Cucina & Co. - Rockefeller Center Ratings and Reviews
I was looking for a kid friendly place close to the Tree, and this was it. But the food was not great for the price, which the reviews all stated. My burger was undercooked but the waiter was nice about it and took it back to be cooked further. It’s a very busy place, more of a cafe than a restaurant experience.
Where to start... well, I guess first that this is NOT a "Mediterranean" restaurant. A diner is what it comes closest to, and that's saying a lot because in a diner at least you have a good variety. The menu was limited, the food was absolutely awful greasy fried food, the staff messed up our reservation (thank god we showed up early), and the service left something to be desired. We sat swatting fruit flies while waiting for our waitress (who was polite, despite messing up our drink order and taking over 20 minutes to come back after we asked for 5 minutes to look at the menu). The smell of fryer grease PERMEATED the entire room (and yes, you will smell like grease when you leave). The price of the food is only justified by the fact that you are in the city and in the Rockefeller building, otherwise, I'd laugh at someone asking us to pay $130 for 2 plates of diner food (seriously, a panini and fish n chips), 2 mediocre soups, and 2 glasses of wine that tasted like bananas.
To top it off, we split the check and just today it turns out that the polite waitress charged one of our cards for the meal in its entirety rather than split it as we requested. Now I have to deal with a transfer fee and the hassle of getting money to the person who ended up with the entire charge on her card (thankful that she has means, otherwise, a mistake like that can end up costing someone overdraft fees).
Unfortunately, this place most likely survives as a tourist trap, getting people in there who are at the Roc Center and have no idea what they are in for. My suggestion, if you don't want your evening ruined DO NOT eat here. It was a truly disgusting experience - I do have a picture of the paper folder they brought our check in (it was wet, soaked in food from God knows what, and falling to pieces), can't seem to load it but happy to share it with mgmnt if they care to see.
We came here because Cucina & Co had a good rating and it was in a perfect location. It also supported an Online reservation of 10. The wait time wasn't too bad. The Food was great and it was only the service that was lacking. It took multiple queries before receiving items ordered. I am not sure if it was because of being short handed but seemed that way. Other than that we had a good time and would recommend.
I made a reservation here after going to see the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall.
The service was just okay. The poor waiter was overwhelmed with the amount of customers and
lack of servers. The food was just okay too! $18.00 for a hamburger and $20.00 for a kids meal.
I guess given the location you get what you paid for. If you don't mind children, crowds and noise this is a place for you.
My daughter, son in law, 2 small grandchildren and I went to Cucina and Co after The Radio City Christmas Show. It was the perfect location. It is a bit noisy, but perfect for us, as it is very kid friendly. The food was excellent and very fresh and hot. Our server was great.
3 of us went to Cucina for lunch before our co-worker leaves for his retirement. We enjoyed the pasta, Salmon and Kale salad. All was delicious!! Since we only had 1 hour, we had perfect time. It was busy there but the noise was not too loud so we are able to have good conversations. We will be back again soon.
The prices were more expensive then I thought it should be. Food was OK but didn't think it was worth the money. Although it's kid friendly I didn't think 3 chicken fingers and fries with a drink and dessert should be $20.
My wife and I had dinner here with my friend and his wife on December 26th to celebrate
Christmas and the New Year.
We all picked from the price fix menu.
They enjoyed the food.
The restaurant was very understanding , taking us 1/2 hour before our reservation, due to
my friend having some problems and need to eat soon then later
Our family had a good meal and the staff was friendly though a bit on the slow side. The bathroom situation is terrible. One toilet, no urinals. It was 5 person wait just to wash my hands before my meal. Overall experience considering the holiday season was satisfactory.
I reserved a table for Christmas Day and had the turkey dinner from the fixed price menu. The food portion was good, but the salmon my father had was a smaller portion. He wished he had gotten the turkey also. The price was high for the cafeteria quality of the food.
We were there for Christmas Eve. The attendant was great but I think because we were the latest table reservation, the meals came so quickly! We didn´t even have space on the table for them, because we were eating the entrees when the main arrived. The food taste was excelent and so as the Christmas menu.
We'd made a reservation for 4 of us to eat at 18:00, upon our arrival we were shocked to find staff saying that we had no reservation booked however they could "fit us in".
We sat at our table for 30 minutes before I had to stop the manager to find out which waiter/waitress was supposed to be waiting our table! It was clear to see that no waiter had actually been allocated our table to manage.
10 minutes later my wife's phone received a message asking where we were as there was a table awaiting us and why we weren't attending. She advised the staff that we were already seated inside. Waited another 20 minutes to be asked what drinks we wanted, another 20 minutes for them to arrive!! Food took another 30 minutes and was not nice at all. Staff were clueless and ignorant. We have been on vacation in NY for 2 weeks and this restaurant was the ONLY one that disappointed us!!
We waited about 15 mins, even with a reservation on open table. It seeks to be the only casual eqtery in the rock center concourse so its burdened by a lot of traffic. The resturant opens to concourse so it can be loud and the diner feels to be on display so its loud. The restaurant is not very big so the ables are crowded. However if you are there to see the tree and dont want to drop $200 for lunch this is a good place to eat if you must stay in rock center but the other finer dining places may be worth it for a much better dining experience.
All that said... the food was actually good! The good... pasta, soups, cesar salad, grill cheese and choco mousse.
The restaurant was average. Nice location, quiet (but not too quiet) noise level and i heard that the omelette was very nice. I had the continental - the fruit was not fresh, the croissant was soft. It came with no butter or jam and so we had to ask for it which seemed to be a huge hassle for one of the waiter's, who delivered it by dumping it on our table without saying anything or asking if everything was ok. Despite this, one of the waitress' was very nice and checked multiple times whether we needed anything else or coffee refills etc. Although it is in a nice location for after ice-skating, I wouldn't label Cucina & Co as anything above average.
Absolutely the worst! Give this place as wide a berth as possible! The service is non existent!
We tried to have breakfast here, it took 20 minutes to even place an order! Then some of the food turned up and we still didn't have coffee, juice or water! We asked 3 times for water, never got it!
I can't remember a restaurant so BAD!
Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!
We thought we would try Cucina & Co. out before we took in the Radio City Christmas Show. It was crowded--understandable at this time of year--and the tables were close together. Although our server was pleasant and we could see she wanted to do a good job, she was clearly overburdened. We'd recommend they hire more servers during the busy Holiday season. Having a server more visible and pulled in fewer directions would definitely improve diners' experiences.
This has got to be the worst dining experience I've ever had. Had a reservation and still didn't get in until 20 minutes later. Our food didn't reach our table FOR AN HOUR AND ONE HALF AFTER WE ORDERED. we had a young child with us as well. Every single table surrounded us got served before we did. Interestingly enough what we DID notice is that the tables that ordered alcohol got served promptly.
Will not EVER recommend this place or be back.
Absolutely worst place ever! No point in making reservations as you end up waiting 15-20 minutes past when the reservation was made for! After being seated, we waited 15 minutes before a waiter even asked what we wanted to drink. Another 10 minutes just to bring out our water and another 20 before we got our wine. Waiter checked on us just once after we got our drinks and food... then it took 35 minutes for him to finally come over for me to ask for the check. I made eye contact with him multiple times while he walked past the table until he came to ask if we wanted desert when all I wanted was the check from him 35 minutes ago. Safe to say, never going back there as they ruined the special occasion it was for!
Thankfully we had made a reservation for dinner cause there was a mob of people being rude to the host about how long the wait was, he was the only good thing about the dining experience. We had to ask the waiter three different times for things that were missing from our order. Granted it is the holiday season and it is buys but it was an awful experience all the way around. The food was mediocre
