The worst Italian food I have ever had! Restaurant was empty but they put us at a tiny table.
We were in Salt Lake for a family reunion. The staff was amazing! Loved our table (which I was asked about location). The food was spectacular!! A definite go to for fresh and fabulous Italian food in SLC.
Excellent service, the staff were all lovely. Very relaxing yet quietly buzzing atmosphere, good wine and a wide selection of specials. Food was delicious too.
Great service and excellent food. Wonderful restaurant and my favorite in SLC
Best food ever!
While the food was very good, I would not recommend Cucina Toscana as a place to take a dote or friends that you might want to have a conversation with. The restaurant could use some sound deadening as on can barely hear another person across the table. Also the table were very close together which didn't make sense as they had a whole section that was closed off and not being used. The portions were fine though the service was not exactly prompt.
I miss some of the old menu items like asparagus ravioli! Current road construction is an eyesore-no fault of the restaurant and temporary.
specials seem to be given the right amount of expertise. ex. cheese plate was interesting and tasty while the "rustic" pasta I had was bland and something I could easily cook at home.
Top notch service - bread needs work. Nice setting in an old auto showroom.
we had a great meal. This was our first time at Cucina Toscana but not our last! They brought an appetizer as complements of the chef in addition to the Beef carpaccio and the gnocchi and ravioli we ordered, all excellent. The wine list was extensive and reasonably priced. The meals were outstanding-- we had veal scallopine with lemon & capers, veal scallopine with oyster mushrooms and ravioli di quattro formaggi. Dessert was lemon and sea salt gelato and also tiramisu, both outstanding. In short, this was one of the best italian meals we've had, from the attentive, outstanding service to the reasonably priced, outstanding food. We will definitely be back!
Was fantastic! The cheese platter was incredible. I had the lasagna and my wife had risotto. Both were superb! Service couldn’t have been better
The food was excellent and the service was quite good, the atmosphere was lovely and we had a wonderful evening.
Excellent food and service. I had the chicken piccata with mushrooms and artichokes plus the tiramisu for desert that were all outstanding. I appreciated chef’s complimentary bruschetta appetizer and hot chocolate and biscotti dessert. A very enjoyable evening!! My only recommendation is not to have your servers identified as numbers. They are personable and should be addressed by name.
The food was delightful! Our server was available although I never got asked if I wanted freshly ground pepper for my asparagus soup and salt and pepper were not available on the table. Minor thing!
I didn’t quite understand the music selection and that is why I didn’t give them 5 stars. Music consisted of few Josh Groban songs which went from super quiet to super loud ( a malfunction?).
But if travel takes me to SLC I will definitely go back because the food was impressive!
We had an excellent meal. The pasta and veal were excellent , the service fine on a very busy evening with multiple large groups, and will certainly return for dinner when in the area.
Great service! Our server was very knowledgeable and helped us through the menu and offered suggestions. Bruschetta was decent. Mixed green salad was really great. Gnocchi and house made ravioli were both amazing. Hot chocolate was rich and decadent, but not too sweet. Ambiance was perfect for a romantic night out or a business meeting. Highly recommended!
The service was TERRIBLE.
I have never had worse service- it felt like they kept forgetting about us the whole night. We waited an hour for our gnocchi? and it was mediocre.
The staff made us feel right at home and the food was excellent! I will definitely be making a visit back!
Great food and our waitress was extremely accommodating. Will definitely go back soon.
Unfortunately we went to dinner on Valenties night and the restaurant was not at all prepared. After 3o minutes of eating for menu's we were finally able to order a bottle of wine. They did not have the wine we wanted and said they would get something comparable. So what they did was went and found a more expensive bottle. I figured that out at the time of paying the bill. They also set up extra tables since they wanted to get as many reservations as they could. So my wife and I sat at a table foe 6 people however there was only two of us. And we were sat next to the restroom so it was entertaining watching people coming and going from the restroom. Food was plain not all that great.
Their private parking lot is not there anymore .. parking was horrid but dining was amazing
Restaurant decided to let us know the day before they had a set menu for Valentine's day. I let them know I choose them because they didn't have one since we are on a strict diet. They let me know they can accommodate any dietary needs, yet when we were there nothing worked with what we eat and they would not accommodate our needs.... Not to mention the cost per plate was easily double their normal cost!
My son's family and I were very pleased with this restaurant. Great food and attentive service. The only negative was that we were seated by a big bank of windows and it was February. When we mentioned that we were cold, the staff immediately got a portable heater to place by the table. We will definitely go again, but we'll wait for the warmer weather.
Food quality has declined since Valter left. It used to be an authentic Italian experience, but they’ve turned the place into a “trying to be upscale” after actually being upscale. $30-40 for frozen gnocchi & undercooked ravioli (clearly not freshly made like it used to be) is ridiculous. Search for Valter’s new place, you won’t be disappointed there.
Both food and service were outstanding! We had lemon chicken piccata with mushrooms and artichoke hearts, tenderloin medallions in red wine reduction, and parmesan chicken -- and all were outstanding. Perfectly prepared and presented.
And our waiter brought complimentary bruschetta appetizers and tiny cups of chocolate latte, which started off and finished the meal perfectly. The red wine we chose was conservative in price but very good. We will return.
The food is delicious and the service is the best. They are attentive.
We hadn't been to this restaurant in years, and it has changed a great deal, all for the better. It's a very comprehensive menu, and everything was really delicious. Portions are large, and ingredients are very fresh and plentiful, justifying the prices. My friend had a special seafood dish with sea bass, shrimp, clams, and a small lobster tail. I had veal with oyster mushrooms in cream sauce. Both large and scrumptious. Also asparagus soup and eggplant parmesan appetizer were very good. Will certainly go back.
What an experience. Thoroughly pleased with the dining experience offered from Cucina Toscana. The staff was attentive but not invasive. The food, oh the food. Gnocchi made fit for royalty. Flavors that just take over your palate with pure joy. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting authentic and delicious Italian food.
Great food. Perfect pre-game nice meal.
Great food, nice atmosphere, Caesar salad table side so well done!
The Waiter was disengaged, providing less than desirable service
Asparagus soup was very bland
The Main entrees had good flavor and portions were adequate
Christmas Family Dinner
Food and service both outstanding!
Everything was excellent
First visit November 29, looking for reasonable Italian [being an out of towner] and found it in Cucina Toscana. Staff were attentive without being over-powering, knowledgeable on both food and wines. Appetizers and Entrees were varied and served well presented, tasteful and hot! Have them down for another visit next trip through SLC.
This place is a gem. I reserved this location for 8 people who were all visiting SLC on business for a conference. This may have been some of the best Italian food we have had in a long time. Everyone was impressed by the quality of the food and the service! I really can't say enough to praise the great job Cucina Toscana did, and I really wish they had a location near me in Massachusetts so I could take my wife out for date night. We were served a decadent hot chocolate with biscotti after dinner, on the house, which was a great surprise. Since we enjoyed dinner so much, we had to try dessert and we shared this amongst the group...again, delicious.
One note, I think on Google or Yelp reviews they had 4 stars, this place is definitely 5 stars. Prices might be high for the area (just an assumption), but the experience is definitely worth every penny. Gratuity was included (20%) and the service was worth every %.
Went there for my 21st birthday, that was some good steak. Finished the meal with a delicious cheesecake!
Everything was wonderful. The food, wine, and service was all impeccable.
It was ok. Service was great. Way to expensive for just OK.
Had a terrific time at Cucina Toscana!
It seems like I've eaten my way through Salt Lake City these last few years since relocating here from the Midwest. For some reason, Cucina Toscana had never made my hit list until now. Boy, what a mistake that was. We are already planning our trip back!
