   Whilst the main course was excellent, the £24 platter of hams etc was woe full! Whilst the staff were very pleasant I hit the impression they were under pressure from the kitchen. We arrived at 7.30 order wine then was looking the menu to decide what to have. We were told the kitchen shuts at 8.30 and would need to order sooner there than later! Saturday night very odd? The good came and it was very good, however, the waitress couldn’t wait to clear our plates to the point she tried to take my plate away when I hadn’t finished. We weren’t even offered the sweet menu. So overall nice place good food but really need to reflect on overall service it felt rushed and when you’re spending £185 for 4 people I think you can do a bit better! It won’t stop me coming and this is not a reflection on the staff!

   My roast dinner was cold , extreme lack of vegetables, nothing like it said on the menu . Was not impressed atoll .

   Hi Dawn, We are sorry to hear about your experience but it's very frustrating when we don't know anything about it at the time. All of our roasts are portioned controlled so will be exactly the same and kept to temperature to ensure the best quality. When we checked your table everyone said the food was great.    This is a really nice pub in a beautiful area. We came for lunch and had a great time.

   Table for four with wheelchair access and parking outside for disabled- good food, service with a smile and good value. Also lovely canal view. Recommend

   Was really looking forward to the ravioli however the pasta texture was odd and it was very oily. I said to the waitress about the texture and it wasn’t taken off the bill, no one checked if our food was ok. We also had to chase drinks. Other than the above the location and interior is lovely

   The setting, service and food were all great. Let down only by a tiny portion of gravy for two people (but quickly sorted when commented and brought us more).

As a northerner I completely agree and can only think that one of our southern fraternity who doesn't understand the importance of a good Sunday Gravy portion let that go.    it was an amazing roast dinner, the best i’ve ever had. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere in the pub was great.

    Had lunch with a friend today. When we got our food mine was almost cold as if it had been standing around for a while. The food itself seemed ok but I couldn’t eat cold food. It was the venison pie, mad and veggies. I did not complain as the staff were very busy. The restaurant itself was very cold and draughty and I came away frozen and still hungry. Needless to say I will not be returning for another meal.
