We are located in the same building as the Amtrak train station, just opposite side, next to West End Wine Bar.
Had a fantastic experience dining at Cucciolo for the first time, do not miss out on the house limoncello!
They never disappoint! Amazing and knowledgable staff- amazing food- food comes fast. So so good.
This was my first time eating at Cucciolo and I was hoping it would be nice as we were there to celebrate my husband's birthday. I was not disappointed! The staff was excellent - attentive, but not overly so, friendly but not too casual, ready with recommendations that highlighted the menu's range and variety. For me, the highlight was the food. Really flavorful and the serving sizes were reasonable... not too much but also not too precious. I will definitely look forward to going again and bringing friends. It was a lovely evening.
The Ragu Bolognese Tagliatelle was mouth watering and was. exceptional The butter chicken should not be missed.
Only negative was we felt hustled our after dessert. No refills on water provided after the main course even though we shared a dessert. Food was awesome.
Always great. Best Italian I’ve had in the triangle BY FAR. Excellent food and accommodating/attentive staff though they aren’t on top of you all the time. Perfect balance.
Food is fabulous! Waitstaff fantastic!
Seating is tight though.
Been here 3 times and always an excellent dining experience! Food and service spot-on. Pork chops with kale chips was stellar especially with the celery root puree sauce. Kale chips were a bit too salty for my liking though but despite that, a great dish all around! Definitely a rotating restaurant to go to on my list!
This was our first visit to Cucciolo Osteria. We ordered 2 of the bruschettas, the basil tomato and the burrata hazelnut. Both were delicious, but if you are looking for interesting flavor, I would go with the hazelnut. I'm anxious to try the goat cheese one on our next visit. Our table had 3 of the pastas: Ragu Bolognese, White Ragu Tajarin and the Truffle Tajarin. The Bolognese was quite good, but the White Ragu and the Truffle Tajarin were exceptional! I've been dreaming of the truffle dish ever since. I only have 2 suggestions for management. One is to increase the portion sizes of the pastas; they are on the small side. All 4 of us left the restaurant feeling not fully satisfied. The waiter mentioned that we might want to order a dish with protein or split a Secondi in addition to our pastas, but those who got dishes with a protein still thought the dishes were too small. Perhaps the restaurant should consider offering two different portion sizes. The second suggestion would be to offer more than two dessert options. Their dessert menu was limited to a tiramisu and a panna cotta. We were celebrating a birthday and would have liked a few more options. Other than that, the restaurant is very good and we will absolutely return!
Loved the atmosphere and food! Plus, the service was exceptional. Highly recommend!
All around great service!!
Simple, delicious, perfect food. I want to eat it everyday.
Really excellent al sentence pasta, wine and service. The only menu item that was a disappointment was the mushroom appetizer. It was just so so.
Garret was a great waiter!
Food is really good , we go pretty often and every dish is tasty and great quality.
Took a special family member to supper. Meal was delicious; servings not to heavy and generous. Presentation and taste were great. We had tagliatelle with bolognese sauce and a salad
Took my wife for our weekly date night and this was our second time for dinner.
Excellent pasta and appetizers
Every dish was exceptional. From the antipasti list, we tried the creamed mushrooms and spinach arancini. For pasta, we tried the cacio e pepe and the spicy vodka rigatoni. All of it was delicious. The ambiance was great for a date night, and all the staff from the hostess, waitress, and manager were very friendly. We were even provided complementary panna cotta, which was excellent.
This has become one of my favorite local restaurants. The food is excellent and so is the service.
My only critique would be ambiance for the back half of the restaurant, if you sit facing the rear. In that area/direction, there is little visually appealing - the walls are white and blank, and with direct view into the bathroom when the door opens. Yet, if you turn and face the front, it is warm and inviting. Not enough to keep me from going back many times, but worth noting if ambiance is important to you.
Food was excellent specially the truffle pasta, pannacotta and espresso coffee. Our server Liza was excellent too!
Wonderful food and smart, diligent server. Manager was also attentive.
Delicious And great service
This would have been a five star review - except that we ordered the fish at “market price” and we were charged twice the price of other entrees! It was only flounder, some kale and cherry tomatoes. We expected to pay more than other entrees, but double the price made us feel like we were being taken advantage of.
Everything we ate was great, although I continue to have particularly strong feelings about the bruschetta with burrata, truffle and hazelnuts. If I could change anything, I’d make the dining room a little less bright with a few banquettes for a little privacy. Not an urgent problem.
Rustic ambiance with delicious pasta. Everything about it was great - a little noisy though
There was no dairy free options! The menu has all these vegan, gluten free etc and then nothing for lactose intolerant with all the sauces even basic tomatoe sauces, containing cheese and they couldn’t do much about it or offer anything besides pasta and olive oil. I’m Italian and cook a lot of Italian food and this just seemed ridiculous and thoughtless that a high end Italian kitchen couldn’t/wouldn’t make a basic cheese free pomodoro sauce. I had to specify to add some tomatoes to olive oil and then it came souses in cayenne pepper and incredibly bitter. A total disappointment. The waitress was also obviously annoyed by my request which is usually met with no issue and is a true allergy!
Mushroom appetizer was delicious- rich and creamy with just the right amount of garlic and spices. The bolognese and white ragu were pastas were excellent
Great service, very attentive, and also very accommodating for our anniversary dinner. Would definitely come back.
One of the best restaurants around. Their pasta is exceptional and has not disappointed so far.
Good food, cold waiter, need to add more vegetables / healthy options
Excellent! Delicious food! Can’t wait to return!
Wonderful as always!!!
Solid choice for classic but elevated italian. Bread wasn’t great which disappointed. Drinks were excellent. Wanted more fish options. Beautiful dining room.
Everything was AMAZING. We definitely look forward to dining here again!!
Some of the best Italian I have ever had!! There were 3 of us and we all LOVED everything we order. The roasted grapes, creamy mushrooms, and beef carpaccio were AMAZING.
The restaurant is very spare with few design elements. I always appreciate modern, but this just felt stark and uncomfortable (wood bench seats.)The food was good, but nothing special. The prices were good, but the portions are small. The tiramisu is really good.
Love everything about it. Food was wonderful.
Bruschettas were fantastic, especially the burrata, honey, hazelnut one. Homemade pastas are delicious and the chicken is superb. Service was impeccable, answering all the many questions we asked. 3 of us sat at the bar because there were no tables available when we reserved. But it was still perfect and we had plenty of space to sit back and talk.
This is the greatest Restaurant, the food was superb, we had pork chops, pasta, and roasted grapes. You may need to reserve ahead of time though.
