Cucina Toscana
Valentines dinner ended up costing us $250 (just the two of us) and the food was very unremarkable. Way over priced for what you get and the food came out cold. We were limited to choose between two Valentine 4 course meals. The salad was good. The pasta was plated sloppy and cold, the main entree was not great and the cheesecake was tasteless and the texture felt stale. The service was awesome but the food was NOT!
We were a little early. So it took a little time to “fit in”. Would have liked a little better welcome. Such as, might we offer something from the bar....
My first choice if I see it on any menu is duck. The duck breast here was one of the best duck dishes I ever had. Melted in your mouth.
Visited on a Friday night. Ambiance was very nice, food was good but not outstanding, and the service was friendly and attentive. Get the traditional Caesar salad. Yes, there is a raw egg yolk and anchovies! ! Will be back to try other menu items.
food very good.
service better than average.
Friendly staff.
Too much noise reverberation.
Prices too high for the situation.
We were traveling with another couple from Vermont to Deer Valley. We had one night in Salt Lake City and this restaurant was recommended by a fellow Vermonter as “the best Italian food he had ever tasted” so we had to go. Everything was delicious and the service was fabulous. Would highly highly recommend.
A nicely set restaurant. Incredibly overpriced. That being said it was very good taste wise. The service was also very slow. The waiter was very nice, but forgot several things, and seemed to disappear for long periods of time. I wouldn’t really recommend this place simply for the price point.
It was expensive with terrible food. The chefs threw exotic ingredients together and called it a meal, but they didnt even take the time to see if the ingredients went together. The waiters were being sorely overworked. I was sat next to a gas line with easy access to the lever. It wasnt secured or anything, if i had wanted i could have easily turned off the gas to the entire restaurant. It was so loud that i had to shout to be heard by the person across the table from me. Honestly i would have been better off staying at home and eating a can of spagettios, it would have tasted better than what they threw on the plates. The waiters did work very hard to take care of us, and the place was pretty and the food was artistically placed on the plates. But those things dont make up for terrible, overpriced food.
Great food! Great menu. Wonderful staff. Difficult parking.
Very good but cold by the windows...
(why require 50 characters?)
Great food, outstanding service, friendly staff, extensive wine collection, and luxurious feel. Be prepared to spend $100+ a person.
Way overpriced for the portions, it was a set NY's Eve menu. We both had the veal which was tough. Salad very small. Ravioli (apparently their own) was good.
The service was good. The food wasn't very good, especially considering the price. Go somewhere else to dine.
OK food, inexperienced and unprofessional staff, high prices that was not justified by our experience. I also felt that staff was not very friendly with us, probably we were not white Americans that is why.
Would not go there again, there are bunch of other nice places in downtown with excellent food and service for the same price.
Absolutely fantastic. Delicious food, great cocktails.
Great service and great food. It was pricey but I loved it.
Group dinner while I town for an event. Wonderful!
The worst Italian food I have ever had! Restaurant was empty but they put us at a tiny table.
We were in Salt Lake for a family reunion. The staff was amazing! Loved our table (which I was asked about location). The food was spectacular!! A definite go to for fresh and fabulous Italian food in SLC.
Excellent service, the staff were all lovely. Very relaxing yet quietly buzzing atmosphere, good wine and a wide selection of specials. Food was delicious too.
Great service and excellent food. Wonderful restaurant and my favorite in SLC
Best food ever!
While the food was very good, I would not recommend Cucina Toscana as a place to take a dote or friends that you might want to have a conversation with. The restaurant could use some sound deadening as on can barely hear another person across the table. Also the table were very close together which didn't make sense as they had a whole section that was closed off and not being used. The portions were fine though the service was not exactly prompt.
I miss some of the old menu items like asparagus ravioli! Current road construction is an eyesore-no fault of the restaurant and temporary.
specials seem to be given the right amount of expertise. ex. cheese plate was interesting and tasty while the "rustic" pasta I had was bland and something I could easily cook at home.
Top notch service - bread needs work. Nice setting in an old auto showroom.
we had a great meal. This was our first time at Cucina Toscana but not our last! They brought an appetizer as complements of the chef in addition to the Beef carpaccio and the gnocchi and ravioli we ordered, all excellent. The wine list was extensive and reasonably priced. The meals were outstanding-- we had veal scallopine with lemon & capers, veal scallopine with oyster mushrooms and ravioli di quattro formaggi. Dessert was lemon and sea salt gelato and also tiramisu, both outstanding. In short, this was one of the best italian meals we've had, from the attentive, outstanding service to the reasonably priced, outstanding food. We will definitely be back!
Was fantastic! The cheese platter was incredible. I had the lasagna and my wife had risotto. Both were superb! Service couldn’t have been better
The food was excellent and the service was quite good, the atmosphere was lovely and we had a wonderful evening.
Excellent food and service. I had the chicken piccata with mushrooms and artichokes plus the tiramisu for desert that were all outstanding. I appreciated chef’s complimentary bruschetta appetizer and hot chocolate and biscotti dessert. A very enjoyable evening!! My only recommendation is not to have your servers identified as numbers. They are personable and should be addressed by name.
The food was delightful! Our server was available although I never got asked if I wanted freshly ground pepper for my asparagus soup and salt and pepper were not available on the table. Minor thing!
I didn’t quite understand the music selection and that is why I didn’t give them 5 stars. Music consisted of few Josh Groban songs which went from super quiet to super loud ( a malfunction?).
But if travel takes me to SLC I will definitely go back because the food was impressive!
We had an excellent meal. The pasta and veal were excellent , the service fine on a very busy evening with multiple large groups, and will certainly return for dinner when in the area.
Great service! Our server was very knowledgeable and helped us through the menu and offered suggestions. Bruschetta was decent. Mixed green salad was really great. Gnocchi and house made ravioli were both amazing. Hot chocolate was rich and decadent, but not too sweet. Ambiance was perfect for a romantic night out or a business meeting. Highly recommended!
The service was TERRIBLE.
I have never had worse service- it felt like they kept forgetting about us the whole night. We waited an hour for our gnocchi? and it was mediocre.
The staff made us feel right at home and the food was excellent! I will definitely be making a visit back!
Great food and our waitress was extremely accommodating. Will definitely go back soon.
Unfortunately we went to dinner on Valenties night and the restaurant was not at all prepared. After 3o minutes of eating for menu's we were finally able to order a bottle of wine. They did not have the wine we wanted and said they would get something comparable. So what they did was went and found a more expensive bottle. I figured that out at the time of paying the bill. They also set up extra tables since they wanted to get as many reservations as they could. So my wife and I sat at a table foe 6 people however there was only two of us. And we were sat next to the restroom so it was entertaining watching people coming and going from the restroom. Food was plain not all that great.
Their private parking lot is not there anymore .. parking was horrid but dining was amazing
Restaurant decided to let us know the day before they had a set menu for Valentine's day. I let them know I choose them because they didn't have one since we are on a strict diet. They let me know they can accommodate any dietary needs, yet when we were there nothing worked with what we eat and they would not accommodate our needs.... Not to mention the cost per plate was easily double their normal cost!
My son's family and I were very pleased with this restaurant. Great food and attentive service. The only negative was that we were seated by a big bank of windows and it was February. When we mentioned that we were cold, the staff immediately got a portable heater to place by the table. We will definitely go again, but we'll wait for the warmer weather.
