Enjoy a taste of our widening variety of red and white wines- ranging from a crisp & floral Sauvignon Blanc to pair with our locally caught Basil Salmon dish, or even a bottle of Alauda Toscana to accompany our infamous Osso Buco
The ambiance, decor it warm and inviting.
It is a delightful mix of age groups enjoying dinner. It's cool
We were 4 guests. All were very happy with their orders. I loved the ciopino. Service was very good. Highly recommended.
We arrived with 4 guests and were seated downstairs. The service (Kayla) was outstanding. Two of us had the linguini and clams as entrees. Large dish, loaded with small clams. Simple seafood sauce - garlic, oil and white wine. Outstanding. They might want to try offering spaghettini instead of the linguini. The clams on top literally covered the pasta which was cooked perfectly al dente. One of us had the spaghetti and meatballs - was enough to serve the whole table. Recommend the smaller serving. I had the eggplant rolitini - outstanding. A very enjoyable dinner.
We had the most amazing Valentines Day (and Anniversary) dinner! The room was beautiful, with tables well spread out-allowing us to have a peaceful, private celebration. The staff was extremely polite and helpful and both of our meals were beautifully presented and amazingly tasty! The cost was very reasonable for 3 course meals and several glasses of very nice wine. We couldn't have asked for anything better c
We went to Cucina South for an early Valentines Dinner because we waited too long to make a reservation for Valentines. From the moment we walked in the door until we left we both felt very special. Our meals were delicious. My husband took advantage of the special Pasta Night menu and enjoyed the Chicken Alfredo. I had my favorite, Basil Salmon and it did not disappoint. The portions are large, and I did take home half my meal to enjoy the next day. We highly recommend this quaint restaurant tucked away in the Palmetto Walk Shopping Village on the South End of Amelia Island.
We had a nice if unremarkable meal. Service was attentive and prompt. Pizza was good, angel hair pasta with tomato and basil was okay. I wanted to like this place more. We’re not into loud restaurants by any means but this place seemed nearly dead from an energy standpoint, even though most tables were full. Not sure what’s missing here..........
This place is fantastic. We’ve been twice in two weeks! Succulent mussels and clams. Tender osso buco, shrimp and grits to die for, and I could go on. The service is awesome and they go out of their way to make you happy. The menu is flexible, want pasta instead of grits, no problem. Can you bring a tiny bowl of mussels for my son in law to try? Shoot, yes. We just love this place. Casual, beautiful place. We look forward to many more nights of great meals and great fun at Cucina South.
The ambience had a nice, inviting, Italian vibe. The food was fantastic! We loved everything! We split several items and everything was delicious! The Parma pizza with the figs was So flavorful and the lemon shrimp appetizer with cannelloni beans (can’t remember what it was called but it started with a “G” was fantastic! We will be back if we come visit the area again sometime.
Love the extensive Gluten free menu
Great food and great service. Authentic Italian on the beach side of Fernandina.
We enjoy Cucina South each time we visit them for dinner. This weekend was no exception: great food and excellent service. The Osso Bucco is served over polenta and is delicious. Each time we have tried a "special," as my husband did this trip, the meal has been delicious. Our dinner companions, who have been with us at Cucina before, gave much the same salute to this very good south-end restaurant.
Cucina is a great find on so many levels. The food is always good as is the service. This last time they had everything ready and were aware that we had to leave by a certain time to make a ticketed event. The service was even better than usual.
This is an excellent restaurant well worth a visit. Reservations should be made.
Our server, Terry was amazing! The whole team was so on point! It was a nice way to end our trip and to celebrate our anniversary.
Great food and atmosphere with exceptional service.
We visited to enjoy the Restaurant Week menu. We were seated immediately when we arrived for our reservation. Daniel introduced himself and went over specials, providing wine recommendations. The special menu had lots of great options and everyone made their selections. The crab stuffed flounder and chicken carbonara were terrific and very large portions. Our desserts rounded out a terrific dinner. Complements to Daniel and chef Brett for their efforts to make Restaurant Week special!
Main course of veal and the chocolate mousse desert were not very good. Appetizers and wine were good and service was good.
The food was very good and they spaced out the courses just right!
We went to Restaurant Week and were seated at a lovely table upstairs. The meal and service were outstanding!
Excellent service and food, as always! Shrimp and grits my husband had was one of the best he has had anywhere! I had the crab stuffed flounder. Delicious!! There were no gluten free entree choices for my husband on the restaurant week menu, which was disappointing. So, it was so nice that they gave him the chocolate mousse dessert at no charge. Very much appreciated!!
Great food and service. It was Restaurant Week and the options provided were amazing. Everything was well prepared and delicious.
Eight of us got together for an evening out. Some of our group participated in the restaurant week menu while others ordered off the regular menu. There was not a dish that disappointed. Jackie was our server and did an excellent job. Wines were very reasonable either by the glass or the bottle. We will definitely be dining there again.
Restaurant week participants, the outsanding service was only surpassed by the quality of the food... Will definitely return.
We dined here during a getaway night at the Omni. We enjoyed our meal except for the bruschetta. It was served as a bowl of diced tomatoes with a few leaves of basil cut up inside, surrounded by toast points that where cold and tough. The rest of our meal was excellent. They serve huge portions. I highly recommend the cioppino. We will definitely give it another try.
Food was good, service good, sat at bar a little breezy as front door doesn't always close
Bartender a female was very attentive .
We just moved to FL the past 2 weeks . We drove to Amelia island to see the area & whileopki g for a place for dinner realized it was restaurant week . We didn’t have any recommendations for Cucina South but really liked the versatile menu . The dinner , atmosphere & overall experience was wonderful . Our waitress marissa was great . Will definitely visit again
Totally awesome! Great service. Katy and Tanner were the best! Stuffed shells were amazing. Veal Marsala with paparadelle(spelling?) was sooo good. Some Russian River Pinot Noir and chocolate mousse. Espresso and champagne. Best birthday dinner in years! Thank you!
Restaurant week! There were 4 entree choices so puente if options for the group of us. All of us we’re pleasantly pleased with the entire evening. Food was exallent!
We went to Cucina south for restaurant week on Amelia island. The menu choices were amazing and everything we had was wonderful. Top quality food and menu. We will definitely be going back.
Wonderful staff. Cudos for making our experience wonderful
Very disappointed. Very small and food was just fair. We've tried to get in for 3 years but now wonder why. Won't be back.
We have eaten at Cucina South many times and have never been disappointed. The dining room is comfortable, prefer upstairs. The waiters and everyone are very friendly but professional, also. We have our favorite meals and the quality is very consistent. This visit tried the two specials and they were fantastic! One was a skirt steak and then a tile fish dinner. They were both delicious, fresh ingredients and the sauces very good. It is one of our top favorites on Amelia Island.
The restaurant is small, hence quieter than a lot of local places. The menu was nicely varied and the prices reasonable. The tapenade and bread was outstanding. Wines paired with meals was a nice touch.
Fabulous service, great menu options, and appreciated they were able to offer a vegetarian option not on the menu, bonus! We also tried the nightly wine special $30 for the bottle! Will definitely return.
Salmon and Chicken dishes were excellent. Mussels were small but tasty. Half Antipasto was very large; took half home. A little noisy for one with difficulty hearing. Service was excellent by Kayla. All in all, very enjoyable.
Our food was delicious. However, they were out of the Grouper special by 7pm.
We went when it opened, so noise level was low. Wait staff was great. Chef made an unexpected pre-meal dish that was exquisite (butternut squash ravioli with Brussels sprouts). The chef added some pork to the dish for the non-vegetarian at the table. (I have been three times and have always enjoyed my meals.)
We had never tried this restaurant but when we saw that on Wednesday they had a $30 pasta dinner we said we would try it. We asked for a quiet table. When we were seated, it was upstairs and no one was there but us. However, two other coupes came up, and the couple two tables away had two small children. The parents started talking and the children, about three to four years old started wandering around, and making loud noises . Their parents showed no restraint, and instead ignored their very loud talking, screams, making strange noises. In the meanwhile, the server and the manager were serving the other tables their food and paid no attention to it. Toward the end of our meal, the kids got really loud and I talked to the manager. Why didn't they reseat us when they heard the loud noise? Why did they not ask the parents to quiet their kids out of courtesy to others? They had no answer.
Plus, the food was just okay, not great. We will never return. If we wanted to have dinner in a kindergarten room where there is a free-for - all, and the teacher is absent, we would have done so.
Cucina South needs an Italian chef. The restaurant misses the mark and the opportunity to do big business in Amelia Island. Go to Italy, find a chef and bring him to America! Need interesting nuevo Italian dishes on par with restaurants you would find in similar areas with the kind of concentration of wealth. Also, the wine list needs a redo. My husband and I chose a Barola for $90 and it was one of the worst we have ever had. But, while it leaves a lot to be desired, the only Italian game on the south end.
Very disappointing visit. We used to go to Cucina frequently - but food quality and experience has really declined. Not recommended!
Tucked away in a cute shopping center. The staff was very pleasant. Everything on the menu sounded delicious. My husband 's shrimp fry diavolo was excellent; my osso buco was good but not great. Not much atmosphere, but overall pleasant.
