We had a nice evening celebrating our anniversary at Cucina Toscano. The food and service were excellent and because we went not long after opening the background noise was minimal and the ambiance more cozy. We recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys well prepared And well presented Italian style food.
Amazing. Memorable. Delicious. Let's do it again soon.
Elevated traditional Italian cuisine with fresh ingredients. The chicken parmigiana special was refined and as good any I’ve had. The beet salad was well composed. Friendly and attentive service. The diners were well spaced. All staff wore masks and gloves. It was as pleasurable a meal and as safe feeling as you could hope for and we were happy to be there.
This must be tempered in that the restaurant just opened up about 10 days ago.
I have dined at Cucina many times and this was the first time the food was not top notch. We had an appetizer that was to have lobster in and it did. When questioned they guaranteed that I’d did. There was no evidence of lobster at all, plenty of crab just no lobster.
For dessert we tried the cheesecake and it was horrible. It was more like an egg custard pie that was dense. This was not cheesecake. They did comp the dessert so cud’s for owning up.
Spontaneous booking, looked for a restaurant recommended on Open Table app close by hotel.
In Salt Lake City to see Toronto Raptors vs Utah Jazz on Monday..
Excellent restaurant, service was top notch thanks to our server Valerie and attentive support staff!!
Food recommendations and wine selection was very well received and enjoyed!!
Girls night out with my beautiful daughters!
Pleasant atmosphere for a great meal. Excellent wine choices.
Excellent experience! Good and service were great!
Our server happened to be a sommelier as well which made the dinner more interesting… The food was great and the service was impeccable.
Food was good. Service was good though a bit pushy trying to up sale us.
Fish was excellent. Caesar salad, very good. The Carbonara was mediocre. We did enjoy our overall experience.
So. So. So. Good.
I have dined at Toscana 100 times. My favorite in Salt Lake City.
Great service, great atmosphere, however the food was average for the cost. Certainly won’t return here.
Excellent Italian food with an outstanding wine list. The service was impeccable and we can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu
Had a great time at Cucina Toscana Friday night. Service was fantastic. Our server was Flo and she was amazing!!!
This was at the request of my 17 year old for her Birthday! She is already a true foodie and knows good food. Our Waitress Margarita and the staff always take great care of us from start to finish. The food, drinks and dessert was on point as always.
Not worth the price. Service was slow, the food very mediocre for the incredibly high prices for SLC, and it wasn't very Tuscan - too many "Italy's Greatest Hits" on the menu, with flavorless beefsteak tomatoes in February.
The service was great but the food is not worth the price. The restaurant was very loud.
Very professional and tentative to us
We usually love the food and service but this night was different. Overpriced set menu only included lamb or veal as an option. We asked for a chicken, fish or vegetarian option and it was a flat no. The table side Caesar salad seemed to be made in advance and smaller on small plates. Same with the pasta course and they did not offer cheese or pepper while serving. That is why the service was lacking and the food/menu was terrible for someone that doesn’t eat red meat.
Wonderful food and drink options. The service was fantastic.
Terrific in every way
Miranda Lambert concert which was canceled
The food was good but FLO our server was the Best... she was entertaining and great with information about SLC and the food etc... She is a jewel!!!
This was a favorite restaurant of mine from past trips to SLC.
The restaurant has expanded a LOT since I was last there.... and it was really very quiet.
Hopefully that was just because it was MLK Monday and not for any other reason.
The food was as good as I remembered. So I will be back.
Always a wonderful experience. Attentive server and outstanding meal.
GO WITH FLO
We had an excellent meal and wonderful service. For a Saturday night, it wasn’t as busy as I would have expected, given the amazing food and friendly service. FLO, our server was such a pleasure. All in all, a 5-star experience.
A most excellent final night in Salt Lake City
Food was very good, although a little over-priced for portion sizes. Waiter was rather aloof and seemed like he was very distracted, even though the restaurant was not busy; sommelier only made one stop by our table to explain first wine on the first course pairing, then never came back for the next two courses' pairings. Restaurant website did not have info about prix fixe special menu for New Year's Eve, which was annoying to show up and find that the menu offerings would be limited. I would still go back and give it another try, since the food was good, and I would like to try some other options off their typical menu. Also, they really should have vegan and gluten-free options on their menu, even for a prix fixe menu event.
This would have been a poor value at half the price. We were surprised to find a limited menu for NYE...no indication of that when we booked. But, despite the higher than anticipated price tag, we allowed that prix fixes can be fun if the chef elevates the cuisine. But the choices were uninspired (Caesar salad or caprese? Woohoo!) and poorly executed. Service was poor. Our vegetarian diner was offered some terrible watery risotto as the only entree choice. At the very end of the meal, the manager made an effort to right the sinking ship, which was appreciated, but it was too late to save our evening . All in all, a very disappointing experience. Should have bailed as soon as we saw the limited menu with high prices.
We were very happy with our experience here. We booked through Open Table who did not list that it was a preselected menu for New Years Eve.
This is a hard review to give, because it was New Years Eve. The menu ended up being a set menu, which we did not expect. We made the reservation on-line and it didn't indicate that, and apparently it was known to them when we came to check in. The hostess asked us before we were seated if we were aware it was a set menu and if we made the reservation on-line, which we had. We didn't want a set menu and that is why we went here. But what do you do at that point on New Years eve? The food was alright. My dinner was warm and not hot. The green beans were not cooked. My husband had a different meal, and his was also warm not hot. However, the flavor of the food was good. At this time they were not yet busy, it was early.
The service was dutifully done with minimal effort, without anything extra or personality. I wouldn't say he was friendly, nor did he bother to continue to pour our bottle of expensive wine after the first pour. Again they were not busy at all. The rest of the staff was attentive, ie water, etc. The service staff have no name tags only numbers on them. Which really makes it impersonal, and I understand it has a reason for the numeric tags but a name tag can also be added and makes it feel different. I Like to thank people by their name, and not a number. Perhaps an idea to be considered. Would we go back, likely not sad to say.
Our experience overall was disappointing and no where near the previous amazing dining meals at Cucina Toscana!
There were a couple of private parties at both ends of the restaurant, so our servers seems inattentive and pulled in many different directions. From the few minutes wait after we were seated, until we departed we asked for water three times, somebody to clear our salad plates, and somebody to find our main server #168. Never caught her name.
Our Antipasto dish of Caprese Salad with Prosciutto was had tasty mozzarella, but the the unripe tomatoes ruined it.
The Cesar's salad was wilted and was not prepared table side as stated on the menu, but came out plated.
My Lasagne were delicious and the best part of the meal, though the Spaghetti Carbonara for my wife lacked the flavor of true Parmiggiano Reggiano.
After the entrees were served, we didn't see our server, EVER, until we asked for her after 30 plus minutes.
We inquired as to her whereabouts and she said, quite apologetically that "she was busy with bigger parties!" That was an overall sense of our evening out.

A great spot for a special night out. Food and service both top drawer!
Excellent and knowledgeable waiter who walked us through the various meats and cheeses on the charcuterie and cheese plates.
Horrible service. Server did not know beverages or food menu. After we ordered she forgot stuff.
Sever did not even check back with us.
I had a company function scheduled in March but will cancel it.
Servers name was Flo.
Everybody cleaned their plate! It was excellent. Complimentary hot cocoa at the end was the best I have ever had.
Service was wonderful. Food was outstanding. My wife and I had a lovely experience. Both fun and professional. We felt like family. Thank you for a great experience.
My friend and I found this restaurant when we were in town for Rootstech in February and thought it was excellent! I took my husband there the next week and we just went back this weekend when we were in town again. Every time it has been absolutely delicious! I highly recommend! Service and food is topnotch!
Everyone was extremely welcoming and helpful. Our server Valerie‘s suggestions were spot on. We will go back again and again.
