on OpenTable were great so I decided to give it a try. I was disappointed. The prices were high for the quality of food. The ordering was difficult. We ordered cocktails before dinner and they didn't arrive until it was time for the main course. Very disappointed. I won't return.
This restaurant is top notch, and the best place I've been to Salt Lake. The service is excellent, which pairs well with a vast number of specials available. The menu is properly sized, comprising of dishes composed with careful attention to detail. I highly recommend the cheese sampling plate, which is composed of some of the best cheese I've had. Pair that with a proper wine from the vast wine list and you're in for a treat. Drinks do not disappoint, and the New York Sour I had was simple perfection. I highly recommend this for a upscale occasion.
Great dinner! For our foodie family, it was perfect. We have wine lovers, healthy eaters, and kids with developing pallets. They met all needs, graceful accommodating ages ranging from 3- >60). I would highly recommend (unless you're looking for chain restaurant food).
We went to the restaurant with the reservation and they were closed. No sign no nothing. I even received the confirmation earlier in the day for a reservation. Thankfully we found Valters Italian restaurant which was amazing. We've eaten at Cucina Toscana before and it was very good but unfortunately they were close.
First time at this restaurant. When we first enter it has a fancy feel, with tablecloth and furniture (casual dress code). Host was very friendly, as well as the waiter. Offer different specials as well as explaining the Italian menu (need to read the description). Capesante appetizer was great need extra great to dip and soak up the butter sauce. All our entrees were very good, would recommend thee Veal chop special and the lobster seafood in a similar cause as the capesante. Both mixed seafood special was also good. Definitely leave room for dessert. The custard, lava cake and the gelato are a must. Bottom line is the everything we had that night was all great. My kids wanted to lick the plate. Plan on going back soon..
My wife and I only go here for special occasions as the price is quite a bit more than your average dine-in restaurant. However, I have yet to get a bad dish. Each time I go I get one of the specials and have got something different almost each time I've been. I've been here about a dozen times and have seen the decor change twice. Service is usually very good but you never know. This last time it was a bit under par. I don't go for the service, I go for the food which is always meets or exceeds expectations. Pretty sure the menu was written by Valter Nassi who now owns and operates Valter's Oysteria. They have a very similar menu. I have been to Valter's several times and while the service and ambiance there is nicer it comes with a larger price tag and I feel the food is not as consistently amazing as Cucina Toscana's. I know this sounds funny but for high end dining value this place beats Valter's IMO.
Business dinner on a Tuesday evening. Good options, I really liked the smaller Italian appetizer portions you could get in advance of the very filling primary meal. Wine was a little "blah" on options, I would have expected more by the glass Italian wines (it is an Italian restaurant), but all in all everyone agreed it was a repeat for next time we are in Utah.
