We went for a Father’s Day dinner and Cucina Toscana is the best Italian food we’ve had in Utah. Great food, great vibe, and a great experience.
This is a “go to” restaurant. The service is first rate - Margarita is one of the best ANYWHERE. And the food is superb - truly excellent pasta, inspired seafood, and the Asparagus Soup is delicious! And… CANNOLI!
Service was excellent. Charcuterie plate needs more fruit.... halibut slightly overdone.
Service was not very good and waiters wait staff seemed confused. Food was average for price
Our waiter last night was very charming and attentive, thank you!
The food was incredible. It wasn't very busy, but we had to wait a while for our server. However, it was a perfect date night spot. We loved the charcuterie!
Luís was our server and honestly we had the best service I’ve ever had. He was so friendly and courteous and always had a smile. If I owned a restaurant he would be the first person I’d ask to work with, he is fantastic. The food was incredible as it always is and overall it was an amazing experience.
Love the restaurant and the service was great. They didn’t have any fish dishes as they were short staffed in the kitchen? (What the server said). The food was very good - my Marsala was a little salty. My son got the duck and it did not come with any vegetables or potato - just a plate of cut up duck in a sauce. All in all a good meal! Thank you!
Was actually disappointed with the quality of the food. Some things were very good and others not good at all. The soup was horrible. And bread not the best. Plates were good but very expensive. There are better options for Italian food in Utah.
Food was good but Waitress was not attentive. She did not come to table much to check if everything was ok. I wanted pepper for my salad, but she never returned. She also dropped our dinner off and left- husband really wanted salt. He finally got it when he was half way through his meal.
It was too hot, noisy, and very smoky. The portions were extremely small, 3 ravioli and 12 gnocchi for $28, really?!
Diners beware!! This restaurant uses what I consider to be unethical practices to increase the size of your check. In our case, our server asked us if we wanted to participate in their diners' "tour," which he described as a chef's-choice appetizer, a sampling of their most popular pastas, and then we each choose our entrée. So you might think that this is a sort of a prix fix model. Nope. It was NOT that. It was basically a way for them to lard up our bill to the tune of almost $200 for two people -- and we did not get alcohol. The chef chose to send us TWO appetizers, one of which was the most expensive on the menu. We were charged full price for both, even though we did not want both. The pasta dishes comprised tiny (approx two mouthfuls each) servings of gnocchi, angel hair, and one raviolo. They charged us $28 each for this. Then we were charged for our individual entrees. Did they lie and tell us the meal was prix fix? No, they didn't. Did they tell us they were giving us the second appetizer at no cost? No, they didn't. They never actually lied to us. But they definitely use what diners expect (like hospitality, value, and structures like prix fix) to trick their customers. Now, I'm not opposed to spending $200 on a special meal, but I want to know exactly what I'm spending and how much my ticket will cost. In this case, when compared to the food, experience, and ambiance, we felt completely ripped off and disappointed. Finally, I'll note that my husband and I both lived in Italy for an extended period of time. Cucina Toscana used to be one of the best Italian restaurants in town. That is no longer the case. SLC has some awesome Italian restaurants now. I would say spend your money elsewhere for a great meal and a price that feels honest.
The restaurant is lovely, the cocktails were great, the service is top notch, but the food was just average. My lasagna was mushy and over cooked. It didn’t have the usual layers of ricotta, sauce and meat. And there wasn’t a speck of basil in it or on it. My husband’s gnocchi wasn’t anything special and way too spicy and he loves spicy food. The gelatos are heavenly! The staff were awesome and provided excellent service. It’s worth another try because the restaurant has great ambiance.
Very good variety an not the normal American Italian rather good Italian...will go back whenever I have the opportunity. My wife loved it as well.
Awesome food and service!!
We never be dining at Cucina Toacana. Had a reservation later this month with our entire family but after our experience Saturday night we’ve gone ahead and cancelled our future reservation.
Bar doesn't make Bloody Mary's. Had Diet Coke, but not regular.
Lasagna does not have much meat inside & was soft, but overall good flavor.
The Veal Saltimbocca was the best I've ever had. For the first time, the prosciutto complemented the veal, & the veal was nice & tender.
The servicer was stop on....water glasses topped up without asking. The food was amazing, served correctly and - a big bonus - on hot plates. This was our second visit in less than ten days - I think that speaks for the excellence of this restaurant.
Not good food or service. Much better restaurants in the area
I enjoyed the experience overall, not nearly as great as I had been led to think by others, I would consider going back and giving it a go again but would certainly try other places first
The best is still the best!! Love this place. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Best Italian in Utah without a close second, and top five best restaurants of any category.
The meal was exceptional. We ate EVERY morsel, start to finish. Everything was so good!!!
Excellent food and service.
We were celebrating my father's birthday and the staff was so attentive and kind. The food and wine was delicious. I would definitely come here again!
What happened to this once amazing restaurant? I was so disappointed. I know Valter is no longer there and hasn't been for a while, but at least the food was still pretty good for a while. No longer. Overpriced for a mediocre meal, at best. Won't be back.
Food was delicious. The ambiance was great. We loved it.
We had friends in town and wanted to take them to a great local restaurant. The food was good and our server was great. They were short handed so it took awhile to get our food. We would give the restaurant another chance.
Horribly overpriced and terrible quality food. Service was mediocre at best.
Very nice restaurant but not worth price. Probably of going again is very slim
Food was as phenomenal as we remembered and are happy we returned while we were in town visiting. This was a favorite when we lived here and glad we could enjoy it again.
Slowest service I’ve ever experienced at a fine dining restaurant. Took over half an hour to get our drinks on the table and the rest of the meal was the same story
Very good dining experience with out of town relatives....Thanks for a great night.
The appetizer arrived before the wine. The manager that gave the wine service opened the bottle, set it on the table, and walked away without offering a taste or even pouring our glasses. We promptly asked for the check.
Very good Italian restaurant. The food was fantastic and so was the service. I would highly recommend!
Very nice place to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. They made it a very nice experience. Food was fantastic, and the ambience was quiet which helped the romantic occasion. It was a very nice evening. The price is right for the food quality, the service and environment.
Great place all the way around.
They gave us a table far away from natural light, it was a dark area, It was too dark to the point that my friend makeup and her evening gown did not look good, the lighting made her wrinkles more noticeable. So if you are on a date and want to look your best ask for a table close to the windows, beside that we had a great time and the service was outstanding.
Carbonara meat is too fatty. Otherwise the wait staff we were a little slow but food was great!
La comida regular, la atención buena pero el lugar y su ambiente no acompañan. No fue una buena experiencia, teníamos otras expectativas, una pena
The burrata was fabulous, the tomato was warm and made the appetizer one of the best I have had. I had veal Milanese and my wife had veal al limone and both were great.
