Passing through the doors of Cuba Libre in The Quarter at Tropicana Atlantic City transports guests to Havana, Cuba of the 1950s.

The restaurant's brand new wood-burning grill and chef's counter greets guests upon entering, with wood-fired menu items to be enjoyed fireside at the 12-person counter, or from anywhere in the dining room. Guests will experience a true taste of Old Havana with James Beard Award-winning Chef-Partner's menu of classic and contemporary Cuban cuisine. There's something for everyone, ranging from simply-grilled meats and seafood, to Cuban classics like Ropa Vieja, Vaca Frita, Shrimp con Mojo, or the Grilled Vegetable Paella.

The atmosphere offers the unique combination of Latin warmth, flavor and splendor. One-of-a-kind millwork and architectural salvage help capture the essence of old Cuban architecture. Colorful exotic foliage and palm trees add to Cuba Libre's open-air, tropical ambiance.

The new wood fired grill has totally overhauled this restaurant. I had a bone-in ribeye, and it was the best steak I've had, really !

We’ve visited Cuba Libre Atlantic City 4 times within the last 2 months. After raving about it to our friends we decided to all go together for the chef tasting menu for dinner. This has been $35 for a nice size taste of almost everything on the menu. Now it’s $42 each and portions were a joke. ((This is what we got the last 3 times and our previous waitress explained it was more than enough for 2 people and she was right! We were stuffed!))This time we ordered 2 tasting menus for the 4 of us and we received the same amount of food as if we only ordered 1. The waitress explained some nonsense about it being for 1 person although that isn’t written anywhere on the menu plus we knew from recent experience that it’s too much for 1 person. We all left hungry. My kids were told the sandwich on the kids menu was good but it was full of mustard and relish and flat out gross. The grilled pear sangria with “grilled fruit” is $9.50 each (I had 2) and only came with a tiny square of fruit, ton of ice and no buzz. Way to rip off your repeat customers. Our friends won’t be back either. Too bad for them since we all work in the corporate industry and a good/bad word goes a long way.

I love the food at this restaurant. The menu is authentic and the spanish seafood is the best. Service is always top notch and everyone who works here is always very accommodating.

Making reservations was easy and there was no wait when we got there. Table service was superior Drinks could have had more liqueur in them. The steak was very very succulent, but it took two tries to get it well done. Ambience was fine, but somewhat noisy.

The food was really good. We ordered the crab guacamole, but i am 99% sure there wasn't any crab in it. It was still good, but that was a little disappointing. But the mojitos and fire grilled meats were excellent. The cuban style appetizer rolls were definitely worth it.

The seafood paella was excellent! Just the proper amount of rice and a fair amount of mussels, calamari and of course, topped with lobster. Highly recommended.
Our server, Amber was very pleasant and attentive.
Our meals were brought timely.
