We are located in the same building as the train station, just opposite side, next to West End Wine Bar.
Food was excellent, feel of the restaurant was fun, service was exceptional. We will go back again. Too ban there is nothing like this in Chapel Hill.
Some of the best pasta since I've been back from Italy!
Outstanding house made pastas
THE BEST ITALIAN RESTAURANT IN DURHAM
Our waiter was great. The food by Chef Kim is phenomenal, as close to being in Italy! We loved the bruschetta and truffle pasta. Good cocktails, the hibiscus martini was incredible as was the cucumber basil cocktail. This will be our “go to” restaurant!
Cucciolo Osteria has claimed the title belt for best restaurant in Durham.
Delicious food and great service.
We always enjoy our experience at Cucciolo. It is easily our favorite restaurant in Durham. The cocktails and wine list are top notch. The servers/waitstaff are courteous, knowledgeable and attentive. The food is excellent! We have never been disappointed.
The ambience was excellent, pair it with the food & drinks I give it 2 thumbs up! We will definitely make a return visit soon!
This is such an excellent restaurant. Great service and the food is delicious! Best pasta/Italian restaurant in Durham.
Delicious hand-made pastas - especially try the pasta with truffle sauce and the carbonara1
This is the best Italian restaurant I’ve been to outside of Italy itself, Boston, and New York. We had house-made pasta which was wonderful, and the grape and goat cheese appetizer was amazing.
This was our third visit. We keep bringing different friends with us. The butter chicken is my husband’s favorite. I love the rigatoni with white rags and truffles.
The food and the service were excellent.
The A/C was very strong and even though I had a sweater, I froze.
The parking situation is not good. Not nearly enough spaces. We parked in the train station gravel lot, which I am not sure is allowed.
Great food. Parking was a challenge. Recommend the butter chicken and any of the pastas.
Excellent food and service! Highly recommend. My only challenge was I wanted to switch out my pasta for one they made in house with the White Ragu and the chef disagreed. Meal was still great but was not impressed by the pasta since was under cooked I not homemade. I did try my friend’s dish with the homemade pasta and it was delicious! I recommend to ask the question to ensure you get the homemade pasta on your visit!
We enjoyed everything about our dinner at Cucciolo: menu choices, wine list, cocktail options, and fine service. The book was uniformly delicious. A memorable evening!
We were a particularly demanding group, but the staff was so pleasant, and the food was amazing! I wish all their pasta dishes were made with their homemade pasta, but that's my only nitpicky complaint!
Exceeded expectations. Best Italian Restaurant we have visited in the Triangle. Service was exceptional.
Manager went out of the way when we had to wait longer for lack of a table for 4.
Cool place and delicious food! Service for bar seating started off slow -- took a while to place drink orders-- but steadily improved.
Our food was delicious and fresh. Cocktails and wine we had were spot on with our food. The service was professional and friendly. The overall experience was smooth and very enjoyable. One of the nicest dinners I’ve had in Durham in a while. Thank you!
This is by far one of the most delicious restaurants in Durham. The atmosphere, service, and food quality are all impeccable. The homemade pastas, appetizers and the butter chicken are the best around! Would highly recommend!
Perfection, as usual!
Delicious food, great service, strong wine list -- the best Italian restaurant in the Triangle!
Listen. If I could have picked up the plate and licked it I would have. We had a flounder with kale and cherry tomatoes and it was fantastic. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was great. I cannot wait to go back.
Excellent Service! Good portions.. Everything from the rice balls to the walnut pesto was so well done and above all really fresh.
The only disappointment we had is that our pasta course was served at the table only about 10 minutes after we received our salad course. As we were four people at a small square table in the back, the table was full of plates and drinks, and our pasta dishes just sat there getting cold while we hurried to eat our salad dish. The person who brought out plates to the table so early, without waiting for us to finish our first course may have been the owner. He was not a waiter. Whoever he was, he was brusque and appeared impatient with us. He tried to start clearing our table for room for the pasta plates, and we had to ask him to stop because we were still eating that first course. I strongly suggest that Cucciolo not rush customers, and observe the progress of their guests eating a first course before serving pasta, as our pastas all got cold before we had time to begin them.
Service was outstanding. Double butter chicken dish was superb.
Noise level was quite high. I thought $14.50 for a glass of Pinot Noir was over the top.
Best Italian restaurant in Durham hands-down. I have been there three times and I have chosen different dishes each time and been very happy. Girlfriend keeps picking Truffle Tajarin because she insists its the best pasta dish she's ever had.
My fave restaurant in Durham!! Keep up the good work team!
Overall a great place. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but if you know that going in-it’s not too bad.
I had the black truffle pasta and my husband had a covia fish special. Both were great. I will def. return for more!
Great food, great service, very nice experience and evening. Will definitely go back.
I don’t have any food pics but we had the bruschetta and spicy vodka sauce pasta with delicious red wine. Loved this little gem in downtown Durham !!!
This is a great place with a creative chef. The food is so delicious!!
Food was great! I love the truffled pasta dish. My friend really liked the flounder special.
I go here every two weeks, and I’ve noticed that every time I do, there’s something that goes wrong with my experience. Either they run out of the pasta I want, mess up my reservation, or refuse to serve alcohol. I don’t know if I’ll continue to go here because I’ve realized that their service is terrible.
Dear Anonymous, Thank you for your feedback and we apologize for the lapse in our service. We have had more customers than we anticipated over the weekend, and we unfortunately ran out of fresh pastas towards the end of the service. As for the alcohol, we are obligated by law to check ID and not serve alcoholic beverages if a guest cannot provide a proper form of identification or appears intoxicated. Thank you for your understanding.
First time diner here. Made reservation a week in advance for a weekday dinner and best I could get was a 5:45 at the bar. Kudos they at least put our party of four at a corner so we all could b in on the conversation. Be advised, book well in advance.
Not a big menu or wine list. Service was great. Food very good. IMO, everything a little overpriced but given the crowd they are getting it is what it is.
Be advised, this is not Olive Garden Italian dishes, very different but also very good.
The food is thoughtfully prepared, interesting and delicious. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. The staff was slightly flummoxed because we were eating so early and were the first customers to arrive. This was a pre-DPAC dinner and we had an early reservation to allow plenty of time to make curtain. The music was too loud, but a staff person turned it down for me. I really like to be able to hear the person I am dining with. Overall, it was a lovely experience and I will definitely go back.
Dinner & service was good.
