Cucina is my family's favorite place to eat and gather in Salt Lake City. The food is wonderful and the service is warm and friendly.....and always responsive.
the best service. great ambience. food is 4 because we are spoiled from NY and have expectations that are probably too high but overall pretty good! I just wish they would indicate on the menu when dishes are spicy.
This restaurant has to be one of Salt Lake's best kept secrets. Everything we had tasted amazing and was incredibly unique. Fried avocado paired with a curry sauce, endives with hollandaise sauce and dates, handmade pasta with butternut squash sauce and mushrooms, and a chocolate lava cake with a spicy note.
Our server was very attentive and let us stay past closing time. The owner came by a few times and made a great wine recommendation--he was extremely knowledgeable and it sounded like he knew a lot of the wineries personally. Without a doubt would come back again and recommend to anyone who enjoys a good meal!
Once again Cucina delivers. Food was excellent. We had tuna, pasta, crab cakes and flat bread. It was all yummy. And to top it off port in a miniature chocolate cup. Took some friends and they said it will be come their new favorite spot.
The services was terrific. Love the staff.
We had 12 people for our Dine Around Group that meets once a month.
We picked wine pairing and a family style dinner. Started with crab cakes which were awesome with a nice spicy
Topping. We had a deep fried Alvarado that was so goo and stew center was cashews in a sweet sauce. Most amazing dish.
Also a fennel salad and filet medallions and crime brûlée for dessert. Everyone loved the wine choices too.
Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
High quality food and service. Great atmosphere. Always consistent.
We went for a birthday- Awesome food drink and fun!
Food is excellent. We had a large party of 9 people and the service was great too. Had fun with the wine cork display on the wall.
Amazing food and a happening atmosphere. I will definitely be eating here again!
Great neighborhood restaurant. Small menu with high quality ingredients and food. Strongly recommend.
Everything was fabulous. We will definitely be returning.
Dean the owner is great. He welcomed us and then checked back to make sure everything was good during our meal. The staff were very helpful and the food came out quick. Every bite was an adventure. I left my credit card and Dean remembered where I worked and tracked me down to let me know he had it. We will be back!
This is the best place for dinner and wine in Salt Lake.
We had a reservation but still had to wait 25 minutes to be seated. They did serve us drinks while we waited. Out of the 6 entrees on the menu they were out of two but we did go on a Monday night and I understand that restaurants are stocked for the weekend. We ordered about 4 different items and the kitchen forgot to make one of them. Once we reminded the serve they offered to pay for the item which was very nice of them. All together the food was very good and the setting quite nice. With a few refinements the restaurant would be a great place to eat.
Lived in SLC for 3 years and somehow just heard about Cucina. It was simply amazing. The food quality and creativity was incredible! Not to mention, the quaint interior and soft ambiance! We will definitely be returning!
Excellent food, service, and ambiance - as always!
Valentine’s dinner with my wife. Nice place tucked in The Avenues neighborhood. We had the charred cauliflower and the prawns appetizers. Both were good. Then we both had the Ahi Tuna Steak which was amazing! We finished by sharing the Lava Cake which was OK. The service was fantastic. Food came quickly, glasses stayed filled, and our server was very friendly. The owner visited with us multiple times which we enjoyed. At the end of our meal they gave my wife a beautiful long stem rose. Nice touch! We will be going back. It’s a nice locally owned quant restaurant with good food and great service. I would recommend it to anyone.
Cucina has become one of SLCs top dinner spots. Excellent menu, great wine list.
Fantastic...cannot say enough good things about this restaurant!
Made reservation online for daughters 23rd birthday the day of which was easy. Smaller slightly lower table was pushed together with 4 top to accommodate our party of 5. Greeted immediately by owner Dean who noticed made quip about just getting us in on time. Then as guest of honor was late Dean recognized the family comparison and led her to our table. Ben was server and he was exceptional choosing several small plate dishes for us along with my entree (pork is so). Later when we inquired about the coffee he went to the back and returned with exact blend details. Over and beyond.
Great food, great atmosphere, and the staff is wonderful. The owner, Dean, a wonderful man who walks around And says hello. He does a great job running the restaurant.
Cucina's was perfect for our group! We expected to have a group of about 10 guests total, after a one-day conference. We had invited our out-of-town speakers, as well as the organizing committee. We were seated in a side room with an oblong table that enabled all of us to see and hear each other. The food and wine were delicious, and the service was friendly at at exactly the right tempo for a relaxed dinner. Thank you!
I love this place for dinner. The ahi steak is to die for!
I love this place. The Chef is creative and the service wonderful. The owner, Dean, is always around making sure everything is perfect. It says a lot when the owner or manager is ever present to insure that your experience is the best ever. It’s cozy but not noisy, comfortable but too informal. The variety of choices of food and wine is amazing.
Great place. We loved the ambiance. Our server was really fun and accommodating. We had the Ahi Tuna appetizer and it was off the chart good. Beef tenderloin and ahi tuna entrees were very good but the appetizer was the star of the show. I recommend giving them a try.
Every element of our meal was memorable. Already plotting a return visit.
My compliments to the chef, the servers, and the owners. What a wonderful restaurant!
Wonderful food and service!
Dinner was great; really enjoyed sharing multiple dishes with our dinner guests.
The dinner was especially excellent. The owner is very friendly and committed to good food and dining experience. Wine selection is excellent.
Don’t be put off by the deli lunch. This turns into fine dining at night. Amazing menu and cozy atmosphere!! We loved it!
We love going here. Great chef who can adapt for vegetarian. Gluten free already on manu. Excellent wine list. Good servers
Very charming atmosphere. Creative and delicious menu. Risotto was to die for. Recommend everything except the apple tart.
Servers were wonderful. Did not appreciate being seated at a vet small table for barely 2 of to the side in the back. Restaurant wasn’t full. Had to place our drinks on a wall ledge to make room for our food.
A few thoughts, On a cold winter night served cold rolls and cold butter--impossible to eat and not appetizing. Ordered the rack of lamb and it was just like warm with no green vegetable or starch on the plate. It was a lonely piece of almost cold lamb.
On the upside, this is a very neighborhood friendly restaurant. I hope the meals get better with more food on them and the server nicer.
Everything was amazing! Try the small plates!
A fun, high energy spot dinner spot. ( we had previously only come for lunch. Lily, our server, suggested that our party of 4, share entrees!! What a fun idea!! Dean is the gracious, hilarious host. We’ll be back!
Excellent food! Friendly & informed service which was attentive but not intrusive. The menu is smallish but the offerings are well-prepared & beautifully presented. A lovely way to spend an evening!
We LOVED Cucina. Although we feel the ambiance could be improved, the food was fabulous, and the service just wonderful. It was a very quiet Monday night, so we were treated especially well, and enjoyed our evening immensely. I imagine the patio in the Summer is just lovely. A few touches in the interior would make it seem much more special (ie lighting, arrangement of tables, music, maybe a great folding screen in front of the bathroom door) and the prices would seem more commensurate. Nevertheless, we will definitely go back for another marvelous meal!
The food and wine are both fantastic! The service was also great.
