   Cucina... is the most consistent fine dining establishment in Salt Lake. We love how the kitchen adds and changes a few of the menu items once in a while, while also keeping the favorite items on the menu... and the team always delivers impeccably prepared, divine tasting dishes. (Several gluten free and vegetarian options!) The waitstaff is incredibly friendly and on top of things, providing charming and spot-on service. Finally, Cucina has an outstanding wine list... what's not to love? We most highly recommended Cucina, for dinner with friends, date night out, or for a relaxing evening on the patio in the summer. If you haven't been... make a reservation!

   Found via Opentable, it was truly a pleasure to see that this restaurant loves to serve guests. Between the friendly welcome and the equally friendly farewell, everything that happened was nothing but excellent. The selection of the uncluttered menu, the recommendations of the friendly wait staff, the truly delicious food itself, and the overall presentation of the food. In addition, all this happened at an absolutely normal price structure. The Cucina will now be visited on each of my next visits to Salt Lake City.

   We always look forward to going to Cucina. The menu has shrunk, necessarily in these post (?) pandemic days with uncertain supply chains, but the creativity has not shrunk in tandem. Interesting choices for small or large plates, all well executed and well served. Only sorry that our congenial host and owner, Dean, was not present to take a look at the quirky Carbono wine that we brought to show him and drink with our dinner. Also like the wine flight a lot, which give a couple the opportunity to try six different wines by trying two different flights of three, two ounce pours. We'll be back.

   Food was not a good as previous visits and wine selection was far more expensive. Most wine selections $75 to $85, with least expensive $55 for a very pedestrian New Zealand bottle. Always enjoyed this restaurant, but the cost of wine makes it too expensive for the quality of the food. Hate to loose what had been a favorite.

   Food was outstanding! Our server Gentry was great and offered great suggestions for wine pairing with meals. She was very attentive and just the right amount of making sure we were taken care of and not being intrusive. It is a little loud inside, but it was a comfortable place for a nice meal.

    Nice and busy for a Thursday evening, creates a nice ambience Food is always really good, but the pasta tonight was exceptional, may well go back again this weekend and have it again. Joey is a master in the kitchen and Dean has assembled one of the best wine lists in the City.

    We ordered the chicken confit and oregano fettuccine. OVERALL We had an excelling dining experience at Cucina. Our dishes felt very French and Italian but were highlighted with flares of American creativity. The ambiance was warm, welcoming, and intimate. The food presentation and flavor make me excited to return to try other menu items. PRESENTATION: Both dishes were immediately pleasing to the eye. The oregano fettuccine pasta was colored a brilliant green topped on a creamy green sauce. The dish was accented by orange kabocha squash, deeper green arugula, and sprinkled bread crumb. The chicken confit was a mono-chromatic dish with the baby broccoli standing out as the main color differentiator. The Frenched chicken leg was a delightful surprise showing evidence of the refined techniques used by the chefs. I liked the crème fraiche dotted within the beurre rouge sauce as well. THE TASTE: The fettuccini was well cooked, slightly al dente. The sauce was not overpowering and had a subtle bitter flavor. The squash and bread crumbs added to the texture of the dish making each bite interesting. The dish has a very pleasant smoky undertone from the smoked cheddar cheese which wasn’t visibly on the plate. The chicken confit fell off the bone as expected. The flavor of the chicken was rich. A strong umami came from the porcini risotto and beurre rouge while the crème fraiche offered a palate lift. The dish took on a hint of Thanksgiving with a small side of pear and cherry mostarda. The heaviness of this dish was elevated by this hit of citrus, I probably could have used more mostarda. The star of this dish was in fact its side of baby broccoli. The broccoli looked ordinary as it lay on the plate, but as soon as it hit my mouth I was filled with a burst of lively flavors. Salty, spicy, and umami. As I contemplated, I realized this was the best broccoli I’d ever eaten. I’m afraid to say, it took over as the best item on any of the dishes tonight!

    Wines by the glass excellent variety; crab cakes terrific; a salad with gingerbread croutons! The entire crew totally professional, yet cordial, and very well informed on both the wines and the unique menu. Congratulations to Dean Pierose for taking the next step in a location he has had for so many years!

    Valentine’s day ; I made reservations through open table for 7:30 pm. Arrived at 7:27 pm and showed the girl checking reservations my phone with my information. The place was full, and two couples ahead of us. Around 7:40 one of the couples ahead of us got seated, by that time there were around 7 couples waiting at the door. The other couple ahead of us got seated shortly after. After 30 mins waiting some tables began to clear and I thought it will be a matter of 5 mins. My fiancée communicated with the woman taking reservations we had been waiting for more than 30 mins she said we will be next … what actually happened next is the reason I am taking my time to write this review for you the reader ….. 4 couples were seated ahead of us even though … these couples had arrived after us. If courtesy of … first come first served … is not followed in a restaurant what for is opentable good for ? Almost AN HOUR of waiting ( no exageration ), I stopped the seating lady and told her that our reservation was at 7:30 pm and that we will complain with the owner if we didn’t get seated. She proceeded to take other couple from the maybe 7-8 couples waiting at the door. We left … and had a great dinner at home ❤️. Cuccina …. no more …

    Okay - food was mediocre. Arrived at 7.55pm for an 8pm reservation. Small entryway was packed with people. Said we had to wait for a table. Seated around 8.15pm Service was quite fast. Probably wouldn’t return…

    I love this place. I’m often pleasantly surprised by the mix of flavors in the food. It’s fun to come back to since the menu frequently changes. Was a little disappointed by the last dish I tried, but that was an anomaly. It’s such a gem, tucked away in The Avenues.

    An exceptional restaurant for fine dining. Properly lit, white table clothes, and very classy service. For the quality I feel the restaurant is very fairly priced. Taken both friends and customers here and look forward to returning.

    Food was ok; dishes were over contrived which seems to be the norm these days. Too many conflicting flavors and textures. Servers were abrupt and a little overbearing. Carrying three wine glasses full of wine almost spilled on guests and did not know who ordered what. Server was very impatient regarding getting our desert orders and it came across. Not a pleasant dining experience.

    The food was bland and entirely unseasoned (like not even the pasta water). Service was incredibly bad- wrong drinks, long delay for mains bc server forgot to put in order, then wrong mains.
