   Cucina di Mama is the restaurant previously known as Thomas’, owned by the same people. It looks the same, but is very different. We were appropriately greeted and seated. I had read reviews and ratings prior to our visit and knew about the changes. Other patrons in the restaurant were confused as no direction is given. A very informal table is set up in the front room of the restaurant, with lettuces, Italian meats, veggies, hot meatballs, mashed potatoes, roasted veggies and one soup. All are listed on their on line menu. The idea is to help yourself to this “appetizer” assortment , and then sit for small plates (chef’s choice) served to you at your table. Each is served by the waiter out of a large bowl onto your plate. He then returns with the next course until 7 small portions are served. You can ask for “seconds” on any of the small plates and revisit the app station. No dessert or coffee included in $35 flat fee. Still BYOB. My review is this. I never seen a waiter work harder. He was a one man show, and the only employee I saw the entire time we were there. The food was okay. Tasted like everything was prepped, previously cooked, and microwaved as required to serve. We will not be returning. Sorry to see this spot go in this direction. Swing and a miss

   The service was friendly and attentive. The food was very good and the approach made for a leisurely meal. I would recommend highly.

   Really nice new menu format from the same owners, cook, waiters of Thomas’ Restaurant. Serve yourself from the “Salad table” (really an antipasto table with greens) and then enjoy 7 tasting courses brought to your table. You can repeat any or all of the above. Allows you to try everything. Great value at $30 per person weeknights, and you can BYOB. We will be back, but do think we would have enjoyed even more with a group of friends all tasting at once rather than just the two of us.

   I have enjoyed their Rodizio twice. The owner is a hard-working phenomenal chef. I brought my boss and his wife during our last visit and they both said the rice balls where the best they ever had. The meatballs are delicious, the beet salad and mushroom risotto where the best I've had. The gnocchi with broccoli rabe, sun-dried tomatoes and sausage was made to perfection. I highly recommend you trying this restaurant. The dining experience is different from most all restaurants in the area.

   I liked the concept with a rotation of the menu and being able to try everything however if I hadn't reviewed the website beforehand, I wouldn't have known how it worked. The server did not explain anything to us. The food was good but I thought the portions could be a little bigger. Overall we enjoyed our meal.

   Cucina Di Mama offers an abundant, varietal tasting experience for a price that can’t be beat! (Plus, it’s a BYOB.) We really enjoyed the nicely displayed first course salad bar (included soup, meats, and array of fresh vegetables, plus meatballs & mashed potatoes.) We also enjoyed the arancini (rice balls), scallop risotto, salmon scampi and chicken in the tasting menu.

   Complete disaster. Had to wait at lest 20 minutes to be seated in a half empty restaurant. The salad bar was minimal at best with the food average. The main meal, which was a resting of approximately 7 dishes was poor. Service was bad as we waited approximately 60 minutes before we were served our first course(crab cake) which was not very good. So it went for the rest of the meal. The portions were unusually small and quality and taste not very good. We ordered desert and coffee, and to our surprise we were charged $8.00 for the desert and I believe $3 or $4 for the coffee and tea. We were never told that desert and coffee/tea would be extra. Needless to say, we will never go back.

   sorry, this was the worst meal I ever had. They serve just bites of food that isn't even hot . Portion size is literally a bite and took 2.5 hours and the place was not even crowded. The salad bar was great though but it was not well stocked at all. Hardly anyone there and they couldn't keep it stocked. Bad service . We walked out before the last course was even served. Why wait for horrible food? Its a shame cause I loved the old Thomas's. I wanted to love this but no. I know others who went who had the same experience , I should have listened to them.

    Loved the old restaurant. While the style is different the food just wasn’t good. Although u could enjoy additional portions of everything at the end, the food was terrible. The chicken was rubbery and the gnocchi was very hard. The quality was just lacking. Nice try though. Service was excellent!
