You can also enjoy an assortment of main course entrées such as the seared Ahi steak and Venison strip loin sous vide. Deli service is also available, creating an assortment of gourmet specialty sandwiches like the grilled vegetable medley, portobello mushroom and Tuscan grilled chicken. Drinks on the menu at Cucina include imported, craft and domestic beers as well as an extensive selection of wines.
Our server was terrific and recommended delicious meals. The place is very cute. I worried the menu was a little too creative for my son, but he was able to find food he enjoyed.
As always, the excellent food, great wine selection and cozy environs make for a great experience!
A gem of a restaurant in the Avenues that serves creative cuisine. The atmosphere is that of a European bistro - cozy yet big enough for the group of 8 we had at dinner. The service is extraordinary - friendly and accommodating. We had a couple of children who needed food different than the menu and they had no problem with it. Definitely a frequent-visit restaurant. It is a bit pricey so be prepared.
Delicious food, great friendly knowledgeable service staff, excellent wine. Highly recommend!
Every dish that we ordered, including small plates, mains and desserts were sophisticated, delicious and expertly presented.
excellent service , attentive and polite. Food was excellent and contemporary.
Probably one of the best restaurants in Salt Lake, and one that doesn’t receive the press it deserves
Wonderful food and great service as always. What a treat to have such a great restaurant in our neighborhood?
We are regular visitors to Cucina for good reason. The food, wine, service and atmosphere are always outstanding. Dean, the owner, is an excellent host. A true neighborhood gem. We will back again and again!
Great food, well executed.
+Sidney, our waitress, was very knowledgeable about the menu, ingredients used, etc. I had some very picky eaters with me and she answered all their questions. The food was fabulous, cauliflower with a mole sauce, pasta of the night, popcorn chicken, it was all very flavorable and the presentation was wonderful. What a neighborhood gem!
Excellent gluten free options, a terrific wine list, and the sesame ahi was outstanding.
This place is totally consistent with their service and food. I had the Cornish Hen and it was delicious. Great value for some of the most fabulous food in town. Love Chef Joey and the team.
The menu is eclectic and unusual. If you're a true foodie, you will love the menu options. I am a little more traditional and so is my husband, but we both found things that we loved on the menu. The desserts were especially delicious! Our server was very attentive, friendly and professional.
Fantastic food and service as usual.
The food was amazing. 6 of us ALL had memorable meals, first time there and would go back again and again!
Cucina is a must try! Nestled in a residential neighborhood, Cucina offers an intimate atmosphere and experience, some of that primarily due to the size of the restaurant. The menu is innovative and daring, offering items you might not see anywhere else. Chukar Partridge and New Zealand Venison, as well as lobster gnocchi! The wait staff work hard, but the star of this show is in the kitchen. There is some talent back there! If you seek super good food and your love presentation, don’t miss this hidden gem!
Cucina is such a comfortable place. The service exudes warmth, the food is great, and the ambiance a room full of friends. Our last visit was a last minute plan to meet friends, so we got an early reservation that had us seated before it was crowded. This gave us a chance to chat with the owner, Dean, about his latest wine exploration in Burgundy and to get wine recommendations, which he did individually for each of us. One of the things we love about Cucina is exploring the wine list and trying different pairings, which is easy to do given the size of their by the glass list. Three of us started with the grilled watermelon, gem lettuce salad, which is just superb. Great dressing. My wife had the lobster gnocchi, a small tail that is out of the shell and mixed with a plate of gnocchi with a very nice herb-butter sauce. The ingredients stand on their own in the dish. I had a vegetarian risotto with heirloom Fremont beans, green beans, and a beet sauce that was a religious experience. Topped it off with a goat cheese panna cotta that we shared. We ended up spending 3 hours over dinner, a relaxed and wonderful evening with friends. It is what Cucina always is, even when I dine alone.
Dean and his staff do a great job. Food is great, service is great.
Amazing food with a variety of choices. Highly recommend.
Dinner is charming. Food is very inventive. We stuck to a lot of small plates (which aren’t that small) so cannot comment on the large plates but we enjoyed everything, particularly the tempura shrimp and the crab cakes. Cauliflower in mole sauce also very good.
The food and service is 5 star. A bit more could be done to transform this "order at the counter" cafe to fine dining after 5 PM.
Great food, live music, excellent menu choices, friendly staff
Excellent food and very creative menu. I love going for dinner at Cucina every few months to see what they've rotated on the menu. Great atmosphere and great service, as well. Superb!
We ate outside both times we have been here. The food is so very good...expensive, but worth it! The service is some of the best I have ever had.
Great Restaurant. Menu is great. We had a tough time deciding what to get because everything looked good. Look forward to going back to try some other items on the menu.
Very impressed with the service here. The owner and our server were friendly, welcoming, and attentive. We loved the setting — a quiet neighborhood street surrounded by pretty old homes. And to top it all off, the food was great!
Dean the owner is very gracious and welcoming right from the start. His servers are very knowledgeable with the menu and pairing wines to whatever you are desiring. The outdoor seating is always a pleasure on a summer evening along with the Saturday night live music.
Perfect Saturday evening on the patio, with fabulous food, wine, and music. Starting with a frozen sangria cooled us down on a hot August night. The service was spot on, and we really appreciated Dean giving us a shaded table so we could enjoy our evening from beginning to end. Pasta special was delicious!
This was our first visit to Cucina but not our last! Great service and a wonderful menu. The roma salad had the best chicken nuggets and the cauliflower dish was wonderful. We shared 4 small plates and it was too much food! Appreciated the conversation with the owner and staff. Great wine choices and the Sangria slurpies are an unexpected treat! Cute outdoor patio too.
Was a perfect night. We were seated outside in the shade of a tree as the sun was falling and started with a frozen rose -- my choice -- and my wife enjoyed a frozen sangria. We began with the grilled watermelon and gem lettuce salad, which has an incredible freshness that went well with the frozen drinks and the evening. One of the things we love about Cucina is the extensive list of wines by the glass, which allows us to pair with the course. I had a wonderful fresh salmon and seasonal mushrooms pasta with a creamy sauce that paired wonderfully with a fume blanc with a nice minerality. Wife had the lobster gnocchi, which was a lobster tail out of the shell with fresh, housemade gnocchi that had been pan seared. The sauce included dried berries that add notes of flavor that were intense, surprising, and just plain "happy." It was a memorable dish. We finished with a very affordable scoop of housemade huckleberry ice cream and prosecco as the sun was setting. We enjoyed talking to Dean as he worked the front of the house, and Chef Ferran came out to serve us the ice cream and talk about the gnocchi, which was fascinating. He is a genius with berries and mushrooms while plating dinners that are lovely and delicious. This was a spontaneous evening, reservation made 2 hours before we arrived for an early seating, and it could not have been better.
Excellent innovative food, friendly wait staff and owner, very good value. Highly recommended to anyone who appreciates fine food at reasonable prices.
The menu is very creative. Delicate flavors. Great wine list. Outdoor seating. Our waiter Sidney was a delight.
This is a neighborhood gem tucked away in the Avenues that has a great wine list and menu. The menu has small plates, that are meant to be shared, as well as larger plates that can be a meal. We always get the seasonal flatbread. It has yet to disappoint. All their dishes are well prepared and well priced. (Both tuna dishes - poke and seared - are not to be missed). Their dessert options are few but well executed. Personally, I prefer restaurants with small menus that are well executed. Cucina fits that bill! They have patio seating which is great for this time of the year. Limited parking is available on their lot but there is plenty of street parking around.
The food was excellent. A superb and inventive menu and combinations of tastes. All dishes properly prepared and presented to bring out the best in flavors. The atmosphere was quiet, clean, straightforward, and simple. The service was very good. Overall, an excellent experience.
Fantastic food! Love this place.
100% recommend this place. From the food to the ambiance. Staff is attentive and welcoming. Anything you order on the menu is delicious. Perfect summer night hang out.
Excellent as always! Great food, great wine and great host. Dean has built something special in the Avenues. We will be back!
Love Cucina, we come for the Saturday night music and wine dinners. The food is fabulous and interesting. The menu does need a few more gluten free items and Joey you need to bring back the pomme frittes!
